I think that for those who just have a passing interest in the guy, this DVD will make them think a hell of a lot more about the guy, and will get them interested enough to the point where they want to see more of his work.

I don't think there is a bonus disc at FYE, so just pick it up anywhere. I will say this though, I wish I had bought this off of WWE.com since I paid $19.99 for it at Best Buy, and I could have given just a few more bucks for that awesome shirt. That's one hell of a deal if you ask me. This is one of those DVDs that can be looked at as a must own in my opinion. The main feature is one of those that I think all wrestling fans should watch. Not just because of his battles with demons, although that's a huge part of it, but just so wrestling fans who might not know a lot about the guy, can see one of the true greats in psychology and on the stick of all time. The main feature is great, possibly the best one WWE has produced yet. Now, on to all of the special features.

Oh lord this is a great DVD. The Honky Tonk Man guitar shot on The Snake Pit is one of the funniest things ever, I haven't seen that in years. They play it over and over again, even in slow motion. That DDT to Steamboat, holy crap was that a sick spot. The sound it made, and then seeing Jake pick him up and put him in the ring, it was just disgusting. It's also great seeing them take yet another shot at Warrior, I can never get tired of that.

I have only watched about 10 or 15 minutes of this DVD and I can already tell, of course we really already knew it, that Jake Roberts is truly a masterful storyteller. So far this DVD is just him sitting there, talking about his life growing up, and its some of the most interesting, heartbreaking, and well told stuff that I've ever heard. I haven't even really gotten into the part where, you know, he talks about his wrestling career yet. If the rest of the DVD is this solid, then it will be without a doubt, one of the best DVD releases ever.

You know, hearing Styles right now really highlights just how shitty WWE's commentating has been.
-
Joey Styles just started, and it's already a breath of fresh air folks. He has a great voice, and he knows his shit. He needs to stay.
-
That's bound to happen down the line. I'm sure they wanted to do that in the past.
-
I don't think Flair will have the IC title come SS. If Flair beats HHH tonight, I see HHH costing Flair the title on an upcoming RAW, and their next match will just be a straight up match, with no title involved.
-
I believe that JR had started to get very vocal about certain things in WWE as of late, and Vince and HHH haven't appreciated it at all. I guess that has a lot to do with it.

I can't wait to hear Styles try to put over a horrible angle. After hearing him say some of the stuff that he's said in the past, it would just have to kill him a little bit inside each time he does it. Of course they could give him a gimmick, well a gimmick of sorts, where he's free to somewhat speak his mind on air about what he's seeing. That would be...interesting.

One and Only Star Wars Geekiness Thread
Downhome replied to Black Lushus's topic in Television & Film
I got Episode III with the bonus disc at WalMart today. It doesn't look like anything special, but I guess it's cool to have. I'll give it a watch pretty soon. -
Going from JR to Coach was bad enough, but Styles to Coach? Yeah, they need to do whatever they can to sign him full time.

I can't express my anger at WWE enough for fucking up the Manking character. I don't know if it was all WWE's idea, or maybe Mick Foley himself (I've never heard one way or another), but whoever's fault it is, I hate them for it. The original Mankind is perhaps my favorite character of all time. The original Goldust character would be up there as well. Both were far too perfect to screw around with.

I signed up for the free three day trial for the PWInsider Elite program, and today on the "hot news" hotline Dave Scherer was talking about the entire Torrie situation, which we all already know about, then he went on to say that a few of his sources have been telling him lately that Vince and others in WWE has started to read more and more things on the internet, like message boards and news sites. Then we have that stupid stuff with Coach and, I believe it was Scherer also. Is any of this really anything WWE should concern itself with? Eh, it just goes to show that much more just what the mindset is with the powers that be in WWE right now I suppose.

I loved his comedy just like most everyone else, but I actually liked Goldust even more when he was the psychology based heel, a totally serious character. It was back then when he was a major player, and looked at as an actual threat. I'll never understand why they had to push the character off the deep end back in the day, which was nothing less than horrible.

Once again, from PWInsider (all of these net reporters are staying busy here lately):

I usually agree with you on WWE related matters... but no. So you're saying they should fire Shawn Michaels and Triple H, 2 of their best workers.... Ric Flair, who is still better than most of the newer guys.... Mick Foley, who can be great in one shot comebacks... Kane, who is a fairly good big man... Undertaker, who has a great gimmick and can still put on a great match when motivated... Viscera, I'll give you...JBL is one of the most entertaining characters on the roster, and I used to despise him... Hardcore Holly, well, I'll give you him, too... Scotty 2 Hotty, I couldn't care less... Road Warrior Animal probably won't be back anyway...And I think that covers them all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was mocking Only The Strong Survive because he said:

Here is what I picked up today. Best Buy: Office Space: Special Edition With Flair! (Best Buy exclusive gift set) Jake the Snake Roberts: Pick Your Poison WalMart: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (With WalMart exclusive bonus disc)
-
Can you check to confirm some of this?
-
Someone over at DVDTalk posted saying that they bought it at FYE, and it didn't come with a bonus DVD, so that's that.

This is pretty awesome, and once again, from PWInsider:

The good thing is that since this PPV is on a Tuesday, we'll have plenty of time to download it and watch it before SD or the next RAW. Just in case the other thread is closed or deleted: Here is what I was just about to post as a new topic. From WWE.com: And from PWInisder: This has been one strange week so far.

I predict that instead of ordering this PPV, I'll be downloading it after it goes off.
