Cheech Tremendous Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 So the Twins gave Joe Nathan a four year, $47 million contract? That's absurd for any team, especially a small market one bitching about payroll. Why didn't they use that money for Santana and trade Nathan for prospects? Pat Neshek could be the closer tomorrow and that team wouldn't miss a beat. What a fall this team has quickly taken since Bill Smith took over as GM.
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Sorry Blue Jays fans, I don't think he is going to provide much help
Krankor Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I just got done watching game 2. Rich Harden looked damn good today. In 6.0 innings of work he had 9 strike outs, 1 ER, and a 1.0 WHIP. Harden is a great pitcher. I really hope he stays healthy. Emil Brown also got some redeption today from losing yesterday's game with a 3 run jack off of Lester. Boston fans should be concerned about the starting pitching situation.
Cartman Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Concerned, maybe, but Beckett is fine and i'm of the mind that he used this "Back spasm" crap to avoid the Japan trip altogether. Dice-K is probably going to win 15-17 games, Lester will most definitely be better that he was today...I mean this IS March. Wakefield is good for 13-16 wins. Colon and Buchholz are the #5 possibilities and whatever they contribute is bonus.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Let's see how musician John Mayer takes to announcing.
Matt Young Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 I just saw that the Red Sox are playing the Dodgers right now in a spring training game. Did that happen in 2004 when the Yankees played the Rays overseas? As in they played a couple regular season games, went back to exhibitions, and then resumed regular season play when the other 28 teams started up? I know Boston and Oakland don't play again until Tuesday.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 Yeah, they came home and played the Tigers (I think) in an exhibition game before they started the rest of the regular season. I'm sure the Devil Rays did the same.
Krankor Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 That's so awesome. And that happened! Apparently it was an S. He's number 15... One yellow light and one blue light... Pitch comes along, and that happened!
