I'm not defending BHC as a quality movie, but there hasn't been an "event" marketed to kids in a while.

 

Plus, the movie got mixed reviews, it's not like it's a Razzie winner.

Are churches buying up all the Fireproof tickets? I've yet to see an ad for it, and I see it's on a low theater count.

 

Looks like marketing Nick and Norah and Juno 2 didn't seem to work. Sure, it's gotta be a cheap movie to make, but they were probably expecting much better.

 

Glad to see Appaloosa do well. I want to see more westerns in theaters.

 

And Blindness ate it for the tons of ads I've been seeing.

Just watched the trailer for Fireproof out of wonder. It looks like a Hallmark channel movie, not even straight to DVD worthy, but Hallmark or Lifetime

Simon Pegg's awful looking movie is nowhere to be seen. Looks like NINTEENTH PLACE! on 1,750 screens. And Spike Lee's movie continues to bomb out

 

Dark Knight is now over $525m

He's doing a Happy Madison movie with Spade next year also.

 

I don't expect him to be as big a star as his brother but he's a solid comedic actor who should steadily get work and sporadically headline a movie

If the movie had made a dent in the boxoffice then he'd have a chance of doing anything, but it went barely top 10, with a wide release, and being a political comedy just a month shy of the election.

As I said, I'm sure if you're a kid it looks like fun, and while it's not getting good reviews, a 44 rating at metacritic isn't awful for a kids movie.

Wow- I was thinking about going to see How To Lose Friends and Alienate People this week...I guess I better do so if I want to see it in theaters. Even if it does sound like it kind of sucks- Simon Pegg+Jeff Bridges= A discount night movie ticket for me!

I don't even know how to accurately describe Appaloosa. It's not a bad movie, but it's VERY poorly edited and felt like a very rushed film. It's got comedy elements that feel very weird and the Viggo voice over work was actually extremely lackluster. Pacing is a serious serious problem with it and it uses up nearly every western cliche you can find.

 

It is just an odd movie cause I don't feel like I was screwed but I don't feel satisfied with what I saw either.

I'm gonna try and go today or tomorrow. Kamala can celebrate his first $1,000 PSA movie for 08! This will be my fourth.

I think with Simon Pegg, people just ignore his movies if they don't have Nick Frost in them. Didn't Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz do pretty well? I'm kinda shocked that his new movie came in at 19th place. I thought anything that had a few ads on TV would at least debut in the top 10.
