Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2008 Surprise pick, but I think most of us will agree that after looking at what Vince Young & Reggie Bush have accomplished that apparently Charley Casserly knew what he was doing after all.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 5, 2008 I could've told you that. Never listen to the Booyah's hype. Young is, or rather has turned out to be a poor man's Daunte Culpepper and Reggie Bush is a glorified 3rd down back/kick returner. Mario Williams should've made the Pro Bowl last year, actually. Guest Report post Posted August 6, 2008 It's been eight hours. To fill the void at right tackle, I'll take long-time Bengal Willie Anderson. * 4x Pro Bowl selection (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006) * 4x All-Pro selection (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006)
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I'll take my second defensive end here: Leonard Marshall, RDE Sacks 83.5 (12 postseason) Games 177 INT 2 Forced fumbles 9 Fumble recoveries 6 3x Pro Bowl selection (1985, 1986, 1991) 2x All-Pro selection (1985, 1986) 2x Super Bowl champion (XXI, XXV) Most memorable, of course, for the pictured hit in the 1990 NFC Championship game that essentially knocked Joe Montana off the 49ers. Man, that was vicious.
jwest27 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Okay, I'm pretty sure Broward hasn't PM'd me this whole draft. Don't do me like that, Bro! G Guy McIntyre 5 Pro Bowls 3 All Pros 3 Time Super Bowl Champion It was pretty hard finding a decent guard. While I was looking for one, I also found a center nobody took that was probably way better than the one I have. Dang.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I'll need to have a talk with him and see if I should freeze his team or what if that's the case. This thing could've been done and over with ages ago if we all PMed each other, or if we had selected offensive linemen by group rather than individually as it was first put up for debate. Bored 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I still say drafting lineman by group would have been lame. For my next pick, don't put any 5'10" corners on this mother fucker. Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Well, I've got one of the best offensive minds in Bill Walsh, and I'm now adding one of the best defensive minds in the game... Cornerback. 6'1", 185 lbs. 3 Pro Bowls ('64, '65 and '66) Career (1959-'72): 62 INT's (Lions' franchise record, tied for 7th all-time in NFL), 9 fumble recoveries 171 consecutive games played, a record for all secondary players. A second coach on the field. Started at Ohio State for a national championship team...at cornerback and halfback. He is credited with inventing the "zone blitz" scheme, which Wehrli, Woodson and Fencik would all love. Already made a career of playing in great secondary duos (Night Train, Yale Lary and Barney) and paired with Werhli, will make a killing on the field. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 I'm going with a Devin Hester-killer. A guy who can make life miserable for every KR/PR out there and for my money the best special teams player ever, which is where he'll be playing almost exclusively. WR Steve Tasker Pro Bowl (x7) (1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995)
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Kahran, I'm going to list him as "Special teams" on your roster since you've already said you're not going to select someone dedicated as a return man. That's actually a really interesting idea I didn't even consider. Also, my dislike for Holmgren aside, Bored has put together a really sick well-balanced squad. I'm impressed. Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 With my 20th pick, I select: Jason Witten/TE 4 Time Pro Bowler 1 Time All Pro It was between him and another TE from Big D, and quite frankly Witten is already close in the offensive stats. Although not a great blocker, I like Witten to open the field.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Eddie Meador, Safety 8x Pro Bowl 1960's All Decade Team St. Louis Rams leader in INT's with 46 and John Niland, Guard 6x Pro Bowl 6x All Pro
Gert T 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 With my 21st pick in the Draft, I select: Steve McMichael/DT 3 Time Pro Bowler 2 Time All Pro 7 Seasons of 8+ sacks (Not bad for a DT) WCW United States Champion I was pondering going with the fat ass space eating lineman or McMichael. I've heard enough about how McMichael was a dirty and nasty SOB that he could hang with the centers and guards on the opposite side of the ball.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 Damn. Another guy that Gert takes right before I was about to. Time to go to my back up pick in just a moment. There were three guys I was targeting and McMichael was one. I'll draft the second now to fill out my secondary. I hope the third falls to me. S Jimmy Patton 5 Time Pro Bowler 5 Time First-Team All-Pro 153 Games 52 Interceptions 15 Forced Fumbles 4 TDs
Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2008 I realize now that I should've used these bookend picks on both lineman, because now I'm praying that the last tackle I want will remain on the board. Anyway, I wussed out on the space-eating tackle, basically because I realized that these teams needed beast tackles who excelled at both pass-rushing and run-defense. After all, this is an all-time draft. Here's one... Defensive Tackle, Ray Childress. 6'6", 272 lbs 5 Pro Bowls ('88, '90, '91, '92 and '93) 6 All Pro Selections ('88 - '93) Career (1985-96)- 76.5 sacks, 13 sacks in '92, single-season record by a DT. As adept at end as he was at tackle (drafted 3rd overall in '85 draft as a DE), who Pro-Bowled at both positions, so I'm putting up a fierce 4-3 and 3-4 defense in the same drive. The anchor of a retooled Oiler defense that finished in the top 10 in both pass and rush defense for four consecutive years. Another dirt-tough player; missed only 3 games in his career. jwest27 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2008 CB Louis Wright 5 Pro Bowls 2 1st Team All Pros 1970's All-Decade Team Not much to say. A pretty good cornerback for my team. I'm a little bummed now because I just now figured out how to find multiple pro bowl/all pro players with football-reference, sort of. My team could have been a lot better had I figured that out beforehand. Oh well. I will redeem myself in the baseball draft (whenever that happens).

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Totally easy pick for me here. OG Randy Cross Height: 6-3 Weight: 259 lbs. Games played 185 Games started 180 Fumble recoveries 6 Career Highlights and Awards * 3x Pro Bowl selection (1981, 1982, 1984) * 6x All-Pro selection (1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987) * 3x Super Bowl champion (XVI, XIX, XXIII) Cross was a strong, sort of lighter guy who could play both guard positions and the center positions. Huge pickup for the interior offensive line. I've been eyeing him for a long time now, and didn't want to see him drop any further.

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted August 8, 2008 I'm going to go ahead and scoot my pick in here a little early, but it shouldn't be an issue considering it's a lineman and Smartly Pretty already has his OL done. G-Bruce Bosley According to what I've read about this guy, he was a big strong hillbilly that played college ball at West Virginia. No dummy, though. Graduated with a degree as a chemical engineer. What that meant in West Virginia in the 1950s is anyone's guess. Big fucker for back then, too. 6'2" 240 and built. Bosley was drafted as a DE by the Niners in '56, moved to LG, went to his first pro bowl in 1960, moved to C a little while later, and went on a tear for three straight pro bowls starting in 65. That's the kind of productive longevity, consistency, and versatility I'm all about in a lineman.
MFer 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 My third LB will be... Underrated player that could play both the run and the pass (19 INT's) extremely well.

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Can't find a working, adequate picture. DT Henry Thomas 6'2" and 277 lbs. of equal nastiness while playing alongside John Randle at Minnesota. A beast capable of 80+ tackles and 8-9 sacks a season. Only made the pro bowl 2 times but probably deserved more trips.
