  1. By "that shit's over," I meant what will hopefully be the end of Austin and McMahon appearances on TV. I buy into WWE's stuff more than others. HHH didn't seem fresh to me, just someone coming back. Watching him felt different from watching him, say, a year ago. It's probably the pudgy exterior that's warping my perception though. I have a hard time seeing the guy doing the same stuff he did before he left. Something's just different to me, it's hard to explain.
  2. You so lost me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've adopted the political motivation explanation after the second indictment came down. If you're trying to bring down the GOP, go for multiple targets instead of concentrating on one who's already someone under a controversial indictment that a lot of people aren't buying. Trying to nail the guy over and over again on nebulous charges doesn't help anyone but the accused and their party.
  3. Tony also looked like a joke when he appeared in TNA back then too.
  4. So you wouldn't watch a product just because it is on a particular network? That's rediculous. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On my planet, people beat other people because they're colored differently. Us humans are pretty dumb motherfuckers, and have dumb reasons for doing or not doing things. My dumb reason for not watching the WWF after they jumped to TNN would be that I couldn't stand that channel. As TNN changed over to Spike, it was even less appealing. Internet folk forget how dumb and irrational the people who will pour money into a product are.
  5. When did you start taking people here seriously?
  6. Okay, that's cool. Just curious.
  7. I can personally say that if I were a casual fan at the time, I wouldn't have followed the then-WWF over to TNN. Fuckin' hick network already, and now it's going to have wrestling on it too? A lot of people are quick to forget what a crap network TNN was (and still kinda is). It really serves no point. The product has gone downhill big time, but seriously, fuck TNN/Spike/whatever.
  8. Is there a normal PWInsider Hotline? I don't feel good enough for the ELITE version. ... unless that's what they call the normal one. In that case, I laugh.
  9. That gets filed every week under "shows that the culture is watching in droves but I always forget to watch myself." I'd probably like it. Not enough to watch every week or anything, but enough for me to understand its popularity. EDIT: What am I thinking. The popularity is obvious. America is rediscovering the 30-40 year old woman after watching girls go wild for what feels like forever.

    NFL Week 5

Great, we just have to beat the perpetual away team that might not have even seen any game film in the first couple of weeks to get our first win. I'm still optimistic., believe it or not. 9-3 from here on is all we need!
  11. You're worse than he is lately and you're ignoring his posts anyway. Give it a rest so the rest of us don't have to deal with it. How am I worse? I'm not coming in threads to complain about ESPN's treatment of USC or about how USC is going to lose this year or anything like that. Nice try though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. Shut up. You lose. Stop baiting, the lot of you. 85% of my posts here, as well as most other folk in these threads, are about Tennessee (or whoever their favorite team is). I hate Florida with a passion and talk shit about them constantly because I DON'T LIKE THEM. They're very talented, and a great team, but fuck 'em. Do you see Florida fans getting on me every time I post? Nope. "Oh, but you don't go on and on and on like he does with the..." and I'm not listening any more because all I see are flapping gums on people who can't let shit drop. The rest of us are trying to have some degree of discussion about this most magnificent of all forms of football and it's starting to impinge. Dama, stop reacting, assholes, stop baiting. It's the 2005 season now. Act like it.
  12. I watched a couple of seconds of some show on ABC the other night. Shit sucked.
  13. There's no way this guy gets convicted of anything now. Strike while the iron's hot and all, but there's gotta be another asshole somewhere doing something wrong. Go get THAT person now. It's like the left is obsessed with shooting itself in the foot. You're virtually giving a sheet of talking points to every fuckhead in the media to rally the people against you.
  14. I blame Laura Bush. She wanted a woman, and I doubt George is getting any from any of those politicians. Who do you listen to?
  15. Newt Gingrich would be a perfect start for this new era of opportunities and choices!
  16. Because we have so many cases every time we go to the polls where we have real alternatives. I just see guys in suits.
  17. Man, fuck the French. Where do they get off telling people on remote colonies to use dogs as shark bait. Wisen up.
  18. Fuck yeah it probably was. Ever sink your teeth into a double cheeseburger at 3am after questing across town for it because it's the nearest 24 hour drive-thru with what YOU want? Fuck those morons who are out running at that hour or whatever, they've probably had times like that too. We all endanger each other and we all look out for each other.
