BlackFlagg Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 nice pick, that was one near the top of my list this round
Darthtiki Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 Man, fucking pays to check on the weekends huh? I'm more of a during work TSMer. Anyways, I wanted Night Court this round and thought that it would be there for awhile. But my pick is.... Growing up I was a huge Cheers fan, so I continued watching Frasier after his move to Seattle. Surprised that this was still around kind of. I think that Frasier was among the longest running character on tv and was a good one. I always enjoyed this show. Smart humor and really underappreciated. Damn I wanted that. And I guess I was up during the day (I had no connection yesterday): Magnum PI This show had it all, fast cars, beautiful scenery, a kickass theme and great acting. But above all else, it was the first show on television to portray Vietnam Vets in a positive light.
Nighthawk Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 And it really cemented the mustache as a viable accessory. I'm wearing a thick handlebar mustache right now, and I actually did say "I'd never be able to pull this off were it not for Magnum PI." And I do love that theme music. Nice pick.
the pinjockey Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 My turn to add some 80s cheese to the list The A-Team Mr. T + shit blowing up = good times
CanadianChris Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 This has been a really, really bad couple of rounds for me
Youth N Asia Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 I was on the fence about taking The A Team next...no worries now I suppose
Darthtiki Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 Man, I was hoping to run the Universal 80's action series table.
Jebus Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Thanks Mole for making my pick in the Movie Draft. Anyway, I'm back so here we go... Clone High HILARIOUS cartoon from the makers of "Scrubs". Originally on MTV but that hasn't worked out for a cartoon since the early 90's. It got a big following here in Canada airing on Teletoon (Canadian version of Cartoon Network complete with Adult Swim ripoff "The Detour"). Sadly, no MTV meant no 2nd season. I'm still in suspense...damn you cliffhangers!
treble Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Happy Days I just like watching this show go from pretty funny look back at the '50s into bizarre plotlines where Fonzie's basically a superhero. I also like the later seasons, where Potsie's still hanging around, even though there's no reason for him to be there. Poor guy wasn't even in the series finale.
CanadianChris Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 This was my 90210 growing up: Beverly Hills, 90210
Craig Th Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 PTI Even though it will be re-runs, I'd still like to hear Tony and Wilbon everyday.
Craig Th Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 Greek by Patrick Sean Smith I am almost positive this will make it back to me, but since the shows I DEFINITELY want are only down to two and this is one of them, I might as well snag it now. Though this show can be a bit soapy at times, I still love it. I'm glad they don't throw the typical college show at us with "OMG, drinking is so bad. Wear a condom, etc" nonsense.
Craig Th Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 Anyone want to do 20 rounds instead of 15?
Nighthawk Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Yeah, I could hang with it. Greek is the first show of this draft I've out and out not heard of. That guy sitting in the lower left corner, though, I've seen him before. A lot of people tell my brother he looks like that guy, and he's greatly insulted by it.
Jebus Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 I'm not going anywhere...20 rounds sounds good.
Youth N Asia Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 20's fine. Needs to be an even number anyway
CanadianChris Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Fine by me. My next pick: Whose Line Is It Anyway? (UK) The original, and still the best.
Jorge Gorgeous Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Really? 20? We're going to be taking QVC segments and public access shows at that point.
treble Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Without a Trace I really need some drama, and this is one of my favourites from the past few years. The first few seasons are better than the last couple, but it's still pretty good.
Craig Th Posted June 23, 2008 Author Report Posted June 23, 2008 Yeah, I could hang with it. Greek is the first show of this draft I've out and out not heard of. That guy sitting in the lower left corner, though, I've seen him before. A lot of people tell my brother he looks like that guy, and he's greatly insulted by it. He was in Superbad. And the show is on ABC Family.
Jebus Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Robot Chicken If someone had given me a show years ago, it would have been Robot Chicken. I watch this show and exclaim many times "They took my idea".
the pinjockey Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Time to pull my redneck card and finish my 80s night on the schedule with The Dukes of Hazzard I am at work and for some reason am having trouble getting a picture, so I'll edit one in when I get home.
Nighthawk Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Roseanne Really hits my real life... no bullshit. Seriously... pretty much the best sitcom ever, it's no bullshit how my life was for real... Seriously.
Canadian Brandon Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Aqua Teen Hunger Force Make the homeys say ho and the girlys wanna scream! Yeah. I laugh for a constant 15 minutes every time it's on. Stupid funny humor.
C Dubya 04 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Rosanne really was a great show. Old Becky FTW.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Since I think I'm going to start dating myself in the next couple of rounds, let's get my second and I think final wrestling pick out of the way first. WCW Saturday Night A deep, rich history of awesomely ridiculous gimmicks (I'm assuming, and hoping, I get a shit ton of The Gambler and Roadblock here) and quick undercard matches mixed in with periods of actual relevance, from a promotion I never delved deep into so I'm sure I'll find a lot of stuff to entertain me, both in terms of legitimately good stuff and in terms of stuff like Chuck Palumbo pretending to be Tarzan.
CanadianChris Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 gWIL is up next. C Dubya can pick any time.
gWIL Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 Babylon 5 Haven't seen much of this but i'm a scifi nerd and it would be nice to have something new to watch on the island.
