  1. I always think about this whenever we have a patriotic holiday of some kind. Most people are happy to have a day off or whatever, but I always wonder what people really feel about these days that have been set aside to celebrate anniversaries of events or memorialize someone. I'll post my own thoughts later after I watch the fireworks in Washington on PBS.
  2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it's putting too much faith in a mediocre speech to give him a public boost.
  3. Well no shit, Boston was pumping out a couple million gallons of rum a year for the British using molasses from the West Indies, and closing the harbor understandably pissed them off. Whoever said that it was "all about tea" is a retard. By the way, that link requires you to have a membership to the site to see the story.
  4. http://www.projectmerlin.com/ "The code was custom designed by a team of SDI/StarWars physicists to capture moments of what Guercio and Hart like to call "heightened-eventfulness." These uncommon moments of future activity, where important events will likely occur, are generated by mathematically capturing a particularly propitious past moment, like the beginning of a relationship or the start of a new job and applying a precise formula of cyclic intervals to that past 'frozen' moment. The result is a graphical image of all the future moments, when echoes of the original moment will again be heard. MERLIN TimetraksĀ® are a lot like pages of sheet music from a very unique and one-of-a-kind symphony that can predict the timetable of future events. The TimetraksĀ® for Friday night's Coast program, and instructions for reading them can be viewed/downloaded at the project's TimetrakĀ® Library." Okay, so there's a great degree of math involved in figuring out the cycles, but time is still a lot more than hours and days and years and all that.
  5. Tiny Toons: How I Spent My Summer Vacation. That video was the shit.
  6. I just can't get excited about insulting anyone anymore, either on here or in my daily life.
  7. Eh, they're realists.
  8. Eh, they're realists.
  9. I don't dislike anyone here. I mean, what would the point of that be. But still, we get it. You're straightedge. That's cool and all, but we get it.
  10. Yup, 'cept it was called "Thug Superstar."
  11. Opie Goes To Seattle?
  12. Poor thing. If I were the owner, I'd probably think it was adorable.
  13. Nah, you're doing just fine with the needless grandstanding.
  14. Not time. Other stuff sure, but not time.
  15. Damn, SS, I wish you came around more often. Drop on by at The Pit sometime. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pff, a Slaughterhouse Five reference is too easy. Oh yeah, the world isn't ending in 2012, it's just going to end as we know it. Time is cyclical, and we need to stop relying on numbers and, as someone on Coast to Coast AM said last night, "stop standing too close to time to see the big picture."
  16. Whatever happened with this?
  17. Austin should get Old Crow Medicine Show's "Tear it Down" for his appearances these days. Chris Masters' new theme should be "Girls" by Death in Vegas. That'd work with his entrance extremely well. The problem with WWE wrestlers is that very few go to the ring faster than a semi-normal speed walk. There's a lot of cool shit that's fast-sounding that just wouldn't work with them.
  18. I know it's not just him, but that he's a huge force is undeniable. He'll let you know it himself too.
  19. The Style Channel too.
  20. Yeah, Jesus being a real person is a pretty safe statement, no matter your beliefs.
  21. Sports are starting to get really silly. Thank goodness for the college game.
  22. I know I'm totally out of it when I don't even recognize the names of the video game films coming out.
  23. Haha. Awesome.
  24. It's fuckin' A/V heroin, man.
