  1. Teddy managing DOOM was forgettable? DOOM was THE team for a while in 90/91 I meant his stint in 96 when he managed losers like Joey Maggs, Jimmy Powers, Craig Pittman, and Ice Train... Ah yeah that's SO forgettable that I forgot all about it - I guess I proved your point I downloaded World War Three '96 the other day. There's a match on the card between Nick Patrick and Chris Jericho in an "one arm tied behind my back match". And guess who was in Jericho's corner? Yes, Teddy Long. I don't know if it was just for one night or a longer period of time, but at least one of his guys from that forgettable stint eventually became a huge star... Speaking of that show, it's kinda neat that Jericho was the first guy to defeat a member of the nWo and go on to be the first to win a title from a member of the nWo.
  2. Stanley doing a crossword puzzle during every meeting he has to sit through is a great touch. We are WARRIORS!!! *pound pound pound*
  3. Being a Clevelander, I did a legit double take when I saw The Shot clank off the rim. It feels like I've seen that play 1,000 times over the years . . . I mean geez, it was just the 1st Round of the playoffs.
  4. Savage/Roberts better have a cushy spot on that list.
  5. I just figured they're too embarassed to get the cheers exactly right.
  6. what it's going to suck just like your mom does. fyi this is my last comment in this board goodby Edited for wishful thinking.
  7. Yes it was because this ppv is going to suck balls big time bitch That was a nice use of alliteration. Now go to dictionary.com to find out what alliteration is . . . and stay there. Thank you for your anticipated and enthusiastic cooperation.
  8. If Spike TV is willing to absorb most of that contract, it's worth a shot.
  9. Was it worth quoting all that for a crappola 6-word response?
  10. If his team and the fans didn't go absolutely avantageously apeshit after every shot and after the game, this story would be lucky to make the local papers.
  11. If there was an e-mail addy to send requests, I'd have one ready for Royal Rumble 1988 or more 1980s MSG matches.
  12. Ughhhh . . . what a lazy update.
  13. The show would end w/ HHH proving he's the King of Kings by beating Viscera in 5 seconds.
  14. Bob Backlund went from main eventer to low mid-carder back to main eventer in seeing his career come full circle. Shane Douglas worked a couple job matches in 1986 as Troy Martin. He was destroyed by Paul Orndorff.
  15. How could ya not like "Mr. Hole in One" Barry Darsow?!? Making Barry Horowitz try to put his way to victory was gold. Horowitz: I can't put w/ that! I'm left-handed. Darsow: THEN YA SHOULDA BROUGHT YOUR OWN CLUBS!!!
  16. Solie knew ahead of time what was going to happen. Are you sure? I've heard for years that he was inducted and it was a total surprise to him. Did he correct that in his book or something? Solie had been unhappy with the product for some time, and he was very unhappy about John Studd being inducted into the HoF. WCW weren't sure what Solie's reaction would be if they sprung it on him as a surprise so they told him ahead of time. Any particular reason he wasn't happy w/ John Studd's induction? I'm assuming there were other plodding hosses in the HoF at the time (could be wrong on that one).
  17. I definitely agree there. At least wear something w/ a collar tucked in.
  18. Sounds like a CV Diesel/JJ Title Match . . . I think from Brawl in the Family.
  19. I'd really hate to see Jackie Gayda & Friends outdraw Bret Hart's potential farewell speech.
  20. Sure was. Then dastardly Norman blinded Chavo w/ Pepe's dust to beat him at Souled Out 1999.
  21. Yeah, I definitely remember Gertner saying that on TNN. I always thought that's why Dreamer was programmed against Steve Corino in 1999. Gave him a bit of a break from hardcore battles w/o taking time off.
  22. Jannetty will kiss Vince's ass on Monday night and be released two weeks later.
  23. Wouldn't surprise me. Raw Writer: Hey, you still work here? Tatanka: What? I was just hired . . . Raw Writer: Damn, you've been here since like 1989 haven't you? Tatanka: Actually . . . Raw Writer: Hold on, you're still undefeated aren't you? Tatanka: Well . . . Raw Writer: OH BOY, do I have the feud for you (nudges Raw Writer II) Goldberg left on pretty good terms didn't he?
  24. Dreamer would turn on RVD in a bit that will see Dreamer continue on as substitute Heat announcer as if nothing happened. The Money in the Bank storyline is casually discarded as everyone goes back to Sqaure 1 on Raw.
