Anyone who posted in this thread is eligible, team captains excluded. The cutoff will be midnight EST, as that's when the poll for the first pick ends also. At that point I'll post the actual draft thread, with all the available posters, and then make the first pick if I win, or leave it to whoever gets first crack at it. The draft itself will last until midnight Thursday night, giving the team captains two days to pick people. As posters are picked, their names will be taken off of the original thread post, or better yet, labeled by whichever team got them. I'm going to have to figure out an efficient way of picking people, as going in a specific order might gum up the works considering the different times people are online.

Two memories, both football-related: 1) Brett Favre completing a TD bomb to Andre Rison on his second offensive play in his first Super Bowl, Super Bowl XXXI. Watching him pull his helmet off and run around the field with that massive smile on his face always makes me misty-eyed, to see that he enjoys the game that much still, as much talk as there's made of cynical pro athletes who only care about being paid. 2) Florida's final chance against Tennesee, down 34-32 with less than a minute in the game, and a 4th down pass falls incomplete, thus giving the 14-point underdog Tennessee a victory and a #2 BCS spot, but most importantly, the Vols beat Spurrier at the fuckin' Swamp in Spurrier's last home game at Florida. I was on a natural high all week after that. Probably the best college game I've ever watched.

I see it like this: If Banky is made a leader, he'll crap it up. If Banky isn't made a leader and says he won't play in our game because we're all tools who take the board too seriously, he'll still show up in every thread and crap it up. It's really a lose-lose situation.

The Cotton Bowl certainly has the historical credibility, and I can't think of a better choice off the top of my head that wouldn't be major overlap. It's also one of the few that still has its own name (it's still the fucking Citrus Bowl, not the CapitalOne Bowl). Adding a fifth BCS bowl is just silly though. It's already bad enough they're trying to create one here in Charleston called the Palmetto Bowl. END THE BOWL CREATIONS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. 27(?) is MORE than enough.

I played KOTOR and thought it was phat-up until I realized how fucking deep it was going to be and that there were turns while fighting. I turned it off and returned it immediately. A better way would be to simply figure out an order (we'll get Dames to do some kind of "what number am I thinking of?" impartial thing and do the running order based off of how close we all got), then start the actual draft thread. The draft thread will have one massive initial post where all of the draftees' names will be posted, and as each is taken, their name is edited out of the post.
