Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 I thought Nims would be #1. I figured with only that and Horton out that kids movies would do better
cd213 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 21 is not a good movie. This must have been a weak week for movies. I want to see LEATHERHEADS.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 I can't believe how many people I overheard say "Yeah I heard 21 sucked but I'm seeing it anyway!" Further proof that American filmgoers are stubborn idiots
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 I can't believe how many people I overheard say "Yeah I heard 21 but I'm seeing it anyway!" Further proof that American filmgoers are stubborn idiots I assume you meant to put bad or something similar in there. But in regards to the second statement...maybe, even if a movie has gotten bad reviews, and others don't seem to like, does that automatically mean you won't either? (If that's the case what's that say about you?) Maybe people just want to judge whether a movie was shitty or not themselves, rather then just going along with what everyone says. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 I figured Leatherheads would have done better had it released somewhere closer to football season.. 21 is based on a true story, but from what Ive read they "hollywoodized" the story too much.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 21 looks like an interesting premise, but anyone can tell that execution looks like shit from the trailers

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 Exslade- I hope one day you'll learn that life is too short for bad movies or just going to the movies for the sake of going to the movies.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 Exslade- I hope one day you'll learn that life is too short for bad movies or just going to the movies for the sake of going to the movies. ...... Lies. But seriously, the point I was making is that everyone might not think it's a bad movie. Sure, your friends might have told you it was, but who knows, you might like it. Why just go off of what everyone else says? Unless life is too short for decent to good movies as well.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 Exslade- I hope one day you'll learn that life is too short for bad movies or just going to the movies for the sake of going to the movies. I disagree on that. I go to the movies for the sake of going to the movies all the time! And 21 was not that good, Nim's Island is a family film starring Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 You know what? I'm not going to lecture Exslade anymore. Besides I'm not entirely qualified to seeing how I liked Pootie Tang.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2008 I heard on the radio today that box office numbers have been down a good amount from this time last year. There has only been one movie over $100 Million (Horton), while last year had 3 at this time (300, Wild Hogs and Blades of Glory. Even Meet the Robinsons was 3 million short from 100 million). And yes I know that Blades didn't get to $100 million by the end of April, but you get my point. Then again, 300 was one of the main factors for the bigger numbers last year. Sarah Marshall will do at least $30 million in two weeks and gross more than $100 million, though with Harold and Kumar coming out the next week, it might hurt its business. And you can really tell when watching what has been "hollywoodized." The proper term would probably be "Whitewashed", since the main male characters (in the book and in real life) are Asian. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 figures came out earlier this week putting Leatherheads at #3 That has to be a huge disapointment then again were they really expecting a lot of people to flock to a 1930s screwball comedy throwback?
