  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO @ Va'aiga turning. And go me and X!
  2. 35,000, eh? Well, I'm no Flair, but I'll carry Xero to a three-hour ****3/4 epic.
  3. The last 3 games of the A's/Boston series were all INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE games, and Game 1 was badass as well (even though the Red Sox lost). With the exception of Game 2, all the games were SUPERB, and this might have been the best postseason series I've ever seen. Besides that, I'd have to go with the Bucs/Colts game from MNF a week or two ago, which was superb. I'll let the hockey fans handle their sport, and I know I'm forgetting a really good NBA game from earlier this year. However, my pick for current GOTY is.... Maryland's first-round game in the NCAA tournament against UNC-Wilmington. Maryland's guy hitting the running 3 while falling out of bounds as time expires to win it....god, what a great, great fucking game. I hate Maryland, so I was pissed when they won, but GODDAMN, that was a good game.
  4. Fuck Taamo. (BTW, I have nothing but love for Taamo. Should be an interesting time with this guy getting the book. Hell in Tom Flesher's Dorm Room will finally come to pass!)
  5. BOOYAH! @ that promo.
  6. Hardcore-Gamers Championship Hardcore Match WildChild © v. Quiz Wildchild to retain, in his own match. Wouldn't surprise me if Quiz wrote himself to job this one, though. Singles Match Va'aiga v. Nathaniel "Silent" Kibagami I like Va'aiga's chances. God, that boy is an ass-kicking machine. If Kibs shows up, it'll be a nice battle, though. Tag Team Match The Boston Strangler and Xstasy v. Erek Taylor and Andrew "The Sacred One" Blackwell Erek be getting a boot in the ass, I tells ya! Tag Team Match The Bemani Cross Wizards (Thoth and Ced Ordonez) v. Justice and Rule (Judge William Hearford III & Ejiro Fasaki) Justice and Rule: The Reunion Tour to run wild Main Event The SWF World Heavyweight Championship Singles Match "The Superior One" Tom Flesher © v. Dace Night Taamo to win, but Dace will come close enough to show damn good he really is.
  7. 1) Angle 2) Mysterio 3) Kane 4) Cena 5) Rob Van Dam 6) Matt Hardy 7) Orton 8) Eddie Guerrero 9) Chris Daniels (one indy signing would be a good idea) 10) Triple H
  8. *drags TNT back into the fed* Make it a 10 man!
  9. It's all good, Marky Mark. Take your time, get a little sleep at night, and put it up when you can. If we wait a little, we wait a little. Not the end of the world.
  10. OK. Skimmed the show, and I enjoyed it. The double no-shows aren't cool, but hopefully that's not an indication of any major problems. Coolest thing (besides the TBS/Erek stuff, which is easily the coolest thing of all time in recorded history, with the possible exception of the Declaration of Independence): Justice and Rule are BACK! A flaming table is very uncharacteristic of those two, which is actually kind of cool. Let's see what happens with all this tag team turmoil going on. We got Sin-Quization and Justice and Rule and Crow and Crane and the Trinity and the Benami Cross Wizards....tag team craziness is RUNNING WILD!
  11. The World Series was cancelled in 1994, due to the strike. It also wasn't played in 1904, due to the manager of the NL team (I think it was John McGraw and the Giants) not wanting to play after the regular season had ended.
  12. OK, I'm a Sox fan, so I'm slightly biased here, but I don't see either man's actions as anything to really get worked up for. #1: Manny Ramirez. If you watch Manny any time he hits one that he knows is gone, he drops the bat, takes a few steps, and watches the ball before starting to jog. He took slightly longer in this one, but it was just typical Ramirez. Nothing personal against the Athletics. #2: Derek Lowe. It's hard to defend him making the gesture to the A's dugout, but I doubt it was a premeditated thing. He just came in an extremely difficult pressure situation, and somehow pulled it out. Right there, he was just in the moment, and wasn't thinking about it at all. After he had calmed down a little bit, and realized what he had done, he did the only thing he could do, and apologized for his actions. People make mistakes, and when you've won a playoff series, you aren't thinking incredibly clearly. He took responsibility for the action, and apologized. Nothing more he can do, folks.
  13. 1) Viewtiful Joe 2) WM XIX (if you have friends to play with you) 3) Metroid Prime 4) Zelda 5) Animal Crossing 6) Super Smash Bros. 7) Mario Golf 8) Eternal Darkness 9) Timesplitters 2 10) Mario Kart (come November)
  14. Um, dude, it's a San Fran story. Not reported in any Boston papers. And under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you insult the phrase "cowboy up". COWBOY UP, BABY!
  15. Good review, Barron. I'd give the Yankees cartoon about ***3/4 stars, but otherwise, I pretty much agree with your ratings. A lot of good skits (nothing standout, though), Jack Black ruled, a quality Weekend Update, good use of the new talent, and a very nice season opener. Good call on the review.
  16. OK, we've completed the cycle. The first post here is for Mak's birthday. Now this one is for Mak's. Time for a new birthday thread. And happy b-day, Mak.

