Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 Bored, I changed my pick from UCLA to Fresno State. I'm not sure if you'd even allow this or not, but if not, then I'll go and change it back.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I do prefer people don't change their picks primarily because I don't want to have to bother with re-checking picks and possibly giving any unfair advantages. But I'll allow it since you did edit your post prior to the deadline and your opponent had submitted their picks before you.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 Thank you. Sorry for the late change though, I was thinking more and more about that matchup particularly and had a change of heart. Being outscored 90-10 in your last two games is pretty brutal.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 Hey, Bored do you mind re-checking my PM, I didn't have it saved when I sent it. I'm not denying that I picked Alabama because I could have done it sloppily but I really didn't mean to, and I would have much preferred to take Georgia at home.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I copy & paste the PM'd picks so you did pick Alabama. I'm actually surprised how few people picked them.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 What was your tie breaking score for that game, Iggy?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I wish 909 and I had picked at least one different game. Tiebreaks are okay, but only when you do something to get there. I suppose that's what I get for picking all favorites, though.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 I wish 909 and I had picked at least one different game. Tiebreaks are okay, but only when you do something to get there. I suppose that's what I get for picking all favorites, though. I think a lot of people try to get "cute" with their picks, and while it may come through for them a couple of times, in the long run picking conservatively and smartly help you more. Of course if this was the case, it would make for one boring contest so I don't really mind.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 I usually make a few picks of underdogs, mostly because I usually spend more than 5 minutes on them and can pretty strong feelings about 1-2 matchups that will go the other way. Busy week at work means less time to ponder my domination. Let's go SEC shootout!
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 7 differences in my game this week and I've walked away with the first 3 so far (UNC over Miami, UCONN over Louisville, and Duke over Virginia). Combine that with Florida's troubles with Ole Miss (which helps LSU) and I'm having a good day. EDIT- Pardon me, *8* differences. With 3 down, that will help me assure at least a tiebreaker with 1 more correct pick and an outright win with 2 more.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 There's nine of us, including your fearless leader, who are 0 for 5 so far this week. And looking at the 3:30/12:30 match-ups 0 for 8 isn't out of the question.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 Well if Purdue doesn't pull this one out I'm 0-3 in the last three weeks.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 Unless Florida State collapses and I wouldn't put it pass them, I'll have a early victory which allows me to enjoy the game tonight instead of worrying about the score.
MFer 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 That tiebreaker's looking pretty good for me with Alabama putting up all these points, but I need Nebraska to win for it to matter.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 28, 2008 Jesus, I wish I would've picked Oregon State over USC now like I did IRL. That would've boosted my PF quite a bit.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 Winning on tiebreak with 7 correct picks will be the highlight of my many years in this contest. Mediocrity, ho!
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 For sake of curiosity, what is the lowest number of correct picks to win and lowest period in the history of this contest? Has there ever been a winless week?
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 I think someone did a 2 out of 14 last year and I seem to recall someone pick 3 out of 20 in a conference championship. Somebody go look through the old threads for me. Carnival right now has a serious chance at 1 out of 14 for this week as his only hope to pick up another point for games still being played appears to be Washington. Edit: Oh you asked to win as well...fuck I don't know. Probably five is my guess.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 If I'm not mistaken, I won this week. In my differing games, I got all but Miami correct.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 A win with a chance to sweep all the differing picks, not bad given my form so far.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 Yes! I nearly sweep my differing picks and have a chance to get back to .500 next week. I would have cried if it had gone to tiebreak...who could have predicted over 70 points in that game?
Mecca 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 Well it looks like I won but I still feel I had a shitty pick week. And once again I still haven't got a VT game right.....that team hates me.
MFer 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 All I needed was either Colorado, Nebraska, or Purdue to win and they all failed miserably by giving up 35+ points to teams not known for their offenses (especially Notre Dame). Fuck a bunch of that.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 So far 7 PF this week and improve to 3-2 but man... doesn't feel like I won with a good week.
