Speaking of AD cast members in movies, I wonder if the GOB/Odenkirk flick (Let's Go to Prison) will be any good.
-
Yeah, from what I've been told by people who have seen the movie and read the screenplay, the trailer really doesn't give one the best idea about what the film is really like. Think of Kaufman flicks like Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine, and other flicks with that sort of feel.
-
I've been excited for this one for over a year. In the industry, screenwriter Zach Helm is known as the next Charlie Kaufman and the screenplay for Stranger Than Fiction is widely regarded as the freshest screenplay in years. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I know people who have.

It wouldn't shock me to see Slaughter get picked. It just depends on which type of fan votes the most. (and who WWE votes for over and over again)
-
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
WCW used to do this back in 1995 and before on Saturday Night. You could pick one face from the face locker room and one heel from the heel locker room.
-
Is it just me, or does Vince seem off tonight? I don't even mean because of his screw-ups. It's just the way his voice sounds tonight or something.
-
Haha, the WCW champion.

Talk right now is that right before launch, Nintendo is going to let us all in on a surprise about the Wii that no one knows about yet. The word is that it's either that they are also going to have Wiiplay as a pack-in game also, or they'll include two complete controllers with the system. As of right now, the two controllers theory is seeming the most likely.

I always thought the Heenan line was fine also, and went right along with his character and hatred of Hogan. One of my favorite things about Hogan's heel turn was hearing Heenan able to say "I told you so!" once and for all for the next few years. Great, great stuff.

It was stupid for him to be in the position to be busted in the first place, especially since he was the WWE and ECW champ. I'd order that card in a second. Then again, I order every WM, so whatever. They have the chance to put on one hell of a WM in 2007, that's for sure.
-
Yeah, the point isn't that he smoked pot. WWE understands that he's into that, and have always known that. I don't even think that's one of the drugs that they test for. Like Mecca said, the issue was that he was stupid enough to do it and get caught by cops, leading to bad press for their world champ, who happened to be holding not one world strap but two. I don't think that they'll hold it against RVD though, and I do expect him to be champ again.

I think some of you might be interested in this, so what the heck. On 12/05/06 they are releasing a director's cut 2-disc set of the Heroes Of World Class DVD. You can pre-order it from DDD for $13.29, and you can pre-order it from Family Video using the $5/off coupon (NEWMEM96, first order only, although you can sign up with a new email over and over if you want) for only $8.48.

There is a long ass listing of everything in the main feature somewhere in this thread. Here is the match listing again:

I'm not even close to as far in the game as I thought I was. I'm at around 20% with 10 hours logged. I've spent a lot of time just fucking around though. I just did the boxing deal, and while I did enjoy it, does it ever get any harder? There wasn't even a second where I was ever in danger, and only got knocked down once. I went through all of the boxing training, or whatever it was, then did the challenge to get the beach house.

I do not understand the ratings for TNA here lately. I've enjoyed the shows quite a lot over the past month, and since Russo has been brought on board, even if a few things here and there are obviously "Russoish", the shows have had a certain kind of flow that they had been lacking before. Not to mention that Kurt f'n Angle was brought in. I'm sure someone will respond thinking they know it all, but come on. There's no excuse why the ratings haven't at least went up a little bit. EDIT: It looks like they did go up after he showed up from the previous two weeks or so, but only from a .7 to a .8 or so. The ratings have pretty much remained stable. They haven't went up though, at all, and that's got to be viewed as a huge letdown for TNA right now. I'm hoping that they go up once they hit their new time slot. One would have to think that they would at least start to average around a 1.0 once that happens, since it'll be airing about two hours earlier.

Citizen Kane?

Oh bloody hell. Please, the last thing I want is Chris Benoit in an "Eddie" feud. Come back Rey, come back so you can stay stuck in that pointless rut! Now if only The Great Khali comes back to help Ken Kennedy take on Kane and Taker, it would be the exclamation mark on this show.

David Taylor looked like he was in a lot of pain, and damnit to hell, I just loved seeing Tatanka hit the ref and beat the shit out of Lashley. I still don't understand why JBL hates certain heels though.
-
I'm actually home to watch it as it airs this week, so what the hell. Are any of you watching it at all?

I know this was mentioned in the other thread, but what the hell. We'll need a thread for all of this for the upcoming year anyway. The Four Horsemen DVD is the one set that I've been looking forward to more than anything else that WWE can possibly put together. There is a lot of good stuff here: http://www.wwe.com/shop/dvd/upcomingdvds Armageddon 2006 1/16/07 ECW Extreme Rules (2-disc DVD) 1/30/07 New Year's Revolution 2007 2/06/07 The New and Improved DX (3-disc DVD) 2/20/06 Royal Rumble 2007 2/27/07 Royal Rumble: The Complete Anthology 3/13/07 No Way Out 2007 3/20/07 Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen 4/10/07 WrestleMania 23 5/22/07 Backlash 2007 5/29/07 Great Families of Wrestling 6/05/07 Judgment Day 2007 6/19/07 ECW One Night Stand 2007 7/10/07 Vengeance 2007 7/24/07 The Great American Bash 2007 8/21/07 The Ladder Match 8/28/07 The Triumph & Tragedy of WCCW 9/18/07 SummerSlam 2007 9/25/07 Unforgiven 2007 10/16/07 Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man 10/23/07 No Mercy 2007 11/06/07 John Cena: My Life 11/06/07 Stond Cold Steve Austin's Life & Legacy 11/20/07 WWE Cyber Sunday 12/04/07 Survivor Series 2007 12/26/07 ECW December to Dismember 01/01/08

I bought Halloween 2, 4 and 5 and the Halloween 25 years set for $4.99 each at CC, as well as The Hills Have Eyes (original) 2-disc at BestBuy for $6.99 (I believe that's right).

-I hate the way they are doing the tourney. Why does TNA make up these wacky matches that are so hard to follow for some people? Seriously TNA, what the fuck? -Lance Hoyt vs. Abyss was way better than it had any right to be. -I know that some of you will never admit this, but I believe that JJ will get over as a face in a big way. I'm fine with it also, as long as he stays away from the title, at least for a good while at the start of this new direction for him. If they go into all of his personal problems and use that as the excuse for his heelish actions all this time, and then explain all of the sacrifices that he made in order to keep TNA alive, I think it'll work on the TNA fans. -I'm still very much into the Joe/Angle deal. -This was the first TNA show in a while where I thought that they would really benefit from a two hour long show, but that might just be because of the crazy tourney they were working with tonight.
