Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Should Shawn count for RR 96 more than Sid because it was in his hometown? Also Kevin Nash drew about 40,000 at MSG. It held that many on the day he won the title.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 The hell's this thread doing down here? Lay off the sauce, Brody.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Should Shawn count for RR 96 more than Sid because it was in his hometown? It was 1997. And the free tickets that were being given away for this event got more people to come out to the Alamodome than any wrestler who was announced for the card. Also Kevin Nash drew about 40,000 at MSG. It held that many on the day he won the title. I don't know what's funnier. The fact that Nash was barely even announced ahead of time as the challenger, or that only 7,300 people were in attendance for this show.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Buddy Rogers had 30000 at Comiskey for a title rematch against Pat O'Connor later in the summer of '61. Bruno's biggest might have been his defense against Stan Hansen, 32000 at Shea Stadium.
BruteSquad_BRODY Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 The hell's this thread doing down here? Lay off the sauce, Brody. General Wrestling?
Naked Snake Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 The recent WWE champions drawn shouldn't really count as the WrestleMania events were sold out way before the card was even booked (let alone announced). It is correct to say the WWE champions WORKED in front of these crowds, but they did not draw the crowds.
Frankie Williams Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Also Kevin Nash drew about 40,000 at MSG. It held that many on the day he won the title. Thats the biggest laugh I got all day. The Garden holds about 25000. I was at that show it was no where NEAR sold out.
Jebus Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 I think the Nash thing is going over people's heads. It's from a TNA Paparazzi Productions skit.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Can someone throw in the TNA champs' stats just for fun?
IronManLUNG Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 HBK was actually 25,628, 1/31/97 in Toronto
