RedJed 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Is Labor Day weekend numbers usually this small? I'm going to check out Babylon probably later tonight, we'll see how that is.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Yes, Labour Day weekend has historically been a dumping ground for movies that studios know have minimal box office prospects.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 The director of Babylon A.D. has now disowned the movie calling it crap. Like I needed another reason to avoid it.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 The minute I heard that, it made me want to see it. I love troubled productions
BUTT 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Good to see Disaster Movie bombed.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 I know Disaster Movie got some heat from critics for being released the weekend of the third year anniversary of Katrina. And now there's an actual disaster heading to NO again! Oh, spoof movies.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 I hope that with Disaster Movie bombing, they stop doing those absolutely pointless spoof films, or at least cut down in them. Is there anymore similar ones like that coming out soon? I sure hope not.
At Home 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 I saw Babylon last night, and it ranked among the worst movies I've ever seen. Every aspect of it was just utter shit. I had a good time laughing at everything, but don't expect even to be slightly entertained by this movie.

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Wow...that's even worse than I expected. Like I said last week the small fanbases of Drake and Chicken Little are mostly in elementary or middle school---why would they think they would make any money doing an R rated movie with those two? RedJed 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 15 N College MGM $2,105,000 - 2,123 - $991 $2,105,000 $7 1 Well at least they can still tout it as a "cult movie" I guess.....it looked, from the previews, like something that you see every other week on DVD from the National Lampoon brandname. Slayer 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 I hope that with Disaster Movie bombing, they stop doing those absolutely pointless spoof films, or at least cut down in them. Is there anymore similar ones like that coming out soon? I sure hope not. Rumor has it they're working on "Spy Movie" now To think, somewhere there's a perfectly good blacklist lacking Friedberg and Seltzer's names
At Home 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 There are jews behind those movies?
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 The Dark Knight made less but actually moved up a spot. So that's probably another record you can add to it. I've heard Sci-Fi Movie was next but they might as well start filming six of these pieces of shit at once now.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2008 On behalf of my fellow Jew's everywhere, I'd like to apologize. From Wikipedia regarding Babylon A.D.: Director Mathieu Kassovitz has expressed outright disgust with the distributors, 20th Century Fox, for removing the movie from his control and altering it significantly. He described the film as "pure violence and stupidity" and that "parts of the movie are like a bad episode of 24." [15] Early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes give the film a 5% positive rating. You know, I see in a few years this movie being released as a Directors Cut a'la Blade Runner.

Guest Smues Report post Posted September 1, 2008 So how long until we get 'Parody Movie' and the universe collapses on itself?
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 They should just title them all something like "Pop Culture Movie" or "Celebrity Movie" and give up the pretense that they are actually making parodies of a genre or specific film. Parody-type movies have really gone downhill quickly from the days of Hot Shots, Hot Shots: Part Deux, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and so on. I think the last one I actually enjoyed was "Not Another Teen Movie", which was cheesy but at least did a good job of parodying its chosen genre.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 I gave up on "Not Another Teen Movie" when the teacher was ranting about the fecal humor and he got sprayed with shit.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Who wants to bet that "Spy Movie" goes in the completely illogical direction of including a "parody" of Austin Powers? I'm surprised they haven't done "Comic Book Movie" although I'm sure that's in the works somewhere.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 What about Superhero Movie?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 There was Superhero Movie, but that was a Zucker production and not those two clowns Though why Zucker chose to follow the leader on the wonderfully creative "(Genre) Movie" film title is beyond me

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Well at least if they did that, they'd be parodying movies that nobody really likes.
DarKnight 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Why do video game movie since Uwe Boll pretty much parodies those anyway? About Babylon A.D. I knew that movie wouldn't make any money because Vin Diesel sucks. I think he is one of the worst guys hollywood tried to make a star out of. The dude has no charisma, and XXX was just awful. Have no idea why anyone likes that movie. Hell, I thought the sequel with Ice Cube was better!

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Well there was My Big Fat Independent Movie but given it's relative obscurity, it wouldn't be completely unreasonable for Friedberg and Seltzer to take on indie movies at some point *shudders*.
