From a visual standpoint, that spot is supposed to look similar to when a face whips the heel into the ropes, and jumps up to deliver a dropkick as he rebounds, only to have the heel hold onto the top rope, leaving the face to fall flat. I've seen this done hundreds of times, but I can't think of any specific example to point you towards. I did drop the ball on putting some commentary by Ejiro there, though; it never even occurred to me...
