If you don't want people to be able to leech your internet connection, you'll want to set encryption, but I recommend that you don't fuck with it unless you know how. If you do fuck it up, however (and, unfortunately for me, most people who try to fuck with their wireless settings by themselves do), as long as you still have at least one computer that you can wire direly into the router, you should be okay. How did you fuck your wireless settings?

I'm interested in finding an HDTV that supports game compatibility mode, that is, a way to prevent upscaling so old games don't have input lag. Is there a master list available somewhere that someone knows of?

You can send Mii's through the Mii channel, in which the creator of the Mii's will be shown to those you send it to, or set it the Mii you want to send to Mingle, and activate Travel, in which your Mii's will fly through the ether.

I found a neat tidbit: If you want to send an e-mail to a Wii, the e-mail address is [email protected]. I'm not sure if the address sending the message has to be approved by the Wii before it can be sent, though. Probably. I know that a Wii sending an e-mail message out has to do approval.

The screen is less cluttered. In 4:3, there are icons all over the place onscreen. 16:9 is superior for that alone.

What Non-connecting to the wireless internet problems are you having? If your using a wireless router and your Wii won't connect to it, try switching your wireless router to 1 or 11. Apprently those are the channels the Wii reconize. The Wii prefers to look at 1 or 11 because of less interference on those channels; but it can accept a signal on any channel. But seriously, switch it to 1 or 11, that's what I did. Works perfectly now.

You can turn off predictive text input if you want the period to work, just click the triangle that looks kind of like an eject key.
