Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 Well the Lakers have another fairly easy week, a home & home against the Kings. Well if nothing else I get to watch my team continue their fall to pre-Maloof levels.
Guest Czecherbear Report post Posted December 7, 2008 Derrick Rose is already, by far, the best player on the Bulls. What are his chances of making the All-Star Game?
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 Pistons are down 65-43 to the Knicks at halftime. Michael Curry is an awful coach.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Derrick Rose is already, by far, the best player on the Bulls. What are his chances of making the All-Star Game? I'd say they would be great if they don't stick it to him for being a rookie. Iverson will likely get the fan ballot vote, but I don't see anyone but Devin Harris and Rose getting the reserve vote. Rondo, Bibby, Mo Will and Miller aren't having the seasons Harris and Rose are.

Guest Czecherbear Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Derrick Rose impaled himself. He was slicing an apple in bed and rolled over the paring knife. Another one for the lists.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Ugh what is with athletes being completely devoid of common sense.
Guest Czecherbear Report post Posted December 8, 2008 I don't know whether he should be chided for sticking a knife in his arm or applauded for what's by NBA standards a healthy lifestyle, snacking on an apple while staying home in bed. It could be a cover for a knife fight, though. When Larry Hughes said he wanted more minutes, he meant it.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Actually, D-Rose is known for his love of sweets and for having a terrible diet
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Yeah wasn't he notorious for eating meals consisting solely of, like, gummi worms and Mountain Dew? Perhaps he's just never peeled an apple/used a paring knife before. Cut him some slack, guys.
Guest Czecherbear Report post Posted December 9, 2008 You're correct, Byron, he did subsist on gummi worms, bears, and other gelatinosucrotic animals. His meteoric rise is parts refreshing, sad, and weird: he doesn't really go out much or do anything stupid, he just lives in a townhouse in Deerfield down the street from Bulls headquarters, where his brothers keep him company and manage his life for him. I don't get the impression that his year at the University of Memphis really MADE HIM A MAN AND TAUGHT HIM LIFE LESSONS like so many dippy NCAA proponents say college sports will do. I do get the impression that his year at the University of Memphis made a lot of money for the University of Memphis, though.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2008 I interviewed D-Rose back in September, and really did come across like a down to earth good guy, blessed with amazing basketball skills. His older brother Reggie has been one of the main reasons for that, doing his best to keep him on the straight and narrow. I think his one season at Memphis helped him develop his skills and turned him into a more complete NBA ready player. People forget that he really wasn't that great in his first few months at Memphis. Also, during the Final 4 he had to skip out of media day because of a stomach ache. And he's terrified of needles. I do get the impression that his year at the University of Memphis made a lot of money for the University of Memphis, though. I know they sold a lot of #23 jerseys. Now they sell his Bulls jersey! Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 10, 2008 God fucking DAMN what a choke job by the Blazers tonight. Portland's up at home, where they've been undefeated, 108-100 with a little over a minute to play, and Orlando hits three straight 3's, with Turkoglu getting the last one with .5 seconds left. Upside: Next Tuesday I get to see the Blazers play for the first time, so if they lose then, I'll feel much less guiltier about it.

I literally turned off the game at the point you mentioned (108-100 with a minute to go). That's horrendous.
Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 Are there any average teams in the NBA nowadays? Seems like everyone is really good or really bad. I guess Phiadelphia might be average.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 Phoenix is quite average, despite having a lot of big-name players on their roster.
Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 That's surprising. Guess it's the coach's fault. I forgot Indiana. I guess they count. (And I guess I should look at the standings before I keep babbling. But I know there's a lot of great teams and a lot of bad teams.)
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?i...e=ESPNHeadlines The Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Hornets have agreed to a three-team trade that will bring two new guards to the Gilbert Arenas-less Wizards, according to NBA front-office sources. The Wizards will receive New Orleans' Mike James and Memphis' Javaris Crittenton in the exchange, with the Hornets acquiring Washington's Antonio Daniels and the Grizzlies coming away with a future first-round pick. Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 Wow, I was just going to post that. There goes my boy Juan Dixon's playing time! I like the deal for Washington. I like Crittenton, I'm surprised Memphis gave up on him so quickly.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 10, 2008 That's interesting. Maybe there's something really messed up about Gilbert we don't know about? I thought the guy was coming back around January or so. If Arenas is fine, there's going to be a logjam at guard for the Wizzies.

Arenas Dixon Crittenton James Young Stevenson Brown This is a temporary move to try to help the team win more than 25 percent of their games, I would figure.
