Dirty Boxing is clinching the back of a guys head with one hand and punching him with the other.

Dirty boxing is basically employing illegal boxing tactics to MMA using the clinch by wrapping up the back of the opponents neck, controlling the head, and using uppercuts and elbows (as well as knees) as your weapons of choice).

Anderson Silva at number 4? Yikes. Though I should mention that Jeremy's win, if it's not as controversial as people say over Prangley, is impressive. And seeing as how Anderson beat Jeremy, I can see why they might rank him that high. Although I did hear Jeremy got hurt in that fight.

How is David Loiseau not on there? Also, how the hell did Dan Henderson jump that high when they don't even value his win over Akihiro Gono (seeing as how he's not top ten on this list). Also, why am I even bothering? This list is awful. At least Gurgel is not on there anymore.

Jeremy tore his groin shooting in for a takedown in the 1st round of his fight with Silva, IIRC.

Yeah that's it, so his win over Horn shouldn't hold so much weight, especially considering how much poorer his performances were against other grapplers like Takase and Chonan.

 

Also, how good is Horn's jiu jitsu? Most of the pros speak of it as if it's mythical or something, but I really don't get it. Is it really that good? Has he ever tested it against other top grapplers in sub grappling competitions?

Horn's submission skills are pretty proven in MMA, as he's submitted some good guys and come close to submitting others. Part of his success lies in some of physical characteristics, namely his flexibility and somewhat thin frame. Of course, he still gets hyped up by people like Rogan a bit too much, but that's the way it goes.

 

I don't know much about Jeremy's history at grappling comps aside from his trip to Abu Dhabi in 2000, where he won his opening round match via sub before throwing his match with Hughes in the next round.

They did end up getting the Best Throw award, but were out-"worked"by Renzo Gracie and Marcio Feitosa Souza in the quickest sub department.

As far as gimmick matches go 3-Way Dance! Hughes vs GSP vs BJ Penn!

 

I figure a good standup would be a good defense against losing the first fall. All it takes is one guy to go for a take down and the extra man would probably end them with a RNC. Then we've got ourselves a one-on-one situation.

 

Maybe making it triple threat rules would add some strategy to it.
