  1. Yep on a June 2000 sd. e and c backstage (this is not verbatim but pretty close) Edge: If we beat the dudleys tonight we will so be in the good graces of the Faction Christian: I thought they were called the regime? Edge:Faction Christian: Regime Edge: Faction Chrisitan: Regime Edge: Ok lets just compromise and call them the facgime Christian: Yea we are so working for the facgime tonight Id assume this was a knock on the fact that they kept changing the name of that alliance (speaking of which the alliance circa 01 was originally called the coallition until around summerslam)
  2. Well according to Foley in Foley is Good the original plan was a triple threat match between Mankind, Rock, and Austin, but Shawn Michaels stressed that they needed a one on one match for the Wrestlemania main event. Foley noted that Shawn was actually pulling for Austin/Mankind, but the office went with the more profitable choice of Austin/Rock. Of course a year later they went with the 4-way and ironically enough Shawn himself would be in the three way main event at WMXX. Yea but wasnt austin-rock the plan for months before? and why did Vince listen to shawn michaels opinion anyway? was shawn on the booking team at the time?
  3. If you belive the complete idots guide to pro wrestling, it was so the announcers could joke "dont smoke kids itll stunt your growth"
  4. I would assume it was so he could get the ic title. Bret was wining the wwf title that night and austin would not be facing him until mania (allegedly) so it made sense to have austin win the ic title which could occupy him until the new year. I dont really know though
  5. Mick wanted to quit over Montreal. In his book, he said that you cant say what owen would had wanted and he himself did not want to be there. However he didnt really criticize the continuance. odd site note, Mick was in an office writing have a nice day when owen fell. He saaw the crowd shot on tv but he was watchign a monitro with no audio so he didnt hear a thing. Pat Patterson ran into the room and told him, Mick thought he was joking but he broke into tears. He ran to the hallway where the ring doctor Francois Petit told him that owen was gone (this was before he was pronounced dead)
  6. I dont think it was new, but I may be wrong. But billy was injured from feb-octoberish 2000 so who knows
  7. not all ain attendance knew owen was dead or even hurt they probably figured it was a work. Mick also said in foley is good, how both he and chyna among others were upset how fans continued to cheer and boo despite the tragedy, but most of them didnt know. You can't change the past, so we porbably shouldnt say what should have been done, but I too have wondered what would happen at mania if , say Batista or Trips got hurt or died this week. If it was trips theyd proabbly cancel mania and turn it into a 4 hour tribute show and every raw and sd wrestler would from then on have to use all of trips moves and phrases and praise him constantly (well they already do that last part
  8. They should move it back to The Asylum, they at least had a good local following there. Although they seem to have some regualrs at the impact tapigns and ppvs
  9. jericho just touched on that ayatollah stuff on byte this last week. He said that he wanted a hsirt amde with it, but wwe didnt think it was over, but they ddi a poll on wwe.com and had a few designs for shirts and the overwhelming choice was for the ayatollah one. interesting and billy gunns first name after he lost the mr ass was Billy G. so the one was an improvement of course I used to refer to Billy at the time as "The One(Who Sucks)"
  10. and as for wm 16, as it turned out, wwf was able to pop a big buyrate for backlash by holding off the rock-hhh blowoff, so it wasnt all bad.
  11. foley said that in his 2nd book. And claimed that why show turned face so quick. but why did they have show job clean to austin two weeks before mania 15 on raw?
  12. wm 12 did the same thing, only the wwf title was defended
  13. I am hyped becuase thats the typical wrestling fan response to wm. But in reality its just another ppv, but an hour longer and 15 bucks more expensive. ever since we got monthly ppvs (and now bimonthly ppvs) its lost its sizzle. I am only watching it cuz a friend invited me over. otherwise I would have waited for the dvd. and actually I was more hyped for wm 19 then this one (cuz of hbk-jericho angle-brock and another rock-austin maybe classic0I had no idea austin was that hurt though)
  14. Condolances to the entire family
  15. youd have to think they did TO THE BEE-MOBILE!!!!! You mean your Chevy? Yes
  16. I know, I also have that on tape, thats what I meant when I said I was looking for it.
  17. and a few wcw mags (including the sweet wrestlewar 92 preview with the double cover of Stings Squandron and The Dangerous Alliance
  18. That might have worked. Nice sig Joe, I used to have that magazine, but all of my early 90s wwf magazine that I had prior to moving to cali in 94 were recently lost in a flood at a storage facility in NY
  19. Used video bins are sometimes a goldd mine, I got a wm x coliseum video used in 1997 for only 5 bucks. As well as 2 for 5 and 2 for 10 sales and I got up to about 10 videos used. My latest one was a used Hulkamania 4 for only 2.50
  20. Because shes a peice of ass for Vince. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  21. Actually XPW used to do a similar thing at wwf events in cali. When I went to smackdown at staples in 01 , they had a mess of people handing out fliers (and a few talkign crap). Of course since most of the people there already knew of xpw, it was hradly a success.
  22. And we thought the WWF lawsuit was badd SHEESH
  23. Nah, there've been too many Leisure Suit Larry sequels already. LMAO
