Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 Fuck all of y'all Mark Hunt rocks. But I can't saw WAR HUNT because Fedor rocks even more. I look forward to seeing him get slaughtered, or to seeing Fedor get Fujita'ed. Glad PRIDE is taking steps towards having actual title bouts, but I would really like to see more legitimate fights. The thing is Fedor probably wasn't expecting that kind of punch from Fujita. He KNOWS Hunt can pack a punch, so I doubt he'll be stupid enough to want to trade for very long with him. Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 PRIDE has supposedly signed Doerksen, Neer & Wiuff. Joe's a nice one, while the other two... not so much.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 According to Meltzer, estimates on the buys for UFC 63 and 64 are 500,000-700,000. I assume the higher number is for 63.

Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 ATT/"1000% Korean"/ roid rage hate. I would shave a maple leaf into my hair if Doerksen managed to knock Kang into a coma.

Yeah I know, Fedor getting Fujita'ed isn't a very real possibility. I just threw that out there. Doerksen is definitely the best of those signings, I don't know what the point was of getting Josh Neer. He's a journeyman in a division that they don't even have. Signing Wiuff was a good decision. Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Neer's actually going to drop to 160lbs, though his success there will likely be as limited as it was previously.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Probably be worse, considering that he wasn't doing too hot against guys like Burkman and Diaz, guys who weren't huge WW to begin with. PRIDE is just trying to take a guy who is a well known UFC fighter and beat a TUF winner.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2006 Actually, it's probably simply that he was part of the bundle. I doubt PRIDE can really tell the difference between Neer and Joe Jordan.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Marquadt/Lister is likely off of the UFC 66 card and instead will be on the UFN card on January 28th. I'm beyond scared that UFC will make this the main event. They should know better given who's involved.
I like Forums 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Posters already have Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez and "Joe Diesel" Riggs as the main event. I doubt this will change that.

benn 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 For all the other Australian UFC fans, I emailed the PPV channel Main Event earlier in the week and just got this reply. Our Management have been in contact with UFC, however nothing concrete is in place at this time. We are hoping to show them again some time in 2007. Hopefully it goes ahead. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Doubtful. With Mexico, Canada and England being added to the plate this year the Aussies are gonna be waiting until 2008 unless Elvis Sinosic shows up and starts, ya know, winning fights.

Hawkius Maximus 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 I don't think Fedor's going to just shoot in and take Hunt down. He doesn't usually do that. Fedor likes to fight his opponent in whatever circumstance they want the fight in. He's not afraid of any part of the game. He stood with Mirko for almost the entire fight, I'd bet money that he'll stand with Hunt for several minutes at the very least. That's Hunt's only chance, to know that Fedor will try to "Impose his Will" on him that way, and break him mentally. If Hunt can land that huge fucking shot that we all know he can hit, then he COULD drop Fedor...I strongly doubt he'll KO Fedor though. Fujita didn't come close to KO'ing Fedor, he merely dimmed the lights a little, and Fedor recovered rather quickly. Against Randleman, he was slammed vertically onto his head and simply rolled through.. I'd love to see the two slug it out, and see which one falls. I'd actually bet on Hunt to fall to a KO before Fedor, given what Fedor's survived in PRIDE. And even if Fedor was hurt from Hunt's blows, he would take him down and submit him. Hunt's only shot is the lucky world beater punch and a flash KO.

Those kicks CroCop landed on Hunt were absolutely disgusting. Given that everybody goes down to the LHK and Hunt stood up to it makes me think that you might be wrong about this. Cro Cop's foot was injured when they fought in Pride, hence the shoes. Watch their K-1 fight to see Hunt go down hard from the high kick. He got back up, but he wasn't the same for the remainder of the fight, even in the postfight comments!

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 --Yesterday on Figure Four daily when I was asked about UFC buying WEC, and saying I'd heard the rumors but didn't think it made sense. Whether it makes sense or not, the deal is either done or close enough to being done that people close to the situation consider completion as a formality. UFC is in an acquisitions mode. WEC (World Extreme Cage Fighting) runs shows regularly in Lemoore, CA on the Indian Reservation and have TV on Marc Cuban's HD station. Keep in mind that even though it's on national TV, I never hear from almost anyone who actually watches their shows.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 I don't understand the meaning of this news.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 UFC are, it seems, buying another MMA promotiom. Quite why they should is another matter. WEC aren't the big league, so it's not like they're direct competition. You can only assume it's down to the HD TV WEC has, because other than that it would only make sense if UFC consider WEC a potential threat and they aren't yet. I guess UFC is putting the kibosh on something now, when they can, rathen than wait until they can't stop WEC from growing.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Actually, from what I read elsewhere, it's a matter of the UFC getting around its contract with SpikeTV.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Linup for the PRIDE NY Show looks like such........ Fedor/Hunt for the HW Title Fighters apparently on the card are....... Josh Barnett Mirko Cro-Cop Antonio Rodrigo Nogeuira Kazayuki Fujita Wanderlei Silva Ricardo Arona Mauricio Rua Kazuhiro Nakamura Denis Kang (currently injured) Kazuo Misaki Dan Henderson Akihiro Gono Ikuhisu Minowa Mithsuhiro Ishida Takanori Gomi Hayato Sakurai Gilbert Melendez (injured) Shinya Aoki Joachim Hansen (!~) Tatsuya Kawijiri This roster looks too good to be true so expect none of the fights we want to happen to go down. I know that maybe a few thousand people in Canadia have electricity, and much less have an internets, so it's got to be one of you on the board. I haven't watched all of his videos, but his predictions for the fights seem to be pretty accurate, or at least moderately close, then again the outcomes were practically obvious to someone with half a brain regarding MMA (So, not me, that's for damn sure). lollerz.
