If it still isn't working after ZA is uninstalling it than that makes me wonder if there is something odd with AIM or part of ZA is still running.

I would shutdown ZA and then maybe try uninstalling it and see if things return to normal. If so then maybe try using Kerio.

If ZA is off and you still can't do it.... Do you have a router? If you have XP is the XP firewall on? BitTorrent will probably need some advanced rules set up.
