Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Well, since starvenger got me for my fourth-rounder, I guess my woulda-been fifth-rounder's getting a promotion: Storm
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 That's a sweet looking picture. Also, on behalf of Nate: The Thing The Thing has immense superhuman strength. He can lift at least 100 tons. He has enhanced stamina and his body can withstand extreme environments and abuse. His skin can withstand 15 pounds of explosives. He can live in deep crashing pressures of water, he can go through space without air. Despite his size, he still has a decent amount of agility and movement
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Emma Frost Well, my team needs a leader, and Frost more than fits that role. She has stepped up in the X-Men and handled the job well. She is also important because her telepathic abilities allows her to give orders and plan strategies with her team mates without anyone speaking outloud. In addition, she can turn herself into pure diamond, making her indestructable. You don't want to fuck with Emma Frost, she is a bonafide hard-ass who will mess you up. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Onslaught is available after Magneto was picked? Someone else might have to answer this one as I know nothing about him. ^ Good enough for me. And damn, I didn't plan on picking him that soon, but Mr. Terrific was definitely on my radar. If I need to pick again I will
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Alright, so I've got a leader in Hal.. an inter-galatic force in Ion and a martial artist in Ronin. Now I need a heavy-hitter and to see him still around has made me quite happy. He's a bit of a wild-card but I figure his lust for wanton destruction and the chance to once again bring Logan to his breaking point is enough for him to side up. Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 With my 4th round pick I choose..... Namor, the Sub-Mariner So far I have got the Martian Manhunter, The Spectre, Darkseid and now Namor. Namor possesses a high level of superhuman strength, enabling him to lift/press up to 100 tons while in contact with water; his strength gradually decreases according to the length of time he is out of water and can eventually dwindle to no more than slightly above human level. In addition to his great strength, Namor possesses superhuman stamina and durability, a result of his body’s adaptation to underwater pressures. He also possesses superhuman agility, reflexes, and speed, with a maximum swimming speed of roughly sixty miles per hour. Namor is able to fly via the finlike wings on his ankles, and he possesses a telepathic rapport with many, but not all, forms of marine life. Like all Atlanteans, he has a prolonged lifespan and his body is specially developed for underwater conditions, granting him specialized blood circulation to withstand freezing temperatures and highly developed vision to see clearly even in murky ocean depths. This hybrid physiology means he can survive indefinitely underwater or on land (though he would still need occasional contact with water to survive). When not exposed to water, Namor’s physical attributes gradually decline and can diminish over time to near-human levels, robbing him of his strength and rendering him vulnerable to conventional injuries; renewed exposure to water will immediately restore his abilities. Complete lack of contact with water will prove fatal in about a week’s time. Namor has demonstrated a vulnerability to oxygen imbalance when remaining too long in either water or air, resulting in manic-depressive mood swings; he can prevent this imbalance by dividing his time between the two atmospheres. He has occasionally used scientific or magical means to regulate his oxygen levels Namor had alot of power that can go along way with the team. The only thing I worry about is his ego. Will he be able to put it aside to work with the team?

Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 So which member of the team is going to have super soaker duty to keep Namor relevent? */snarky comment* It wears out after about a week. If anything my future picks will keep a giant saline tank on hand to counter this problem.

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 In classic super battle though, I could see him about to meet his end when suddenly.. a giant storm opens up over head Seems like a fitting end if there were ever a Namor movie.
Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 I'm starting to wish I would have went with my next pick over nightcrawler. I'm fearing they won't make it back to me. I want them on my team more than nightcrawler, but the reason I picked him first is because I thought he was more likely to get taken than my other pick (the x-men seem to be disappearing fast). It seems like I could have let Hellboy go for a couple more rounds, nobody seems interested in him. I don't know why, he's one of the coolest characters ever. starvenger 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 It seems like I could have let Hellboy go for a couple more rounds, nobody seems interested in him. I don't know why, he's one of the coolest characters ever. It's not a dislike of Hellboy, it's a general bias towards the Big 2, I think.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Hellboy was on my radar, but he wasn't a top priority.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 I'm just really going with what I know.. and having not read a comic in close to a decade nor kept up with either universe.. so yeah. I saw the Hellboy pick and went: "Well damn..that's a good pick" ..but I'm more than likely someone who won't pull a gem in the later rounds and my team will pay for it. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Man...Namor would have been my next pick, so I'm going with the one I had lined up after him. Spider Woman Why Jessica Drew? from wiki… Jessica possesses superhuman strength, endurance, reflexes, and speed. She can focus her bioelectric energy into "venom blasts" sufficient to stun or kill normal humans, and she can also adhere to almost any surface. Jessica rapidly forms an immunity to all poisons and drugs, and is totally immune to radiation. Her metabolism generates pheromones which attract human males while repulsing females, though she uses a chemical "perfume" that can nullify this effect. Jessica has lost and regained her powers more than once, but has recently emerged with her powers restored greater than ever. In addition to her powers, Jessica is also a superb hand to hand fighter, and has trained in several styles of fighting including boxing, judo, karate, and capoeira, learned under the training of the Taskmaster. She has also had training in fencing and the use of many other weapons. Jessica was trained by HYDRA (and later on by SHIELD) in covert operations, stealth, and information gathering and is a superb athlete. She speaks several foreign languages, including Korean, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Japanese. Plus she's always drawn to be fucking hot. Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Two choices in mind, so figure I'll go with the one who has more of a chance of being taken in the next few picks. I've already got a mastermind, someone to lay out the plans in Lex Luthor, obviously two big powerhouses, but sometimes a little tactical espionage might be in order. You might need someone to go in and take someone out quietly. And he is essentially Batman, without the conscience. (And meta-human powers) Deathstroke, The Terminator I've always been a fan of his, and he's quite possibly DC's greatest mercenary. "Deathstroke possesses various enhanced abilities. These include the strength of ten men and heightened speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes. He has the capacity to use up to 90% of his brain making him a combat skills and tactical genius, making him adept at turning opponents' own abilities against them, stemming from his years in the military and combat with various heroes. Deathstroke also possesses a regenerative factor in his blood that enables him to heal from physical injury much faster than a normal person. This has also made him effectively immortal, enabling him to recover from what would otherwise be fatal injuries, though recovering from what would be a fatal injury renders him insane and animalistic for a short period." Dr. Zoidberg 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 My next pick is someone that can control the other members of my team. So, with that in mind...a man that needs to introduction... Professor X

