lee_hero 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 I live in the south, and finally ROH is coming withing driving distance this Saturday [Nashville]. Anyway, I was wondering what to expect from the live ROH experience from some of you that have been. Like are there any perks to arriving early? Thanks. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 There are no real perks to arriving early. If you arrive real early, you can probably meet some of the wrestlers. Just go and have a good time, live ROH shows are fun
lee_hero 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Thanks for the input bob_barron. I'm expecting it to be loads of fun. Another thing is was wondering, is why is ROH so picky on the camera thing? I've been to tons of WWE, TNA and other indy shows and have always taken my camera. But they seem to really be against the camera.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 It dates back to the RF era. They make their money off DVDs, so they don't want people taking videos and uploading them online. It's really stupid, especially since in 2008, everyone has a digital camera.
lee_hero 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Didn't even think of it that way. Guess it does make sense.
gWIL 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 I'll be there too! Where ya at down south? I'm driving in from Evansville which is a 2.5 hour drive but it should be worth it.

I'm over in the Memphis area. We're looking at a 4 hour drive. We have a huge crew going as I've been trying to get as many up as I can to go. Hopefully they'll draw enough to come back. tekcop 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 I live about 2 hours away from Nashville. I'm hoping I can get off work this weekend.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 They're having their first show in the St. Louis area on Friday. It's only like a half hour away so I decided to go.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Make sure you bring plenty of money. The merch table is gloriously packed with DVDs and they tend to run a buy 3, get 1 free sale on ROH titles.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Do they have shirts and hoodies and such or just the DVDs?
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 Yeah, they have a lot of t-shirts, as well as a lot of the non-ROH DVDs they sell on their website. Sometimes action figures and DVD grab-bags as well.
lee_hero 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 awesome! I was hoping for some sweet dvd deals as I've gotten pretty far behind on the ROH titles.
dorianb 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2008 They're having a buy 3 get 2 free DVD sale (Shimmer and outside promotions don't count). But one thing about the show, after seeing last night's show in St. Louis. Their style has definitely changed from what I was used to. Of course it's up to you to decide whether you like the new style or not, but there is definitely a different working style in ROH now. Still an enjoyable show though, just different. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2008 Was at the St. Louis show. Had fun, stayed after to help tear down the ring. Not the best ROH show I've seen, I wouldn't get the DVD if it were in a different city, but I got a front row ticket to the next show they're having in town, and I got some shirts.
