The One And Only I-Lost-My-Dentures Thread

At least Josh played off of Bradshaw's stiff sense of humor pretty well. -
Every promotion needs an SD Jones to put the other talent over.

You're fucked. Don't worry, getting my post count back to 1,100 is stressing me out so much, I probably won't make it to Monday.

Hey guys, Being a proud Clevelander, I guess you all can thank the Heartland of America for the East Coast's inconvenience. At least, that's according to Yahoo and Fox News Channel. Sure did suck to have our power to come back on at 7:30 AM only to have to go back off at 1:00PM until 7:00PM. We're still on a boil alert for our water.

Let me add Randy Savage vs. Jim Duggan for the Crown at MSG which is on Mega Matches. BIG TIME crowd heat, great cheating, fine bumping, even better drama, and by far my favorite Hacksaw Jim Duggan match (never seen his pre-WWF stuff). -
It'd be great to see Okerlund and Heenan bantering to each other about nothing in particular. Only if to see Okerlund make a few valid points, throw it to Heenan, and have him reply with one of his patented, "Talkin to me?" They really should just dump Confidential and rename it From the Vault, and just show classic matches/interviews/highlights and maybe get a word with some of the guys involved in the 1970s-1990s era (Bob Orton, Snuka, ect.).

Do the Beverly Brothers count from Shaker Heights, OH? If they count, so does Dastardly Danny Doring from Pepper Pike, Ohio (which is 5 minutes from my house). I'm 99.9% sure that was a gimmicked hometown. Perennial Wrestling Challenge jobber Ron Cumberledge was also from Cleveland. Plus, The Bashams from Columbus (Why wouldya gimmick that hometown?) SHAME: Jackie Gayda from Cuyahoga Falls, OH (Just pose for the pics sweetheart) Shaniqua from Cincinnatti, OH (No worse now than plain ol Linda Miles)

I'd say at least $30. Probably more depending on your feedback.

Double Trouble Royal Rumble?

While there could be a Raw ring and a Smackdown ring, you'd have to make it legal to go back and forth among rings. -
I've a;ways wished they'd make a DVD for each the past 25 years in 2005. Maybe release 2 or 3 at a time in limited circulation to gauge how much demand there really would be for each year. Include the greatest matches, angles, and current interviews regarding the times back then. Release more for years like 1985, 1987, 1992 (Lots of Flair stuff to draw people in), 1997, 1998, and I'm sure the more current it'd get, the more that would get put on the shelves.

Awesome match indeed! I don't know how forgotten it is though, but good stuff. A real forgotten classic involving Bret Hart has got to be The Hart Foundation vs. Strike Force from 11/87 at MSG. The Harts pull out all the stops to try to get the belts back and fall just short. Great F'N match! To my knowledge, it's not available on any CV or comm release, but it should've been. Completely blew the title switch match away. Maybe this weekend I'll do a summary of the match.

I was/am a mark for Tito Santana's singles run from 1989-1991. Also enjoyed the Hardiez/Conquistadors No Mercy match. Plus, I remember actually finding Lawler amusing as well. And before I knew they had a billion matches against each other that were exactly the same, I actually LIKED the Steele/Savage match from WM2. To this day, I find it a hoot to watch, but I can't stand their other matches. -
Most stupid thing a mark has said to you

I work with this dumbass lady who isn't even aware that RAW exists although she watches SmackDown all the time (No, NOT for the matches of course). Anywhoo, I would HATE it when she'd come running to me on Friday morning. Her: Hey! Did you see Smackdown? Me: Ummm . . . a little bit. Her: That guy . . . oh what's his name was on? Ummm, Billy the Kid. Me: Who? Her: Ya know that guy, he is a team with that kid with the cute mask on. Me: Rey Mysterio? Her: I think so. Hey! Did they fire The Edge? Me: You mean Edge? Her: Whatever. Me: No . . . uhhh I gotta go. Of course, this was just a small dramatization, but normally this goes on for 5 brutal minites a week. I know what you're thinking, big deal it's only 5 minutes? Well, it's 5 minutes too long. -
I'd take a pass on that one. I have the $79.95 WM Collection (I-XIII) and have the other ones on commercial VHSs. That's enough for me.

That's a S.C.T.N.M.T.B.A.S.C if I've ever read one (Shoot comment that's not meant to be a shoot comment . . . Duh) -
Mick Foley's whole damn TitanTron is him getting his ass whooped.

As I toldya before, a fine review as usual. Lookin' forward to future reviews. Here are a few more suggestions: - Best of the WWF Volume 11 - Rowdy Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits (I know it's been reviewed before but I'd like to see your take on it) - Amazing Managers

Like him or not, people cared about Goldberg. They tuned in and paid to see HIM. It doesn't matter if you've paid your dues for a year, 5 years, 10 years, or not at all. If people make it clear that they want to see one perform by tuning in, buying his merchandise, ppvs, ect, he should be pushed, simple as that.
-
If they'd just tone his push down a bit and scrap this "Legend Killer' crap, I'd have no problem with him. Plus, his push gives everyone the feeling that the future of the business/Main Event scene MUST be aligned with HHH. Everyone else are perennial midcarders. Like you didn't know that already.

The war with Muraco was actually a very good feud. It was only partially based on the martial arts, but their matches featured on Best of WWF Volume 5 and Ricky The Dragon Steamboat's CV had awesome heat and were great matches. Blood, guts, and hatred are what really fueled. Admittedly, the skits were pretty hokey but the matches were anything but. Also, check out Best of WWF Volume 8, Jake the Snake Roberts' CV, SNME 5/86, or The Big Event and say his feud with Roberts 'fucked' him over.
-
I've always wondered the same thing. What bothered me though is that the announcers weren't allowed to recognize him as Ricky Steamboat. It was just 'The Dragon.'
