Ken Flo is filling Randy's spot doing color commentary for the main event this Saturday during Huerta vs. Garcia. Anyone want to set an over/under at how many times Kenny says he finishes fights? I hope he's professional so let's set it at 2?

That was a lame attempt to try to hate on Ken Flo. Hope he's professional? When has he ever been un-professional? He's never talked shit, or try to make the sport look bad and put all the attention on him like most self centred fighters. He goes in there and does his fucking job. He's a class act, and I he will likely be the same way when he announces the fight on saturday.

So technically they didn't go back and outright say that he didn't do the steroids. They just went half-assed on this.

It sucks that Hermes Franca gets the full year for telling the absolute truth, and Sherk gets his suspension reduce for lying and bullshitting.

Your proof that Sherk was lying?

He failed the drug test, and look how he's fucking built. Put 2 and 2 together. It's not like the CSAC thought he was completely innocent as well. I personally don't care all that much, BJ Penn pwns Sherk with or without roids.

A lot of guys are super built like that and don't do roids. Besides, Sherk has fought while being tested many times and has come clean all but once.

Not to mention that this drug has been known to produce many false positives.

There is also ways to not be caught, who's to say Sherk hasn't been doing that until he finally got caught? Nick Diaz admits he's a pothead, and he finally tested positive this year. Other MMA fighters weren't suprise to see Sherk tested positive, and most believe he takes steroids.

That picture is awesome.

That's retarded matchmaking if true. Why McCarthy? He hasn't been around in forever. They should give him McFedries, or another MW that has actually been active and been moving up the ranks. When a guy who was a contender at one weight drops down, the guys he fights should be higher ranked not lower.

they probably wanna build Bisping up in the MW and give him a "jobber" but we know those things tend to go :)

From MMAJunkie

"Big" John McCarthy, a legendary mixed-martial-arts referee who made his octagon debut at UFC 2, has scheduled a media conference call for Friday to make a big announcement.

MMAjunkie.com has been told by multiple sources that the legendary referee may be announcing his retirement as an MMA referee, though the news could not be confirmed.

McCarthy, who's also been a Los Angeles police officer since 1985, is withholding comment until Friday's announcement.

McCarthy, one of the sport's most respected officials, reffed every UFC main-card bout from March 1994 to May 2001. Once the sport became regulated by state commissions, he reffed fewer fights, but he's always been a go-to guy for some of the biggest bouts in MMA history.

Of the UFC's 100 total events, McCarthy has been a referee in 98 of them.

A longtime student of Rorian Gracie, McCarthy was awarded a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt back in January. He opened his own school -- Big John McCarthy's Ultimate Training Academy (BJMUTA) -- in Valencia, Calif., back in September 2006. Additionally, the LAPD awarded McCarthy Tactic/Self-Defense Instructor Certification, and he's been an instructor for the police department since 1993.

McCarthy, who is known for his trademarked "Let's get it on!" phrase to start each fight, has reffed more than 500 career MMA fights.

They probably wanna feed him a few guys so he can get... hopefully some impressive looking wins and then feed him to Silva.

Christ, Couture graduated on time right? That's like some Gene Hackman aging right there.

In regard to Big John retiring:

It sucks. I just don't get hyped up for a fight (title or main event) the same if Big John isn't reffing it. Just.. I don't know, maybe the same way WWE fans would feel if Hebner weren't the man wearing the stripes.

I'd say the same thing with Herb Dean as well.

Re: Bisping's opponent being a jobber

I don't care if they want to build him up, people shouldn't be paying hard earned cash to see him get developed all over again. He's been built up already, give him some tougher fights. After the UFC bought PRIDE we were supposed to see better fights on cards, but as far as I can tell the past few have been more watered down then before they bought it.

Was on mmaplayground just now, picking a few upcoming cards when I came to this:

In his extensive training for his UFC debut, Brock Lesnar is dead-lifting Sharks!

Fedor's return to MMA and the entire M1 card is apparently going to be broadcast on HDNet.

Couple that with all of the cards they are running and their Sportscenter type MMA show... I may have to pay the $5 or whatever a month for that tier of HD packages.
