Munich is still around to a small degree. I talk to him on AIM sometimes, and he does check in on the fed.

I'd fault them for the commercial breaks in the middle of the matches, but they're trying to sell the PPV's as best they can. When they offer a taste of a good product, then advertise longer matches with no commercials on PPV, it's a fairly effective system to sell it. If you can deliver the quality wrestling, that is.

XCalibur v. Annie Eclectic ---> Well, I really like this matchup. I get the feeling that they'll mesh nicely. However, Annie will rebound nicely from her loss to Craven and stay alive in the tourney. CIA v. Judge Mental ---> I get teh feeling Drew may have disappeared again. Judge to win, even if Drewski shows. "The Sinner" John Duran v. Dante Crane ---> Duran and Crane should be another quality match, but Crane should prove to be victorious, despite a strong showing from Duran Duran. Crow v. Quiz ---> Crow is quality and all, but I get the feeling Quiz is gonna play spoiler here. Quiz to block. "The Franchise" Mak Francis v. Jay Dawg ---> I back the Mak once again. Viktor Tarankov v. "The Sacred One" Andrew Blackwell ---> Sacred's gonna own Thorakanov, old-skool stylez. Show v. Michael Craven ---> Craven to win again, and to continue to prove to people that it isn't a fluke that he's in this one. Nathaniel Kibagami v. Apostle ---> Kibs. No fucking question. Kibs to maim, kill, destroy, and snuggle Apostle....wait, my bad. Scratch kill from that list. Main Event Danny Williams v. Ejiro Fasaki ---> I really want to see Ejiro win this one. I really, really, REALLY love his character (he's the best true heel on the show, with Tom being gone lately). However, Danny's no pushover in this one. My heart says Ejiro, my brain says Danny, and my fingers are typinig out a CIA pick.

Smarkdown Comments!
TheBostonStrangler replied to Crippler Crossface's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Great, great show. Thugg wrote a ton for this show, and the promos kicked some major ass overall. The tourney action was great, and next round is looking to be even better. I may or may not comment all in-depth, due to me packing up for college this week. We'll see what happens. -
Trash is on there, Thoth. I gotta say, it's a pretty thorough list. We couldn't have missed many.

The Wrestling Identity
TheBostonStrangler replied to Secret Agent's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but good work, Johnny. -
McMahon HAD to be involved in that heel turn. There was no other way to turn Austin heel.

For the record, I don't like this guy because he ripped on Boston. *hits J.T. Playa with the SWF Title belt, since I haven't mentioned that I'm SWF Champ in almost 28 minutes* Strangler does what Strangler wants, and Strangler wants to beat on some fool. Can you dig that, sucka? Cuz Strangler can dig it.

An open letter to Linda McMahon
TheBostonStrangler replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in The WWE Folder
The letter makes a couple of good points, but if I was working in the WWE offices and got this, I'd laugh my ass off and chuck in it the trash can. It's poorly, poorly written. -
I guess I missed this somehow.....absolutely gold. Mike is still just as stupid, too.

SWF Rumors: Grand Slam, the Kliq, etc.

You know you like it. And Lynn DEFINITELY likes it. -
SWF Lockdown card!
TheBostonStrangler replied to Edwin MacPhisto's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
I'll use an anagram of my name too! Patrick Hannon ..... I suck at these things. -
Right now. Hell, both the Title matches at Summerslam are pretty up in the air. Jericho, HHH, and Goldberg all seem to have some momentum for winning the Elimination Chamber, and Lesnar/Angle isn't a definite either way.

Genesis Tournament Brackets
TheBostonStrangler replied to Kaertos's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
This might be the first time in history that anyone has publicly admitted to taking my ideas seriously. -
Heel Brock vs. Face Kurt wouldn't have been the ME at Wrestlemania XIX, since Lesnar had turned face in order to feud with the Big Show. Show broke the ribs a few weeks after the turn.