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 On behalf of Brooklyn Zoo: Black Bolt Black Bolt's powers are the result of electron manipulation. The speech center of Black Bolt's brain contains an organic mechanism able to generate a currently unknown type of particle which interacts with ambient electrons to create certain phenomena determined by mental control. Through electron gathering and manipulation, Black Bolt can increase any aspect of his physical nature to superhuman levels, including his strength, speed, stamina, and durability. He can channel his power into a single devastating punch called "The Master Blow". Black Bolt's most prominent offensive weapon is his voice, as a hypersonic whisper can level a city or awaken distant volcanoes and cause tremors on a continent on the far side of the planet. And the beginning of the fifth round Adam Warlock Warlock appeared to have enhanced abilities in terms of both his physical capabilities, cosmic awareness and capacity for metaphysical manipulations, such as his granting of enhanced strength to Gamora and Pip in their new bodies. Warlock's early awakening from a later cocoon meant a loss of control of his abilities, and he now appears to have spasms when concentrating. Warlock can, however, now create forcefields around himself and others, manipulate metaphysical energy, travel faster than light and detect wormholes and other irregularities in space. Dr. Zoidberg 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 My team needs a girl. I don't know why, but it just does. So...my fifth pick is: Black Widow The Black Widow has received a variant of the Super-Soldier Serum which has enabled her to remain in peak physical condition for the past several decades, as well as slowing her aging process to some degree. She has bracelets that contain both the "widow's line" which fires her cable, and the "widow's bite" which releases electric bolts to stun her adversaries with a charge of up to 30,000 volts. Her gloves and boots are equipped with miniature suction cups which enable her to cling to surfaces. Her belt contains plastic explosives. Oh, and she's what we call a "Damn." As in, "DAMN! She's fine!"
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 My next pick, has quite possibly the hardest name to google ever in comics. He's someone that no matter the case, with just the tip of a hat, could turn any obstacle in his/or his teams favor. And considering his personality, surely he'd do something to mess with the team, but I have no doubt the guys I already have could handle it. Mr. Mxyzptlk Mr. Mxyzptlk has access to fifth-dimensional technology that to third-dimensional beings may as well be magic. His abilities are only limited by his willpower; for example, if he wanted to turn Superman into dust by snapping his fingers, it would happen. His only apparent weakness is the ability to send him back to the fifth dimension by getting him to speak his name backwards. Though the exact limits of Mr. Mxyzptlk's powers are unknown, his power apparently dwarfs that of even third-dimension cosmic beings.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Good pick. I think the only heroes drafted somewhere that can easily dispatch Mxyzptlk are either Sandman or Darkseid I think I'm going to up my physical toughness The Sentry He's as strong, durable, fast, can fly, and hear things anywhere just like Superman. He has energy blasting powers that are as powerful as a supernova. He can bring the dead back by touching them. He is an average telepath. He paints stripes onto candy canes. He does all of that except for the last one. But still, he'd fit in great with my team.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Pretty cool that half your team is in the background of that picture.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Hahahaha.. I noticed that before. I guess some of my picking is the result of being a Bendis fanboy.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 With my next pick I choose Zatanna All she has to do is say what she it backwards and it happens. Its as simple as that. She is great at teleportation, and getting people to stop frozen in their tracks. Plus, she is wearing the fishnet stockings.
Dr. Zoidberg 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 I was looking for people to draft, and I was SO close to picking Zatanna, but...well, I don't know why I didn't...
Broward83 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Fin Fang mah'fuckin Foom Abilities: Superhuman strength and durability Acid mist breath Shape-shifting Telepathy Flight Master martial artist "Fin Fang Foom possesses super strength, the ability to fly via his wings at supersonic speeds, and can spew combustible acid mist from his mouth ("breathe fire"). Foom is also extremely durable and can regenerate at a rapid rate. By entering into long periods of hibernation, Foom has managed to survive for centuries. He possesses a gifted intellect, can communicate telepathically, and has access to advanced alien technology." Well..he's the other heavy-hitter on my team. I figure while everyone is fighting..we can ride Fin into battle and intimidate those on the battle field.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Now that is an interesting pick. I have no problem with it, be wasn't on my radar at all.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 Awww man, there's an image limit to posts, which I've reached in the first one of this thread. No one ever answered Twisted's question, is there a way to move posts within a thread? (Putting one of mine second.) If not I'll just have to continue posting them in a post under that.
