Jingus 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 I'm glad that Speed Racer ain't doing so well, and surprised that Harold & Kumar didn't do better.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 I echo the Speed Racer comment and am glad to see Iron Man hold on to the #1 spot (with another $50M weekend to boot, good stuff). Congrats on Sarah Marshall passing $50M as well. Hopefully it does some good DVD business.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 Going to try and get out this week to see Redbelt. Good for Ironman. That movie is all kinds of badass

Ginger Snaps 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2008 Going to try and get out this week to see Redbelt. Has anyone seen Redbelt? I don't like MMA but I want to maybe see this because it's Mamet and it stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, who's good in like everything he's in.

fazzle 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2008 Keep in mind that these are the estimates. By the time the actuals come out tomorrow, Speed Racer could very easily lose to Ashton Kutcher.

I don't like MMA but I want to maybe see this because it's Mamet and it stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, who's good in like everything he's in. I didn't like him as the villian in Four Brothers...of course, that movie was kinda silly anyway. I would chalk Speed Racer's poor showing to poor release timing. In a slower month, that movie makes more money.
Celtic Guardian 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2008 Keep in mind that these are the estimates. By the time the actuals come out tomorrow, Speed Racer could very easily lose to Ashton Kutcher. You called it. Speed Racer fell to $18.6 mill in the actual, behind What Happens in Vegas at $20.2 mill. Warner Bros. may have inflated its initial estimate to hold off complete humiliation. There is nothing wrong about using chick flicks for their intended purposes.
