  1. It also becomes a point of contention with whitey when other white people have gotten over the cultural superiority complex and don't define "in better hands" the same way.
  2. Most of 'em are either people that would be terrible to actually live with, or already locked up in leases or whatever.
  3. And I thought a week was excessive to allow the silliness to die down. I'm surprised I haven't seen smoke start billowing from HD on the board index.
  4. This is the term conservatives use to deride white people that recognize the good and the bad that Europeans taking over the world brought with it. Understandably, many feel a degree of guilt given that their race tried to subjugate the entire planet. The rest just don't get it, so they call the former group "self-hating whites."
  5. Paul McCartney can't go to Japan either.
  6. Well, it was originally a gag for HD, but I asked to be upgraded since I always noticed the little stuff moderators didn't do too often (like name changes) and it came at the height of Big Government TSM so it seemed like a good idea to let a guy get the blue title who went all over the board to do this. Also, the step up from folder mod to global mod isn't all that large. You can do virtually everything you need or would want to do as a folder mod. Ill also came to the conclusion that I was qualified (by messageboard standards) and level-headed enough and had earned the right to at least get a swing. After all, this came after nikjohns was reviled so less rigid people were welcomed.
  7. Devin (dude I work with) and I would eat you alive.
  8. It was mildly frustrating, but still far from a horrible, thankless job. EDIT: I keep hearing that I was terrible, so is anyone going to ever actually say why I was terrible?
  9. Don't know if anyone else saw this over at TheForce.net: Well okay then. They finally went full-on CGI. And 100 episodes for the live-action series? Yikes!
  10. Yeah, when I did it. And it was good.

    Problem.

That was almost two years ago, guys. Crazy, huh. All the teams except mine blew.
  12. We've still got a lot of time left for them to commit a fuckup of such proportions that a punishment would be foregone. Let's say the Abramoff thing expands even more, and the midterms put people with some cock and balls into Congress that'll be very change-minded and full'a common sense righteousness. That's just one nightmare scenario for them based off of existing lunacy going on. I think the problem is that there's so goddamn much you can point to and say "these jokers shouldn't be in charge of the most powerful country in the world" about, nothing can really gain ground. People, as has been shown with this fucked up "post-9/11 mindset" idea taking over, are much easier to galvanize with one event than with a bunch of small ones. It becomes a simple pest then, not really worth doing anything about. The bright side is that each of the small fuckups they've committed so far do nothing but expand in scope and severity, so something's gotta make them finally stand up and be accountable and honest. If we were to list miscues of this administration to see how many we could rattle off, it would probably surprise all of us.
  13. Or Brendan Fraser, something. I'm going to try and follow this, since it's a World Cup I can get into more.
  14. Even if Orton was good in the ring, it still doesn't explain the other parts of the long-term main eventer equation, like good promos, half-decent booking, and, um, oh yeah, heat.
  15. No, but it is a competition. Quite physically demanding too.

    Problem.

The Leena thing. I had one of those sitcom "oh, I didn't realize we were all being such jerks" moments and felt I should apologize.
  17. Yes, it's news since we're starting to get some real meat on how completely (and criminally, in the name-of-all-things-good sense) negligent the West Texas Rednecks were. Yes, since that nickname came to me, I'll keep using it.
  18. The President tried to tie the two together so much in the leadup to the invasion, I guess the ones who bought it signed up for the military. It'd be a great motivator if it had more than a "they both hate us" connection.
  19. I figure that if they are up to something and have apparently wanted to for a while now (since this is a project they've pursued for a long time), they'll be done sooner than later.
  20. As someone being prepped to be a main eventer, he needs to show that he's capable of having a good match with anyone. A brutal hardcore match with Cactus Jack and 30 minutes with Benoit will tend to make someone look really good, but there hasn't been much promise shown otherwise.
  21. I saw this quoted, so yeah. WildPegasus, here in America (and the rest of the real world), tenants don't charge landlords. In fact, it's done the other way around. Imagine!

  23. 34% is a bit low, it's more like 38 or 39%. Not like that's a massive difference, but still.
  24. The sport itself isn't a joke, but people are increasingly viewing the professionals as overpaid jokes. That's the general sentiment I get from people, but I also live in the heart of hard-tackling/tire-screeching country, not that there's anything wrong with that.
  25. Yeah, VX's story requires elaboration.
