Just because it's listed as 1 minute long doesn't mean you can't watch the entire 60 mins. I recorded the entire thing and mine is listed as 1 minute.

I'm sure, cuz I watched and recorded wm 8 with no problem. I just wanted to know the runtime so I know which mode to set my dvd recorder, cuz if it's an hour I'll just set it at HQ (I Hour) mode.

I watched Bret/Bulldog for the 100th or so time earlier. I can practically remember individual crowd shots, lines of commentary, spots in the match. My favorite match ever, and SummerSlam 92 is one of my favorite PPVs ever.

That's probably one of my favourite matches ever as well, I love everything about that match.

 

Austin coming back to attack the Harts only to get a Hart Family beatdown is one of the best moments in wrestling.

 

And Hitman-Savage was awesome too!

I watched Savage-Hart twice yesterday; once on my own and then later on with a couple friends. I can see some people not digging it, but I love how much emphasis is placed on injuries sustained during the match.

 

We also watched the 10-man tag. Vince and company look like absolute geniuses for having planted the seeds of the Hart Foundation angle months ahead of Canadian Stampede. By time they got to the show, everything was firmly established and the heat is off the charts for just about everyone involved in the match. You know you've done a good job at booking when Jim Neidhart circa 1997 is getting big reactions.

The heat for that 10-man tag match was amazing. The camera actually shoot twice from all the cheering.

The Film Room stuff with Brisco is very good. You get a match with Dory Jr., a tag match with Dory Sr. and Paul Jones, and a match against Johnny Valentine.

I watched the Roundtable last night - the idea that it's 60 minutes of bashing the worst characters is a bit misleading as they touch on SOME bad characters, then talk about bad characters who turned out good or bad moments and what have you. That said, it was quite the enjoyable program - I miss JR but I guess they needed Gene to talk about the Gooker. The bit where The Freebirds singing their new song in the 90s bombed was funny. Michaels Hayes also talks about how inappropriate the never aired segments involving Harlem Heat being in chains with Col. Parker was.

 

Speaking of Hayes, he makes a quick comment about not liking the Dok Hendrix gimmick. I thought I read somewhere he actually picked that named (Dokken + Jimmy Hendrix = Dok Hendrix) and perhaps he did as I believe he clarified he didn't like being a P.S. Hayes caricature doing Slam Jam promos.

The Legends show was a bit disappointing. Why do these shows always blather about the Gooker as though he was some life altering bad gimmick? Look, it was a stupid seasonal idea around Thanksgiving, he showed and danced with Gene, that was about it. It was stupid but harmless.

 

The aspect that blew my mind was that some guys like Hayes and Foley tried to DEFEND The Shockmaster as a good gimmick on paper that didn't pan out due to Ottman screwing up and falling. Yeah, a fat Typhoon in a Stormtrooper helmet would draw so much money. I like what Lance Storm said about it on a Wrestlecrap interview: "People miss the point of The Shockmaster. Let's say he doesn't fall on his ass and does the interview as planned.....it still would have sucked!"

Some friends and I watched it last night. A little disappointing, since they focused too much on the Gooker and their scope of gimmicks discussed was limited. I can't believe Hayes actually made it sound like it was Taylor's fault for the Red Rooster gimmick failing.

 

We enjoyed the bad moments more so than the discussion on the bad characters. The Freebirds debacle was classic and the Chamber of Horrors was classic WCW.

 

Nothing on the program compared to what we watched afterwards, though: The Piledriver Album Video! Nothing better than spending a Friday night with a bunch of dudes watching a music video that includes Hogan spraying cement all over Arnold Skaaland's ass.

I actually don't mind the Chamber of Horrors match. It's pretty funny and isn't dull at least. I think the weirdest part is that they put that match on as the opener of Havoc 1991, with a heel Luger retaining as the main event. Shouldn't such a bizarre spectacle be saved for the main event?

That ancient footage from the Sportatorium was something else. And what a crazy match stipulation! You could get pinned 50 times but the match doesn't end until you concede defeat.

So I don't have 24/7 and apprently I really need to fucking get it. I watched two shows of the Legends of Wrestling roundtable on Dailymotion and I enjoyed every minute of the two that I watched. The shows I watched were the "Badasses" and "Worst Charatchers" shows and I was just hooked on every word.

 

They did put a lot of time talking about the Gooker and The Shockmaster but lets face it, those are two of the most worst gimmicks that ever happen and hearing Dusty tell the story about everyone's who was backstage and on the stage reaction to the Shockmaster enterance was funny as hell.

 

What I'm liking about the shows is that the people on the roundtable are holding nothing back when they talk and the discussions are covering a lot of ground around the topic, not just the topic itself.

 

I think the Legends of Wrestling might just be the main reason why I get 24/7.

Yeah the Shockmaster stuff was hilarious on that show, but they spent too much time on the Gooker. Is the Gooker really all that historic? It's just a stupid Thanksgiving turkey gimmick that vanished soon after and had little to do with anything. The Shockmaster actually main evented some shows, haha.

If I remember right, the WWE made a giant deal out of the "What's gonna hatch?" gimmick and like the guys at the roundtable said, it just about had everyone wanting to know what was gonna hatch or who was gonna pop outta the egg.....only to find out it was the Gooker.

Yeah it was dumb, but was Survivor Series 1990 a debacle or anything? Not really. It's not there wasn't a big debut on that show other than the Gooker.

Everyone needs to watch the Terry Funk ep of Film Room before it's gone, if just for the infamous "motor oil" promo at the end.

 

Also, the Putski HOF doc is noteworthy for including the Putski-Superstar Graham interpretation of the famous Ray Stevens-Pepper Gomez angle.

It's odd to watch the HOF show and not hear "POLISH POWER!" or the Russian anthem in the opening, but I like the updated changes.

 

I assume some Coliseum Video, but where are the clips of Monsoon sitting in a big comfy leather chair talking about Putski from?

I recall Monsoon doing a bunch of interviews like this towards the end. He did some for the Jesse Ventura videotape they released.

 

I liked the Putski HOF profile a lot. What was mess though his match with Piper is though. All it is is a few flurry of punches before the DQ. Interesting bit with Piper's bagpipers playing during the match but it gets old and annoying really fast. Putski's also featured on Prime Time and I could really do without the sight of Putski in a skimpy, leopard speedo.