  19. MAN! IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE NOSTALGIA!!! You just need to see it like that! It's not about wrestling, it's about old school and what it used to be like on USA! We almost saw Candice's bare ass!!! That's a great show in my book! Austin stunnering people like the old days was awesome! How can a real fan not like that? Did you see the size of Stephanie's boobs? WHOA! Triple H is such an awesome mean person, I hope Flair gets back at Triple H. Greatest three hours ever! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, it wasn't about nostalgia. Overreactions on all sides, except for Mike. I can't speak for the other sports/entertainment alternatives since I didn't see them, but I felt last night's show was a perfectly planned introduction to the new fans that would undoubtedly be tuning in after the PR blitz and promotion on USA for the move. The whole night felt like a PPV, and it was so nice and fresh-feeling. What lacked was execution. The Austin segment was genius but too drawn out. I can't think of a better way to start this new era (and that's not just WWE-speak; last night was full of closures on old things) than having Austin leave the entire McMahon family in a heap in the ring and ride off into the sunset. All that shit's over. I take all of this back the moment that any of these people reappear (minus Vince, who has to show up for big news and stuff) though. If left as it was, last night was an acceptable final load of dirt thrown on the Attitude grave. The women's segment, as much as I love women's wrestling, was painful. Still, promise these new fans T&A and you've gotta deliver somehow I guess. Just find a way to cut it down. Hey, what's that other show they've got? Smackdown? Pff. Fuck if you can be bothered to care, they sure don't. I didn't have an issue with Bischoff halting their match to be a dick, only because I thought that there'd be SOMETHING with Smackdown guys wrestling later on. No way they'd just totally ignore these guys we're supposed to buy as equal, right? Did they even get to say at any point exactly when or where to find Smackdown besides "Friday Night?" HHH/Flair is a tag team I wanted to see for some reason. I kinda missed HHH's grunts and other noises he makes during any beatdown. Maybe that's why the shows have felt so new. It was still nice to see the HHH factor kinda downplayed, at least as I saw it. It helped that dude's HUGE now, and I didn't see him as "HHH, always-present guy on top," I saw him as "HHH, returning big name." I dunno, the hotter Stephanie gets, the more HHH lets himself go. The whole show was predictable, to a T. Still, it was in the good way, serving as an introduction to USA viewers, and a peppering of every element that WWE would like to convey, as often as they fail in doing so. Couple'a segments with old guys being disrespected by young dudes who are ready to take over, a match meant to emphasize in-ring product, a wild brawl of some sort, T&A, advertised performers getting real face time (shame there was no Carlito promo at any point), a carefully manicured presentation meant to efficiently draw in viewers. The execution was lacking at times, but that can be fixed with simple practice and the inevitable opening back up of the movesets. It's important their minds are on that "draw" word and continue with it. Long-term is the key, and Raw ain't gonna be fixed in one night. It's a good start and I hope they can continue it. I'm ready to really enjoy wrestling again, and that some degree of thought is going into things is a promising sign.
  20. Man, and the one in Orlando told me IT was the biggest McDonald's. Flashy-ass shirts trying to throw me off with their alternate "Mickey D's" printing.
  21. You current events leech. Fuck, man.
  22. Notre Dame goes DOWN? WV loses and goes up? Screwy, man.
  23. I am, but I think it's gonna be a hell of a game. We match up way better than Florida did. It'll pretty much be the SEC championship game if Georgia drowns in the sea of orange next week. I can honestly see Alabama potentially becoming this year's Auburn. I've been high on them since Mike Shula showed up, and I saw when Croyle was healthy that they played damn fine football. Look at that one game where they went stride-for-stride with Oklahoma, in 2003 I think. It was a huge game of the week caliber game, and they showed up to play, although they lost to an OU team that was eventually in the BCS title game so you can't put a lot of shame on them. But all I could say while watching that Florida/Alabama game was "DAMN I loves me some SEC football!" Did you see how hard those guys were hitting out there? Yikes! They'll play way more physical than LSU and have a scare with Auburn, but the key is Tennessee on that fabled Third Saturday in October. It's a game that'll have national implications if, say, USC or Texas or even VT lose down the line. I still think OU can beat Texas, and Cal or ND can beat USC (although the latter is more likely to happen). VT's just stuck in the ACC, where there are so many solid teams that can pull a shocker at any time, and some big ol' heavyweights too.
  24. USC's not that complacent about things. They just know what has to be done and what not to do. That's why they've won 25 straight. Maybe they just happened to get a couple of tests in the last couple of weeks. #1 teams are allowed to have these scares. What makes them #1 is that they're just scares, not losses.
