  1. Jim Doyle will face reelection in '06...rumors of a possible return of Tommy Thompson to Wisconsin state politics might have Doyle packing his bags early. Jim Doyle (while far from the worst polititian Ive ever known) will not be considered for the presidency in '08, or any other year.
  2. No. Losing candidates seldom are successful later. And, Gore would be laughed at if he tried to run, after his moveon speeches. -=Mike Kinda like how Nixon was laughed at after his 'Kickaround Speech' in '62?...
  3. Anyone considering Gore or Kerry as Dem possibilities?

    Modest Mouse

Well, I just got back home from NYC...and this was one of the best shows Ive ever seen. Modest Mouse played for an hour and a half to two hours (The Buf Medways opened...I liked), nearly ever song off Good News/Bad News and several older tracks. Everything was played incredibly well and Radio City has probably the best sound quality of any venue Ive been to. Very awesome. And tomorrow I see Manson in Milwaukee
  5. I couldnt disagree with you more about Bush/Kerry...their third debate may have been the best Ive seen(and that includes nearly every presidential debate since 1960, CSPAN is awesome for old political reruns). But, out of curiosity, why do you find Bush and Kerry to be poor debaters?
  6. I think (aside from Bush in the first one) they both showed themselves to be very good debaters. Bill Clinton may have been the only better debater on a presidential level than either of these two in recent memory, imo.
  7. Damn...that guy acted like a dottering old plastic dinosaur throughout the '96 campaign... Then after losing he makes hilarious visits to Letterman, SNL, etc... I think that showed a lot of polititians how important it could be to somewhat embrace the pop culture side of America during campaigns.
  8. Super Nintendo got three fingers in my BUTT without lube...real bad times.
  9. Chris Benoit, Tully Blanchard, Nick Bockwinkle, and Kurt Angle all looked petty good/believable as champs. Otto Wanz, Old Hulk Hogan, Jim Duggan, and graybeard Kevin Nash all looked completely ridiculous. Of course, Duggan and Tully dont count if this is only about 'world champs'.
  10. David Bowie - The Laughing Gnome
  11. So...who thinks Wisconsin moves up the rankings after today?
  12. They gotta feel good about something...
  13. I dont think Ive ever really gone to a 'bad' show by my own decision. Ive seen a few shitty ones that I was dragged to...3 Days Grace, 12 Stones, few others. The worst I went to by choice would probably be a Stereomud show back in the day...damn, what a boring band. But the openers (Endo, Finger 11 and Flybanger) were pretty fun and it was only one dollar, so I cant even complain. Ive seen a few ungodly terrible opening bands too on shows I wanted to see...Bender, Saving Face, Filter, etc.
  14. I cant believe any team would actually even want Sammy Sosa.
  15. Neil Young - The Loner
  16. And shit his pants. That'd get my 40$.
  17. If USC beats Oregon State convincingly, then there's no reason you should question them keeping the #1 spot. Oklahoma IS allowing A&M to score 35+ points. Neither victory (if the top teams do end up winning) will be anything 'convincing'...

    Modest Mouse

Damn...no one here besides acnx have seen Modest Mouse?
  19. I thought most of those guys left the WWF for WCW.... Maybe it was a bunch of mid/undercard guys that were fired.
  20. Nobody here thinkin about a NYE show? I think I might end up in nyc...Wilco and Flaming Lips is a pretty neat bill.
  21. Snitsky the next Sid...very believable. Now they really do need to make that Survivor Series match into wargames so he can try to break Maven's neck.
  22. Bob Dylan should be mandatory listening at all high schools and universities.
  23. Jeff Buckley - The Sky is a Landfill
  24. Wisconsin crushes Minnesota...remain undefeated.
  25. Golden Earring.
