razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Out of all the people from the Miletich Fighting System Elite why is Tim Slyvia holding the championship gold? Why can't UFC find a Brazilian, Russian, Canadian, or Japanese fighter to take the belt off of him?
Guest nWoCHRISnWo Report post Posted December 17, 2006 How do you guys see Chris Horodecki as far as a future star in MMA?
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 When his IFL contract runs up UFC will probably take a serious look at the guy. He'd be an asset at 155 or 170 but he might be a bit small for WW so LW is most likely where he'd end up.
I like Forums 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Why can't UFC find a Brazilian, Russian, Canadian, or Japanese fighter to take the belt off of him? Frankly, there aren't that many people who could win a decision over Tim Sylvia in the Octagon. Edit: Assuming Pride talent is unavailable. I really only see a focussed Arlovski posing a threat to Tim Sylvia from the UFC Heavyweight Roster. Vera is very talented but I think ultimately this might be the fight that displays that he is too small for heavyweight.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2006 Vera is technically a better striker than Tim, but Tim does such a good job of using his size to his advantage that I think he will jab and straight/cross his way to a decision victory or get a KO. Same thing with Schilt in K-1, technically not the best striker, but still gets the job done due to his ability to use his size and use it well.

If Rampage wanted to prove to all the doubters that his true God is the almighty dollar then he'd man up and fight Tito. Why didn't Matt Hughes or Rich Franklin man up and fight each other at the end of TUF2? Fuck outta here with that shit... I understand where Rampage is coming from, it's hard to get motivated to beat the shit out of someone you have a close relationship with, and you would want to avoid it by any means nessecary. I'm sure if you ask Tito the same question he would say no, so don't just make Rampage out to be a pussy. This is the same Tito Ortiz who wouldn't fight Chuck Liddell for years because of their close relationship, which Chuck denied. Of course maybe Rampage will fight Tito, should Tito win the belt, but if he doesn't it wont happen deal with it. I'm sure if you asked GSP if he would fight David Loiseau, he would say no also. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 GSP wouldn't say no because he's his friend, he'd say no because Loiseau has looked bad enough lately. And Rampage would fight Tito for the right money, believe that. Black men have wanted to beat on Mexicans for a lot less then what he'd make. On the subject of Tito there's an interview link on UFC.com with Randy where he talks about maybe coming out of retirement to fight Tito again if he beats Chuck. Which won't happen as much as I want it to.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 Why did you come back? This folder functioned a lot smoother in your time off. Seriously, are you going to sit there and tell me that if UFC was throwing buckets of money at Rampage for a Tito fight he'd turn it down? Quinton isn't stupid, he knew that when UFC bought out WFA that there'd be a chance that him and Tito would meet up one day.

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 Randy should stay retired... He should take a good long look at Ken Shamrock over the past year or two and stay retired. Carlito, I'm not going to argue with you. You're convinced you're right, no matter what kind of logic is brought against you. Come back to me when you can show you can be objective about your favorite fighters or even your own opinion. Any one of these fighters will fight anyone else if the money is right, especially considering UFC's pay structure. Considering it is what they both do for a living, if they are such close friends that if they fought, title or no, their friendship will survive it. Its more than a little naive to say that two professional fighters will not fight each other out of friendship. Nuff said.

Its more than a little naive to say that two professional fighters will not fight each other out of friendship. Nuff said. I don't need to argue with you, I've already proven my opinion with evidence. Rampage said it himself he wouldn't fight Tito, and that's all there is to it. I've been objective about my favorite fighters numerous times, infact I believe Chuck Liddell will most likely KO Tito Ortiz in the upcoming week. You have not brought a good enough argument to make me change my opinion, except for the "these are professional fighters bullshut". I posted a goddamn interview with Rampage stating he would not fight his own training partner, yet somehow you are right? But like I said before, no matter how much money the fighters are making to fight someone, it's hard to get motivated to fight someone whom they have a close relationship with. Sure you guys can talk about how they are professional fighters. You can act like this is WWE and partners can turn on each other at anytime, but it isn't, this is real life. Matt Hughes was willing to fight Evan Tanner if he would've beat Rich Franklin and became the opposite TUF2 coach, but he wasn't willing to fight Rich Franklin which would've been a huge money fight, considering it would be the WW Vs. MW champs fighting each other. But Matt Hughes or Rich Franklin ain't professional fighters because they are good friends and rather avoid fighting each other right? Like I've said before, it's hard getting motivated to smash in a person whom you have a close brother-like relationship, or try to injure them. When you get into a fight, you go in with the intent to kill that person, but you can't really get into that mood if the person is a close friend of yours. And it could make it be a very passive fight with both fighters taking it easy on each other. And if you can't understand where I'm coming from, then it is hopeless. I like Forums 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2006 GSP wouldn't say no because he's his friend, he'd say no because Loiseau has looked bad enough lately. You are so incredibly wrong about this. I've talked to GSP face to face about this. He will NEVER fight a friend. Bottom line. Let that sink in. These people are highly dangerous athletes, if they hesitate to land an elbow that may leave a scar on their friend's face forever, it is not only opening up a chance for defeat but it is particularily dangerous. These fighters are real people with feelings. It is not all about money and fighting whoever is infront of them. I have no idea where Curry and Rendclaw got the idea that these guys would fight friends. Hell even in grappling tournaments people from the same camp won't usually try to beat one another. Gracie-Barra grapplers will never go at one another just to win a grappling tournament.

Hawkius Maximus 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2006 Headbutts are illegal for a few reasons. The first, is their inherently violent. You are taking thee most important part of your body and beating the shit out of someone with them. If you've ever seen a GOOD headbutt assault, you can see why their not allowed. You can fuck someone up real bad, really quickly with some good headbutts. On top of that, due to the hard nature of the head, it's very easy to open up a big gash using your head. Even more so then elbows, which are fairly controversial in their own right. If they were allowed, we'd have even more blood stoppages. Another reason, is it's VERY hard to stop a headbutt assault from the guard. With regular G&P, it can be countered by keeping the opponent close, or grabbing the arms. While holding the opponent close will dilute the headbutt a little, you still can't fully stop it. It doesn't take a huge amount of room to generate intense power. One good headbutt from the mount can absolutely demolish a nose, let alone open up cuts all over the face, which inturn can lead to a stoppage, or a long injury. The MAIN reason though, is MMA fights the "barbarian" stigma already. Headbutting is the most "barbarian" attack I can think of that wouldn't be considered cheap such as Royce jabs to the nuts. Allowing headbutts opens up all kinds of worms towards how "inhumane" and "Barbaric" MMA is. That should be enough to tell someone.
