    Wii

Well, there's a shopping center near me with a Target and a Best Buy practically next door to each other. With the Target opening an hour before Best Buy, I think my chances of getting a Wii tomorrow are pretty good. Still, would have been nice if the independent game store I gave my name to would call me back, as I'd prefer to give them my business instead. Disappointing.
  2. Great. Now I won't be able to safely go outside for about twelve hours. Fucking Wolverines. Well, maybe not just yet.
  3. I got a call from EB saying my copy would be in tomorrow night. Still not sure if I'll be able to get a Wii at launch (shouldn't be that hard, really) but at least I know I'll have Zelda.

    Wii

More than likely the latter. I've heard that nearly every major retailer of video games in the country is going to be getting a significant amount of consoles.
  5. Guh. The Jays would be really pushing their luck with a deal like that.
  6. http://firejoemorgan.blogspot.com/2006/11/...-hat-trick.html Webb sounds like a Japanese advertising executive.

    NFL Week 11

How are the borders determined, anyway? By zip code?

    NFL Week 11

Looks like I'm going to the sports bar again this week. I had hoped Bears/Jets would be locally telecast.
  9. Adkins is a fairly good reliever and Ben Johnson appears to have decent upside, even if he isn't very good right now. While Royce Ring is good right now and has shown signs of becoming great, I'm of the opinion that Heath Bell is a perpetual AAAA reliever and is of no real value to the Mets. Seems like a pretty even deal.
  10. Well, the Hernandez deal I'm kinda ambivalent about, and I imagine the Floyd contract will be something similar to what Frank Thomas got last year (low salary, lots of incentives). Valentin's apparently going to replace Woodward as the utility guy, with Minaya still searching for someone to start at second next year.
  11. Fox has no shame. Not that that's news or anything, but still.

  13. The only really dumb thing the Blondes have done is think that the guys working at the airport had no idea what they were doing and had the nerve to call one of them stupid directly in front of him.

  15. http://www.metsblog.com/blog/_archives/200...14/2499354.html Hernandez is getting up there in years, and two years/eleven million is a bit of a risk. Still, I think it's a decent deal.
  16. http://bluejackets.com/news/press/arts/3316.0.html I honestly don't know if the Jackets' woes are Gallant's fault or not, but I guess somebody had to take the fall.
  17. Mike Nugent of the Jets is on Letterman, where he'll try his best to placekick a ball through a glass window.
  18. The Mets agreed on terms with Jose Valentin to a one year/four million dollar deal, with an incentive whose details haven't been revealed yet. Although I seriously doubt 'Stache will repeat his 2006 performance, I'm still happy with the deal, as it's not yet known whether or not the Mets will be able to obtain a new second baseman. Good lord.

    NFL Week 10

Here are the Bears we all know and love.
  20. Kind of a "meh" episode tonight. It was kinda jarring for the episode to just end after Tyler and James completed their task, with three of the other teams still running around crazily trying to figure out where to go next.

    NFL Week 10

It's a good thing football is so good in every other facet, since they clearly have the dumbest rules of any major professional sport.

    NFL Week 10

Delighted with the Jets' win today. The defense seemed really porous at times (particularly during the thirty-second touchdown drive), but they were just good enough, stopping the Pats twice in the red zone instead of allowing touchdowns. Pennington was decent despite the embarassing interception, and the running game's really coming along, as both Barlow and Washington made significant contributions to the offense. I had given up on the Jets' chances of winning the division after their loss last week, but with a solid performance today and the Patriots not looking particularly strong in general, the hope is rekindled once more.

    Borat

I especially enjoyed the testimonial of the woman whose life became a living hell after the allowed Cohen to be on the local TV news. She deserved to be fired on the spot. A five-second Google search would have revealed who Borat was.
  24. I finally saw Fugitive Alien II last night. Terrific episode, but now I can't get "He triiiiiiied to kill me with a forkliiiiiiift!" out of my head.
  25. I'd be all for picking up the option (especially since Glavine would get a three million dollar buyout otherwise), but everything I've heard suggest that the Mets aren't interested in paying that much.