Genesis Tournament Brackets
TheBostonStrangler replied to Kaertos's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Ummm.....this could just be me, but it looks like we don't have enough shows to pull this tourney off. We have a total of 8 shows, including this one. However, to get through the loser's bracket and everything, you'll need all 8 shows. Therefore, you don't have any time for a showdown between the winners of the two brackets. -
Who Will Win It All...
TheBostonStrangler replied to The Amazing Rando's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
A) Sacred will win this tournament B) The winning bracket will be Sacred, Nathanial Kibagami, and Judge C) The losing threesome will be Mak Francis, Ejiro Fasaki, and Danny Williams -
Michael Craven vs. ??? - Craven to walk away with the bigtime W over Stone Froze...aw, crap. King's gonna kill me. "The Sacred One" Andrew Blackwell vs. Xcalibur - The Sacred One > j00 Nathaniel Kibagami vs. English Dragon - Kibs is gonna go a long way in this one. Kibs to win. Jay Dawg vs. "The Sinner" John Duran - John Duran to win, regardless of whether JD writes or not. This kid's got some real talent. Crow vs. Apostle - If there's gonna be an upset, this is it. I'll still take the stupid fucking bird, though. Quiz vs. Mak Francis - Can Quiz go 2 for 2 against Mak? No. No he can't. Danny Williams vs. Viktor Tarankov - Thor to win. OK, I was kidding. Danny, of course. Dante Crane vs. Stryke Crane to take it. Dace Night vs. Ejiro Fasaki Toughest match to call on the card, IMO. I'll take Fasaki, but I expect that Dace could go a long way in the loser's bracket. CIA vs. Spike - CIA to win. Show vs. Aecas - This is the other match that could be an upset. I'll take Show, but Aecas has a shot at this one. Judge Mental vs. Annie Eclectic - Great, great match to main event. I dunno...Judge, I guess.
-
I was the first one who knew. I > j00. Great to have Spike and Annie back in the fold. I'll try and bust out some detailed comments, due to my lack of bookage, on Monday, since I have work tomorrow.

Yeah, Cena should be in the pride category. I'm on the fence about whether to include Albert as a shame-worthy guy, or just leaving him off altogether. He's not THAT bad, but he doesn't fit in the pride category either...

The Calvinball match ruled, and not just because I was in it. Go Liston!
-
Alley > Clan.
-
Oooh, I have a good idea for something that could never, ever happen! - Ejiro Fasaki goes on a huge winning streak, develops a loyal fan base inside and outside the SWF, and finally becomes SWF Champion to the thrill of all.

INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT vs. DOUBLE JEOPARDY vs. UNHOLY TRINITY Double Jeopardy have the worst theme ever. I’ve mentioned this to Show repeatedly. CHANGE IT. I’m liking Quiz and Show’s antics at the beginning, and I almost wish they were face. This gimmick would click better as faces…but they’ll make it work as heels. I’ve mentioned in earlier posts that the gay jokes with Riley really aren’t all that funny, so there was a little too much of that early in the match. Good work establishing DJ as heels, since they had been fairly face-like to start. Another thing: Don’t reference the WWE if possible. Just takes me out of the element. Watching Va’aiga destroy Quiz is well-written, and strangely enjoyable. The tagging in and out is well-done, and seems to make sense when it’s done. It’s easy to lose track of people, so good work having most of this make sense. Mak tagging himself back in seemed a little out of nowhere, but it’s still cool. I had liked what CIA was doing, though, so it was a little disappointing to me. Taking down Mak with a knee injury really levels the playing field, and makes for some interesting psych work in a triple threat. Dace kicking ass was well-written, and there were some good near-falls. And for the love of god, get rid of the “American Idol Bomb”. Worst. Move. Name. EVER. Replace it with the $64,000 Pyramid Price is Right Name Game Slam or something. I also love how Va’aiga goes nuts after Soapdish is knocked out. The match is really a clusterfuck, as a match like this is bound to become. That’s a unique tag finisher, and it’s pretty cool. Nice way to get the pin fairly systematically, and you put Va’aiga over huge. Nice work, although somewhat unpolished, but as the champs get used to these characters a little bit more, they’ll be great. GRAND SLAM vs. THE SUICIDE KING Solid entrance by King, and the setup is laid soundly. I would have liked it if Stevens had gone back and edited in some of the instances where he publicly denounced King, and have King just display them on the SmarkTron. It would have been a good way to illustrate it. Stevens actually sounds a little wooden during his impassioned speech to King, which is surprising, since Mark generally wrote natural-sounding commentary. Still, he makes up for it with the challenge to King, which is very well-done, and made me want to see more of them. King actually firing him made me very sad, even though I already knew it was coming. Overall, a good storyline promo. However, it would have been nice to set it up with some of the history of your feud, just to bring the newer guys into the problems you’ve had. Hell, just repost the Edwin vs. Grand Slam match. That’d be enough right there. That’s my favorite match, in terms of pure emotion involved, that I’ve ever read in this fed (although Edwin vs. Raynor comes fairly close). So if you just bring back some reminders of the old days, I get the feeling a lot of people will really get into this feud. God knows you and King can still write with the best of ‘em. Janus/Crow and Tom/Frost comments later tonight, maybe tomorrow.
