Okay, and? That wasn't too far-fetched. After all, the guy didn't exactly get rocked in a landslide. -
Him, Lombardi, and Landry are my templates for how football coaches should dress.

It's taken care of, folks. Resume thread.

And I've been here long enough to notice to predict who'll be on here and when. Maybe the two bits are related. Anyone else notice the rhythms of the board?

I'll agree with that, I was laughing at the 1985 repeat thing. Favre had better win what'll probably be his last games against the Bears.

Jeff Hardy: Undisputed Championship Threat was the highlight of Summer 2002 for me.

Someone please tell me that terrorist group is some weird hallucination I'm having.

Yes yes, I know. I actually have the money, I'm simply far too lazy to start a PayPal account or whatever.

Yes, I understand that, but the indignation shown is as if it would have mattered. That's what my argument is. I think we're trying to argue two different things against each other thanks to Zogby's brainfart. A fun little Iraq-related poll factoid: South Carolina is the state that favors a reinstatement of the draft most, with nearly a third of the state supporting it according to results shown on local broadcasts tonight. -

But it's ignoring that it really doesn't matter, because there isn't going to be some groundswell of support all of a sudden. It simply won't affect things enough to bitch about when it was conducted. -
He's been doing Independence Day Will Smith though, so it's cool. EDIT: http://dreadlocks.ytmnd.com/ I mean, come on, that's awesome.

Boy, those guys in the back sure are happy considering they can't see shit from over there.

Argue semantics all day if you'd like, but polls conducted since the speech will show a minimal improvement at best, and no change at all at worst. That's the fortunate part, just enough "new" (read: things the administration has been reluctant to admit) things were said to improve their image of blissfully ignoring what's happening over there. The quicker those in charge get real with the American people, the faster their image will improve. Don't just use platitudes of truth and all that, actually practice them. -

Because the address didn't do anything to quiet the critics at all. It was, like I said, mediocre. Had he delivered a rousing call to arms for America to stick this conflict out until its conclusion instead of referencing 9/11 five times (only the most deluded citizens at this point associate the war in Iraq with 9/11) and saying "it's hard work" over and over and over and over and over and over again. We know it's hard work, it's fucking armed conflict and we've suffered nearly 1,800 deaths. I think we know by now that it's hard work and is going to take a while. The speech was nothing more than a public declaration by the administration of all the things we've surmised from watching the news every night. Nothing new was said, nothing was presented to inspire us or get us on his side, and not even the crowd was compelled to applaud during the speech more than once, not a good indication considering that that crowd and setting were probably chosen for the most supportive effect. Not that I relish in all of this. I really wanted to hear him pull off a great address that would at least give the most ardent critics reason to think twice with the 4th of July around the corner, but I doubt most of the citizenry remembers any of it. -
Okay, fuck that version. Here's the real one: http://s48.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1373P0W...NB39BPYVEW8UHAB

I think that 2002 provided us with the most unintentionally funny soundbites of any year is a nice way to prove it was the weirdest year ever for the WWF and then WWE. "I'm going... bye..."

Sucka, I'mma roll you this year. Roll you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll never get tired of hurting you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I sure hope you savored last year.

What bugged me about G-Force was that every single friggin' villain was a lieutenant.

Ignoring it won't make it go away. -
Dammit, I changed the channel while they were posing.

What do you really think about the 4th of July?
Art Sandusky replied to Art Sandusky's topic in General Chat
If you put together all of the federal holidays, we don't get mail like, 20 days out of the year. I was gonna type a bunch of swelling patriotic stuff, but I decided to keep it to myself. -
That and the British were no longer necessary for protection against the French.

The reason for Hogan being there is so we can hear "Real American" on the 4th of July, duh. I wish people would stop calling that Edge/Eddie match a street fight. It was just no DQ.
