Admittedly, seven million is too much for Trachsel, but if it leads to a rotation of Martinez/Glavine/Benson/Trachsel/Seo, then I think it's not too outrageous a price tag. Plus, since they hung onto Trachsel, they now have the option of either using Zambrano (or Seo, I guess) as trade bait or to make him a middle reliever and perhaps let Heilman become the new closer.
Edit: Actually, Trachsel's only gonna cost $2.5 million this year. Check it out.
