January RAW PPV: New Years Revolution
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to JoeDirt's topic in The WWE Folder
It's a good name, at any rate. EDIT: they should have called it "New Year's Evolution" -
Were you planning to contribute anything beneath that thinly disguised attack? What exactly should be contributed to arguments against a scientific theory by people who are 1. unqualified to make scientific judgements and 2. are oblivious to modern advances? Once again, all the bible thumpers can say is DARWIN DARWIN DARWIN as the work of modern evolutionary biologists such as Mayr and Gould flies right over their heads.
-
I seriously think the only thing that has prevented "christian scientists" from attacking quantum mechanics is that almost none of them understand it. On the other hand, they purport to understand evolution (despite being totally oblivious to the fact that evolution has progressed far beyond Darwin) and think that the "you can prove this, so my alternative must be true" approach has some sort of merit. Oh, and I can square a circle. That's not at all difficult.

Plummer and NFL compromise on Tillman issue
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to bob_barron's topic in Sports
How kind and benevolent of them! -
The problem with Egypt helping out is that the leadership is scared to take any action that could be viewed as too pro-American, after what happened to Anwar Sadat. This might be easier to spin though ("helping our arab brothers rebuild their country" or something along those lines).

Man how much would it suck if Miami went undefeated and everyone else but one lost, putting the Hurricanes in the title game? There's something just wrong about Brock Berlin playing for the national championship.
-
Anyone think this could totally backfire when people get pissed that their favorite prime-time program has been pre-empted to show this nonsense?
-
I'm not terribly impressed with USC right now. They remind me of last year's OSU team winning all these close games, and their only saving grace might be that they don't have a Michigan left to play for their final game of the season.

I tend to find that around here, "worst thread ever" contenders make better classic threads than "best thread ever" ones.
-
INXS's cameo appearance at the end, combined with Cerebus' response, have this thread approaching classic levels.
-
OK, I really hate to leave this thread, but I need to get out of the office and go home.
-
Actually I take what I said back. Mike's "C the Bacon" post has to be the worst one so far.
-
This was the best post of the thread. This was the worst one.

If Bush is the Borg, does that make Hilary Capt. Janeway? And are muslim extremists Species 8472?

Mike tip # 425: When painted into a corner, ignore the issue! WHAT ISSUE?! Shh! You're just part of the master plan. Admit it! -=Mike FUCK! How did you figure out that my job here was to help PNAC cover up their Vast Neo-con Conspiracy? I guess I won't be able to work as their Democratic party mole anymore...
-
Mike tip # 425: When painted into a corner, ignore the issue! Yes, you painted me into a corner. That's it. You reclaimed your originality and wit that I thought you forfeited. You are truly, TRULY special. -=Mike ...And, yes, by special, I mean retarded... Lawler: A MikeSC just called C-Bacon special, and I think he means in the Olympic way...

Pitchfork Media lists top 50 worst guitar solos
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Red Baron's topic in Music
Right here is the real reason that this list is a fucking JOKE. "Comfortably Numb" is one of the finest solos of all-time, and is probably David gilmour's most well-know guitar work. It's not my favourite solo of his, but it's an outstanding solo none the less. What redbaron didn't post was their reasons for choosing the list. The Comfortably Numb solo was apparently pieced together from several different takes because Gilmour couldn't get it right, hence its inclusion. For the record it's my favourite PF solo. Pitchfork have no idea with this list. Of course, they don't even have their facts right. Gilmour pieced solos together because he wanted to make something that would be "impossible to perfectly replicate live", not because all his material was flawed. -
Is this the dumbest CE thread we've had in a while or what? It had a nice wrestling tangent going at the start but from page 3 onward it's been a black hole for intellectual thought.
-
The real shame of this thread is that my post associating PNAC members with the nWo was buried under this useless, one-sided flame war.
-
Say WHAT? I don't think the idea of further American imperialism and war tendencies would go over well with the general public. You seem to miss the psychology of the neocons: they do not give a shit what the public thinks about them
-
Well unless "conspiracy theories" are true nowadays? Just give it up already Mike. Pointing at anything you don't agree with that suggests George W. Bush isn't quite Clark Kent by Day and Superman by Night, and screaming, "conspiracy" at it, isn't an ample defense or debunking. No, the psychotic left's obsession with PNAC is only SLIGHTLY more comical than their obsession with Halliburton. Much ado about not much, really. -=Mike Actually I think that's backwards. PNAC actually have some real clout given how many of their members are in high public office positions. Halliburton on the other hand is just a fucking corporation.

*slams head on table* Listen, carefully now, this isn't very hard. Go to the site in question. Read over their mission, some of the articles and whatnot, then get back to me. It clearly isn't your run of the mill conservative group drinking coffee and sharing cookies. http://www.newamericancentury.org/ I read it as soon as you posted...everythings out in the open, these guys are not going to take over everything... You posted it. Weve read it. Mike calls it conspiracy theory and stupid, you argue him. Your arguing is what is wrong here...just stop. Mike wont change his mind, nor will you. There is nothing shadowy here, just the opinion of a bunch of hardcore Republicans. Leave it alone...theyre not planning a coup d' tat of the known universe. What's so pathetic about this whole argument is that even if that's what they are planning, they would be coming right out and telling us as much.

Does anyone have some sort of forum pic with a "missing the point" theme?

Someone finally gets it.
