Nightwing Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 It'll be interesting to see TRADE FOR KHABIBULIN what the Red Wings do this summer to TRADE FOR KHABIBULIN address their netminding needs. There are some good TRADE FOR KHABIBULIN free agents out there, but maybe TRADE FOR KHABIBULIN they can make some deals with other teams. You know what? The 'Hawks would be a decent candidate to go after Huet this summer. Just realized that. And who do you like more? Hartigan or Quincy?
Zetterberg is God Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Osgood's starting game five. Not a huge surprise but it's definitely the right move.
This is Bo Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 The rangers will be like the New York Giants...surprise everyone by winning it all!
treble Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I get what they're trying to do in Philly, but I don't like them having the blonde girl singing God Bless America with Kate Smith. And you can tell she doesn't like it, either. Then you have her trying to upstage a dead lady by over-singing it at the end.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 That's long-time Flyers announcer Gene Hart's daughter. I'm pretty sure she's fine with it.
treble Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Maybe, she just seemed to have a pissed off look when they first started the Smith verse. I think if you're going to have a duet like that, they should probably sing the song the same way, too. Anyway, this is a dumb conversation, and it's hard to argue with the results when the Flyers score half a second into the game.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 They did the same duet before game 3. And, though I could be wrong, they've done it a few times prior to these last 2 games. Plus, she'd done it solo a ton of times for the Flyers. Flyers need to stop taking penalties.
Red Baron Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 God damn Habs. *continues to drink as he ponders why Plekanec is doing absolutely nothing*
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Wow, Flyers just got a GIFT of a power play here w/ just over 2 minutes left in a tie game.
the max Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Very proud of the collective Bruins effort in the third. Though I'm wishing those bounces had shown up in games 2 and 4 because this series would be very, very different. Still: 2004: (2) Boston v. (7) Montreal Game 1: Montreal @ Boston - Boston 3-0 Game 2: Montreal @ Boston - Boston 2-1 OT Game 3: Boston @ Montreal - Montreal 3-2 Game 4: Boston @ Montreal - Boston 4-3 2OT Game 5: Montreal @ Boston - Montreal 5-1 Game 6: Boston @ Montreal - Montreal 5-2 Game 7: Montreal @ Boston - Montreal 2-0 2007: (1) Montreal v. (8) Boston Game 1: Boston @ Montreal - Montreal 4-1 Game 2: Boston @ Montreal - Montreal 3-2 OT Game 3: Montreal @ Boston - Boston 2-1 OT Game 4: Montreal @ Boston - Montreal 1-0 Game 5: Boston @ Montreal - Boston 5-1
Zetterberg is God Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Anaheim is in a lot of trouble right now.
LaParkaMarka Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 If you can, watch the Flyers/Caps game. In the 2nd OT right now, this game is awesome.
Zetterberg is God Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Speaking of trouble, Washington is now in quite a heap of it. Huet was amazing in a losing effort.
C Dubya 04 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Too late. Goal. 3-1 series lead Flyers.
C Dubya 04 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 If you can, watch the Flyers/Caps game. In the 2nd OT right now, this game is awesome. That was a great game. The overtimes were up and down the ice like crazy. One of those games that easily could have gone either way.
Star Ocean 3 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 What hurts is that I can't be there to support them. I can't even bring myself to call, it's so bad...these long-distance relationships are so tough.
AntiLeaf33 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Man, looks like that gift of a goal got in Price's head. Didn't look like himself after that one.
Red Baron Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Other than Kovalev, Kostopolous and Smolinski, the rest of the team no-showed.
the max Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Kovalev disappeared after scoring the goal. Lucic was on his ass after that.
CanadianChris Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Posted April 19, 2008 The Rangers are through, probably to face the Penguins next round. That's going to be a fantastic series. I'm going to have fun with my nephew next time I see him. I told him Rangers in 5 before the playoffs started, and he looked at me like I had two heads.
packwingfn Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Man...I just had a horribile feeling that this was going to end like this. I hate when the Red Wings have like 549i94565 shots on net and they end up facing a "hot" goaltender. Grrrr and you cant even blame Ozzie on that goal, that was just a good goal by Nashville. Man overtime is gonna be nuts!
Nightwing Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 As long as we can stay 5 on 5, we'll be fine, I think. Wings need to work on their "5 on 6" defensive play as it always seems to be their downfall in close games.
packwingfn Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 It's overtime though....Anything can happen. A breakout from a bad bounce or something could lead to a 2 on 1 so I'm going to be very stressed out this overtime. And add to the fact that this is Game 5 and it's overtime makes it even worse since Game 5 is the usually the game that ends a series usually as most end in 6.
packwingfn Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 I've decided tonight that I'm getting Johan Frazen on the back of my new red wings jersey
Nightwing Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 YES! God, that was nice. Osgood was great in goal, and the Wings looked dominant as hell. The best part about it was that they didn't take any time off and that they played the whole game. Guys like Cleary and Flip looked a lot more active out there, too. Cleary was moving, not sluggish and out-of-sync like he was in Nashville. Overall, a great game. Ellis stood on his head, and Nashville got the one at the very end, but that they didn't let it get to them really makes me feel good. They really looked like a playoff team there.
packwingfn Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Yeah everyone played great tonight. A good overall effort by the Wings and there was nothing bad about the Nashville goal except how good of a goal it was by Nashville. I'm glad they didn't give up and sit on the 1 goal lead for the whole game like they did in Game 3, they kept the pressure on, they just couldnt get anything by Ellis who played phenomional.
Nightwing Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Wow. Some nice goaltending on both sides of this Anaheim/Dallas game.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Selanne got screwed out of his goal. I don't think Anaheim will win this series but they might pull it out tonight.
Nightwing Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Selanne got screwed out of his goal. I don't think Anaheim will win this series but they might pull it out tonight. Eh, I agree, though I can see why they ruled it the way they did. Better camera resolution would have helped that immensely. And I agree that it looks like they'll take this game, too. Giguere seems to be on tonight.
Zetterberg is God Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Nashville winning would have been an absolute travesty so thank you Johan Franzen for making sure the better team (at least tonight) won. Hopefully the Wings get another solid effort and close it out Sunday.
