Madden, NFL Head Coach, and NCAA Football 2009

We don't have a whole ton of people in our dynasty, so if they want to join in, I don't see a problem.

 

Only complaint I have is 5 minute quarters are a bit short for me. I have always played on like 7 minute quarters at least (and when I played Madden, I did 10, but that's obviously too excessive). Maybe I'm just a weirdo when it comes to that kind of thing, though, in that I like longer quarters.

 

On Campus Legend though, I don't think I could do that because the CPU does not run down the clock at ALL, there's no time choosing plays or anything so the clock doesn't run down like, ever. Makes no sense.

 

I saw that, Agent. That sucks. I just got done whooping Bowling Green at home, and am getting geared up for my big game against my former team at Autzen. That'll probably be a pretty tough game, but I thought I handled my last game pretty well, so we'll see.

 

Question: Should we move all the online dynasty talk into its own thread? I think it might need one.

I was wondering about that myself, Leo. Also, the Madden online franchise talk. No one responded to my suggestions for said franchise, which I still plan to create myself for reasons stated previously, and the game's out in 2 weeks.

I think I'm gonna pass on Madden this year, because I'm planning on picking up NHL 09 instead, and getting in the EA Sports Hockey League.

 

This sounds like the most awesome feature in any sports game EVER. It's a complete ongoing online league where everyone is controlling just ONE player.

As to the online dynasty, I'll give it a shot, but to be honest I've never been real good at sports games, despite being suckered in to getting NCAA every year. I'll pick out a team, but I'm going to be an easy W for everyone. I can recruit like a mother though. Anyway, how does it work? If someone could give me a summary I'd appreciate it.

Just let me know what team you'd like to play as and I can send you an invite to the league with that team. You play the CPU for pretty much all of the season unless you've got one of us scheduled in which case, you'd play one of us.

 

You recruit just like the offline dynasty but the twist is that you'd possibly be recruiting against one of us for the player's commitment.

Am I the only that feels Madden should have a no player ratings mode? The last few games I have played online it has been frustrating when my receivers are dropping wide open passes, while my opponent's receivers seem to teleport 2-3 yards behind my secondary at the last second to make catches.

 

My other pet peeve is how Madden seems to give ratings way to high for "athletes" as opposed to great football players....Michael Vick, Reggie Bush, Donovan McNabb(well not so much anymore) are just capable of doing stupidy on the field in this game.

 

I wish there was a mode, namely ONLINE MODE, where ratings were emphaized less and it was more about the offense I pick vs. the defense my opponent picks and vice versa.

 

With that said....I'm getting Madden '09 on the 12th....lol.

I'm waiting a couple weeks on Madden, to be sure it isn't as bad as NCAA was on release. Also I'm fucking broke and I need $3200 by the middle of August to not get kicked out of the college I just spent most of the summer dicking around to get transferred into, so that eats into the yearly Madden funds.

But fuck it; I'll just do it. At least I know I've got the time, the experience and credentials (not trying to sound pretentious- I couldn't think of a better word to use) to make it work.

Yeah, it sucked pretty badly, but it was still one wild game, IMO. Especially if you look at the scoring summary for it.

 

I was down 21-7 in the 2nd quarter nearing halftime and scored 14 points in less than a minute, literally and then took the 2nd half kickoff back for a TD. That was one of the crazier sequences I have ever seen on this or Madden in the years I've been playing them.

 

Speaking of Madden, I'm interested in joining the Madden league as the 49ers.

I haven't been sleeping much and I've been busy making preparations for my birthday (which is today). Last night I saw that Broward hadn't played his game yet so I said, "Fuck it" and went to bed. But I just played and won 42-10.
