Well I think it deserves it's own thread, mainly because of the three consoles, the Wii has the best for game downloads.

 

So, in this thread:

Well I was considering Impossible Mission on Commadore but apart from the not a lot.

Splatterhouse 2 and 3, especially 3 as it never came out over here

Mega-Lo-Mania - I fuckin' love this game

Skitchin' - another awesome game

Haunting - I don't know why I like this game so much, but I do.

 

As I said, I think the VC is awesome and really puts the Wii on a high platform for me. It's probably because I love retro games and much prefer them to newer games.

As I've said many times before - we need some wrasslin' games on this bitch. Pro Wrestling, Tecmo World Wrestling, any Fire Pro for that matter. Even Saturday Night Slammasters would be welcome, IMO.

 

I'd also love to see them add an "arcade" area as a system. Think of the tons of great games out there that were never on a home console.

I know we've had the discussions before, but I can't see getting NES and SNES games on VC when I have them for free on my PC. Now N64 games I'll get because the emulations are usually shitty for those games. If they did get some actual arcade games on there like vivi mentioned, that would be heavenly. I don't see what's stopping them. If MAME is available, why can't Nintendo figure out a way to get some of these games to us? X-Men and Alien Vs. Predator would be instant DLs for me.

We (Leena, actually) tried this thread once before and Mole merged it into the Wii thread. But now that the library has grown (as his the Wii thread) and there's Wiiware games, plus we're trying to foster more discussion these days, this is a good idea.

Arcade games would be awesome. I'd love to have The Punisher or the Simpsons arcade game.

 

I can see what Lushus is saying, but I really dispise playing retro games on PC's. They just feel really clunky, guess I just like using a pad.

 

We (Leena, actually) tried this thread once before and Mole merged it into the Wii thread. But now that the library has grown (as his the Wii thread) and there's Wiiware games, plus we're trying to foster more discussion these days, this is a good idea.

Well, you can find the TMNT arcade game on Xbox Live Arcade. I can't attest to the emulation quality, but it does offer online co-op.

The SNK Arcade Collection has a lot of the SNK virtual console releases, but Shock Troopers doesn't run full speed. I'm looking forward to it's inevitable VC release, hoping it runs better (as we've seen the emulation on VC generally be top notch, even when other recent ports weren't).

 

EDIT: It seems a lot of the games on the collection suffer some form of slowdown. Don't buy it.

 

Of course, it's coming out for Wii too eventually, so maybe that will be the best deal.

If the emulation on it is actually good, unlike the PS2 version.

 

Otherwise it's a waste of 20 bucks (or, knowing the way Wii games are often priced, likely $30).
