Leena cares a bit too much about this concept. Now I'll wait for someone to post about everyone's jealousy.

Child Arrested After Opening Holiday Gift Early
snuffbox replied to Rob Anybody's topic in Current Events
Ok, that was kinda funny. -
Is John C. Biblethumper any relation to Joe P. Goodolboy? Do you know Mitt strongly opposes abortion & is fast filling the conservative side of the Republican choices, an area that Newt/Tancredo/Brownback/etc will dance on the fringe of success and nothing more? Behind Mitt, as I said are Govs Huckabee & Thompson but they are, thus far, well behind romney in the popularity contest. We haven't elected a Senator in what will have been 48 years by 2008...but when we do, I'm sure it will be a gullible, uncharismatic guy that voted for the Iraq War.

Things I Hold Alfdogg Personally Responsible For
snuffbox replied to Sandman9000's topic in No Holds Barred
And alfdogg will be responsible for snuffbox's future banning. -
Not just covered them, but two of the best covers I have ever heard.

I was also warned, though it was not rescinded. Will we ever learn to respect the dignity of this messageboard?

So, Beach Boys are not 'surf rock' and Pearl Jam are?

Warren Haynes is inarguably America's greatest musician of our generation, a man so cool that thru his veins flows not blood but Cutty Sark. A driving force guitarist & voice for the modern Dead and Allman Bros; on Thursday night, at the Barrymore in Madison, fronting his own powerful team of Southern blues rock masters Govt Mule. Donovan Frankenreiter opened the show predictably entertainingly well. His music is often described as 'surf rock' because he enjoys the wave. Of course, as with most mindless labels stamped by the Rolling Stone magazines of the world, this one doesnt fit and Donovan sounds absolutely nothing like the Beach Boys or Jan & Dean. Govt Mule took the stage about 9 and opened 'Blind Man in the Dark', their memorable track (from their huge performance) on the Bonnaroo 2004 dvd. The first set continued with jams for the ages, a scorched earth take on 'Dark Star, and then WOW! a neckwrenching rockage of Humble Pie's old classic '30 Days in the Hole' before taking their 20 minute break. Set two saw a humble Warren pay emotional tribute to Otis Redding, whose plane plunged deep into Lake Monona in 1967 and whose soul plunged even deeper into the subconcious of all future music, with a cover of 'Ive Got Dreams to Remember'. I remember hoping that Mark David, the Wisco bluesman that carries the torches that fell into that Madison lake and crashed into that Alpine Valley hillside, had made it out to the show. Warren's politics, a general disgust with the pathetic urchins that somehow find elective success, also permeated the show and reached a crescendo with a cover of Buffalo Springfield's still vital 'For What Its Worth' backed by audience choir. Matt Abts smashed his way thru an incredible 20 minute solo that would have stricken lesser drummers with heart attacks. The show boiled to a conclusion with Mule standards 'Thorazine Shuffle' and 'Soulshine'. Mesmerizing pure rock and roll music. I've got dreams Dreams, bad dreams Dreams, rough dreams To remember Don't make me suffer Dreams, bad dreams Dreams, rough dreams To remember -Otis Redding

Go. They are playing great right now. I just saw them in Philly and it was the best I've heard them sound (not my favorite show of theirs I've been to, but overall sound and playing it was the best). They tore through Cortez the Killer for about 20 minutes in the encore. They are playing a lot of the new album at shows (which is appropriate I guess) so you might want to give it a few spins before going. I went. It was awesome. I'll post a full review in the near future.

I heard Warren Harding supported the Iraq War.

The spman material will never get old. What a goon.

These pals "enjoyed" St Anger and that 'I Dissappear' song...and gave a pass on the suing the fans deal...sadly, even brutal beatings cant help such people.

Yes. Hopefully before those liberal whackjobs try raising those devil wage worker's minimums.

I didn't say that was 'the only' thing holding him back. He is the real frontrunner by the process of elimination probably removing Rudy/Mccain from the primaries. I only included that slogan as a tidbit on Huckabee, does that mean it is "the only" thing he has going for him? Again, you need to look beyond the surface and which candidates are most popular, or which ones give you an erection like Vanilla Bayh. I only gave the shortest & simplest of synopsis...you immediately looked into like it was some kind of serious dissertation. Try again. Or better yet, dont.

Currently reading Kerouac's Visions of Cody and having a good time of it.

I don't get how a few of my friends can be so into Metallica that they can convince themselves that they have been cool/good for the last 10 years.

Because we all understand that Show is leaving because he physically can't handle wrestling anymore. Nobody's made a joke here yet?

I always thought it was 'Higgins'. I guess I was wrong about one thing with him. And, no, I still haven't spent all of my 96% tax cut yet. Up next- Another trip to Colombia.

So you'd rather the violent lyrics be nice and clear like in 'Jack Straw'?
-
Why do you have to lie because you don't like my conclusion about something completely unrelated? Can anyone find a quote of this?

Right now, my prognosis for top candidates are: Republican: Mitt Romney (needs to avoid his father's 'brainwashing' moment) Democrat: Barack Obama (if he runs, of course) Top underdogs are Mike Huckabee (easiest slogan in American politics) & Tommy Thompson (another successful, charismatic executive) on the Right; Bill Richardson (successful executive, very charismatic) & Wesley Clark (military cred will be BIG) If Gore does run it will be a big shakeup. Giuliani, crazy as it sounds, has a better chance of escaping the primaries than McCain. Hilary won't get it unless she pulls a miracle out on the primary trail re: her Iraq vote. Vilsack, Hunter, Brownback, Newt, etc are going nowhere. Bayh remains too bland. Feingold should change his mind ala Bobby K in '68.

And who will Joe P. be voting for? Sen. Baseball Apple Pie?

Time to pack it in, Senator.
