  1. "Ummmmm . . . . . ok then. Where's the punchline? I guess I don't get it." --- Stephanie McMahon
  2. I think I just swallowed my vomit. Blech... Jake Roberts vs. AKEEM in a Steel Cage? Who thought of this? Hey, it's not often that Bob Bradley, the Brooklyn Brawler, Saba Simba, and the Orient Express all get wins in the same week, let alone on the same card.
  3. Yeah, that was Brad Armstrong as Buzzkill . . . his gimmick pretty much being an openly doped up Road Dogg. Apparently, Road Dogg gave Brad permission to use the gimmick.
  4. Maybe she had time to have plastic surgery. It looked like she was only wearing half the makeup as usual.
  5. IIRC, in the inaugural year of the new Browns, they scored a TD off a fake FG when holder Chris Gardocki ran it in. Kicker Phil Dawson ran in to celebrate when Gardocki lobbed the ball to him so Dawson could kick it to the crowd.
  6. That was him? Never noticed . . . Dinsmore must of put on at least 50 pounds since then.
  7. How often did matches like this happen back then? Double count-outs happen all the time.
  8. The day before my birthday: WWF @ New York City, NY - Madison Square Garden - August 30, 1982 Televised on the MSG Network Tony Garea vs. Charlie Fulton Killer Khan defeated Steve Travis Pat Patterson vs. Bob Orton Jr. WWF Jr. Heavyweight Champion Tiger Mask pinned the Dynamite Kid at around the 7-minute mark with a suplex and moonsault after the challenger failed a diving headbutt WWF IC Champion Pedro Morales vs. Jimmy Snuka Tatsumi Fujinami pinned WWF International Champion Gino Brito with a suplex at 12:39 to win the title Swede Hanson vs. Salvatore Bellomo WWF World Champion Bob Backlund defeated Buddy Rose (w/ the Grand Wizard & Sherri Martel) via submission with the Crossface Chicken Wing at 20:24 Women's Champion the Fabulous Moolah defeated Penny Mitchell Andre the Giant, Chief Jay & Jules Strongbow defeated Blackjack Mulligan, Mr. Fuji, & Mr. Saito WWF Jr. Heavyweight Champion Tiger Mask pinned the Dynamite Kid at around the 7-minute mark with a suplex and moonsault after the challenger failed a diving headbutt Nice WWF World Champion Bob Backlund defeated Buddy Rose (w/ the Grand Wizard & Sherri Martel) via submission with the Crossface Chicken Wing at 20:24 Didn't realize Sensational Sherri was almost manager of the WWF Champion in 1982.
  9. 1.) Favorite world title match at the PPV? HHH vs. Cactus Jack in 2000 2.) Favorite Rumble match? 1992 w/ 2004 close behind. I also mark out for 1989 every time I see it. 3.) Favorite Rumble match elimination? EDIT --- Make it Lawler's elimination in 1997. Ballsy of WWF to insert some comedy in the middle of one of the most heated feud at the time. 4.) Favorite mini-match within the Rumble? Cactus Jack vs. Chainsaw Charlie in 1998 5.) Favorite non-world title, non-Rumble match? Tazz vs. Kurt Angle in 2000 especially how Tazz ended up getting treated as a minor league chump in the coming years. 6.) Favorite pre-Rumble promo? Ted DiBiase's in 1989 where he ended up buying a Twin Tower's #30 7.) Things you hated besides Vince winning the '99 Rumble The 60 second intervals in 1995. Yoko winning in 1993. The complete predictablity of the 1998 Rumble . . . especially after Austin whethered the intial onslaught.
  10. Honestly, Carmella looked 10 times hotter in court than she ever did during the Diva Search.
  11. No, sorry. The segment starts w/ the sound of the bell starting the match and ends w/ Perfect/Poffo running from ringside.
  12. Here's some other fun matches: 06/17/84 Hulk Hogan vs. David Schultz 01/25/88 Hulk Hogan & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Ted DiBiase & Virgil (Had a good ending sequence plus Bam Bam knocking Andre on his ass had me marking out) 10/31/89 Hulk Hogan vs. Lanny Poffo (If for no other reason, to see The Genius get a win over Hogan)
  13. Consistently, I only read JHawk's reviews and Teke's Shoot Interview reviews. However, I'll click through other stuff that look interesting.
  14. So Funaki's main eventing . . . keep an eye out for the ratings there.
  15. Totally agree w/ Bruiser. In a nutshell, if you enjoyed the extras on the Hulk Still Rules dvd set, you'll love the 6-Disc set. If you hated them . . .
  16. And you have your late-90s bands mixed up. It was a Static-X rip off they used. Love Dump
  17. Put that down to Eric. He made the call to take Jericho off TV in the last months of his stay. Quite why they didn't bury him on the way out, I don't know. FWIW, he was jobbed out for the most part from January until April. He would pick up a win here and there against the likes of Saturn and Lizmark Jr but was mostly fodder for guys like Booker T and Scott Steiner. And I believe his last ever loophole was weasling his way back into the US Title Tournament after Steiner eliminated him. There was an injury and Jericho kissed up to President Flair and w/ him was . . . JoJo Dillion himself. Sadly, he lost again to Booker T in the tourney. . . and then lost again in a non-tourney match to Booker T. He also appeared during the Rick Stiener/Sting match at GAB. http://ddtdigest.com/updates/1999062p.htm Did not know that. I've owned GAB99 for about 3 years or so and I have yet to bother to watch it.
  18. El Dandy's theme was used for a Tomb Raider video game commercial.
  19. Here are some more from Cawthon: http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/video.htm - VHS http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/dvd.htm - DVD
  20. ^ Most likely all of those were done by Jim Johnston who I believe is still employed w/ WWE as he has been since 1985 IIRC.
  21. Quite possibly, it's my favorite WCW theme. If not that, it's Jericho's heel theme.
  22. I've got a CV master of it so I could make ya a 1st Gen if you want.
  23. Sounded like the equivalent of a typical WCW World War 3 ppv. Nothing gained but a unique 30min gimmick match.
  24. Not to be a prick, but "The Zoo" was originally done by The Scorpions. The rule of thumb is that if it's not ripped off a song or a cheesy wrestler-specific song itself, it's probably stock. As for the ripoff themes, I actually felt they had a certain charm to them. And to add on: Mamalukes - Godfather Movie Theme MIA - War, What is it Good For? Mike Awesome - Alt version of Beautiful People Saturn's late 1998-early 1999 theme - You Got Another Thing Coming TAFKATAFKAPI - Purple Rain As for the Ricky Martin ripoff, that was Kid Romeo.
  25. I think it's safe to say this is the worst Chyna has ever looked . . . and yes I do count her appearances in early 1997.
