  1. Good/great fiction. Shouldn't be a catalyst for anything.
  2. In those days, flowing offenses scored 120+. Today, it's 90-100. Shooting percentage has sucked for a number of years. 45% from the field is not that good. Also, the game is way too physical. Officiating sucks and when players do get to the line, they miss.
  3. How many Demo verbal fuck ups make front page news?
  4. I read somewhere that 80% of Iraq is doing well, the problem is in the 20% that is pro-Saddam. I'd set up camps somewhere outside the 20%, evacuate the population to said camps, and level the area. Parking. Lot. Then I'd do intensive background checks of the camp members. Build new homes for the innocent ones, imprison the questionable ones, and execute the terrorists stupid enough to enter.
  5. It's proven that he did exist. EDIT: Also the Bible didn't demonize sex. All it talked about was waiting until marriage and a few health issues. I didn't mean the Bible did. I meant the Catholic Church did. Read The Da Vinci Code. It's worth your time. Please, please don't use The Da Vinci Code as an historical source or a guide to Catholic theology.
  6. Thanks a ton, man. Btw, I got an A- on #1.
  7. I don't go there, just using the link.
  8. shit...they do poems? I totally forgot.
  9. Same deal as last time. I have to pick out passages and interpret the language/meaning. I'm doing it on Tennyson's "In Memoriam", Stanzas 54-56. Here's a link: http://eir.library.utoronto.ca/rpo/display...124.html#poem54 So far, I like: #1 Oh, yet we trust that somehow good Will be the final goal of ill, To pangs of nature, sins of will, Defects of doubt, and taints of blood; That nothing walks with aimless feet; That not one life shall be destroy'd, Or cast as rubbish to the void, When God hath made the pile complete; That not a worm is cloven in vain; #2 I falter where I firmly trod, And falling with my weight of cares Upon the great world's altar-stairs That slope thro' darkness up to God, I stretch lame hands of faith, and grope, And gather dust and chaff, and call To what I feel is Lord of all, And faintly trust the larger hope. #3 Man, her last work, who seem'd so fair, Such splendid purpose in his eyes, Who roll'd the psalm to wintry skies, Who built him fanes of fruitless prayer, Who trusted God was love indeed And love Creation's final law -- Tho' Nature, red in tooth and claw With ravine, shriek'd against his creed -- #1, questioning the notion that everything happens for a reason. #2, spiritual//religious doubt; and #3, conflict b/t God and nature; are separate. Any insights from parts or all of these passages, or the link, would be much appreciated. It's due Thursday. Thanks.

  12. Lebron will get ROTY b/c the NBA needs to oil the hype machine, not b/c he's the best.
  13. Straight edgers = LOSERS And I don't even know any.
  14. I thought this thread would be about Dean-o declaring himself a metrosexual. But I guess that wouldn't be good news for anybody.
  15. You should have taken a bat to his knees...
  16. I met Richard Pryor and Robin Wright (no -Penn yet). And I talked to Roberta Flack on the phone.
  17. What's the lesson, kiddies? Stalker = babe magnet

  22. Impressive. Are you a fan, like me? #41 and Crush are really good for meaningful shit. The other two are good if you ignore their messages. I'm not like an uber DMB fan or anything, but yes, I do enjoy their music. And "Say Goodbye" does have a somewhat...depressing...message in a way, but at the same time, it's an awesome song and just the sound of it can set the mood as long as you're not paying attention to the words and really thinking about what those words are saying. "Crash Into Me," to me, is just a very sexual song, but once again, the music and the sound really set the mood more than anything else. Actually, you can really just pop in a DMB CD and play it all the way through, because at some point you stop really paying attention to the words and it becomes more of a sound in the background thing, and something about that music just oozes sex (at least it does to me, I might be weird...). That's exactly what I was going for. Both songs are very sexy, and if you selectively listen to them, they're perfect for the mood. I think Crash the album is great... Crash, #41, Say Goodbye, Let You Down, they're all perfect. Crash really is about a stalker watching a girl. But like stardust said, the overall effect is what's important.
  23. Jack and Tony are heads of two subdivisions of CTU. I don't know about Jenny but Lynne was incapicitated when she fell from the stairs. Maybe they caught who they thought attacked the Pres, not the real group. I still think Nina and Mandy work for Germany who is trying to attack the U.S. underground. Awesome ep! Have you noticed somebody dies in the first ep every year? Cool little trend.
  24. But SC's computer rankings are a joke.
  25. Man, Malone and GP are friggin' studs. That is all.