  18. If it makes you feel any better, I lied to my tag team partner too.
  19. King, I just said the same thing... (1:28am)* Strangler will consider himself a success if one day, someone makes a big deal out of hitting someone with a Massacre
  20. And on the commenting note: This should be the biggest comment thread we've ever had. No one has matches, and we have the best show in history sitting in front of us. Make sure every match gets some comments, as well as the bigger promos *coughTBSErekcough*. I will be glad to comment on as many matches as possible, so just catch me when I'm around, and I'll see when I can squeeze it in during schoolwork and such. Now everyone, make many comments. This has to make it to 3 pages AT LEAST, and maybe even 4.
  21. SILENT VS. EDWIN MACPHISTO - COMMENTS First off, mad props to Kibs for doing this just about all by his lonesome. If he had fucked it up, I would have gotten him banned from life. Now, to hte match... - The line about Edwin being an old friend was very accurate. I loved that line. - Edwin hitting the enziguri early is nice, since it sets up the finish beautifully (I admit, I cheated and read the finish first) - Edwin’s crowd working was dead-on with the MacPhisto character, and it was a cool thing in such a serious match to have a little levity like that - Comet stumbling over the Kibagami/Silent thing is cool, since it plays up the difference between the two sides to Nathan’s persona. I’ve noticed it a couple times already, and it’s a cool little thing that got thrown in there. - So much striking at the beginning. A little much, but I think I see why it was put in there. - Glad to see Edwin is feeling the effects of his time off from the ring. The writing says that he needs to step it up a notch, and it’ll be interesting to see if MacPhisto still has that extra gear. - Another thing I like is that the people aren’t going down for the count early. That gets done too often, and cheapens the later part of the match. Good call here. - If you ever refer to Edwin’s cheeks as “impeccable” again, I will no-sell everything you write, EVER. - Cool sequence from the Demonstar to Union Jack to Encore Cross. First huge move of the match, and the much-anticipated counters to the Demonstar make their first appearance - A second Demonstar counter. Anything that involves Edwin backflipping into a 3 point stance is very, very quality - The Air MacPhisto is put over nicely, and then Kibs’ mission is made clear once again. It’s a VERY good idea to hit people up with the reminder of how much this means to Nathan, since it can be easy to forget in the middle of a match. Good, good segment right there. - Slingshot German off the cage = badass and a half - Going to the Grudge was a nice idea, since that match has so many connections to this match. Good work playing it up. - When Silent takes control, you just feel this cold rush come over you…but Edwin keeps getting the cheers, and he keeps standing. It’s a little bit of an odd juxtaposition, but with the overall theme of the match, it works. Perhaps not the best way it could have been done, but it does its job here. - When Silent shakes his head, and that whole line about “I don’t want to do this”, that seems very out of place. The rest of the match had been about how Silent WANTS to do this, and it seems like Kibs letting up here and not going for the Demonstar is rather out of place. - Well-written comeback by Edwin, and the second reversal of the Cocktail O Shame really deflates the crowd again. - When the fans and commentators finally go quiet, this match gets meaningful. It shows that it’s so far beyond the norm, and that this is really important, deep shit. - BTW, did I mention how much Galatea Specials rule? Because they do. - Goddamn, the Joker’s Wild comes up all the time now. It’s actually starting to get a little clichéd. It’s a cool counter, though. Still, I’d have loved to see Edwin bust out a Raynor move or a Grand Slam move here instead. - As soon as I type that, you go for the Walk Off. There we go. - Now we hit the other side of the equation, with old Clan finishers. All the big moves come out, and I mark for the Stigmata. Still, I would have loved to see a Raynor move make the cut. - The Silent chant creeps me out. That seems like it’d be the hardest blow Edwin would take all night. - Edwin just keeps getting up. I’d like to see Silent stay a little more focused on the Demonstar, really, but overall the long-term plan of this match has been stuck to pretty well. - Can I say anything about this finish? The enziguri stuff, Mark and King’s reactions…it’s perfect. The match was pretty good, but the finish was perfect. - Now, to find out what the war is. In conclusion: Obviously, I really, really liked this match. It might have been about 1000 words too long, as it dragged JUST a little bit in the middle. The emotion wasn't perfect, but it was there for most of the match. The enziguri spots really linked the entire match together, and made for a truly incredible experience. And even if I disagreed with a few places inside the match, I don't think you could have written a better finish. Absolutely perfect, and with a true sense of finality. Excellent job, Kibs. You earned this one, and you should be praised for going out and writing this. It was a big part of making this the greatest show of all-time, and I can honestly say, after the fact, that the Edwin/Silent angle was a good thing (which I had serious doubts about for a long time). Congrats, and here's hoping you don't go and retire on us after this. Ride the wave, baby. Ride it long and hard.
  22. *Notes that King did not mention him for writing the best promo of all time, being the Skybox Hall O' Fame.* *cries*
  23. I don't think I've ever posted here before. But seriously, go over and read Genesis IV. This is easily the best show the SWF has put on in three years. I think it's really worth a read.
  24. The show is here, people! Great start to everything! Post the markouts here!
