I have to admit, Ultimate Iron Man is a really good series..
-
When telling him about the dead hooker sex in Manhunt 2, a buddy of mine was just replying in an email... "...in 30 seconds of the Sopranos game I beat on guy to dead with a dildo, shoved a guys face into a bandsaw (graphically), broke another ones arm and followed on screen prompts to twist the genitals of another. On a porno set. The game also includes lots of language and nudity (though it isn't that great)." I'm thinking more and more that this is just a big gang up on Rockstar, given that they're the most well-known publisher of this genre of game...
-
I don't get the complaints - it looks fine to me. Were you expecting skin-tight metallic spandex or something?
-
More stuff from IGN.com So what happens if Rockstar ships without Sony's or Nintendo's "official license" - does that mean they'd probably be blackballed by the two companies? Somehow I doubt it considering the ridiculous numbers that the GTA series sells.
-
If all of these companies have policies of no AO games on their consoles.. then why even have the rating to begin with? Why not just say, no we're not going to release this - tone it down. Also - it seems kind of oddly hypocritcal for SONY to have this policy seeing as they're the ones who released Eli Roth's Hostel which was a movie that people were attching the "ultra-violent" buzzword onto. Regardless of whether the main character gets to "rape" a CORPSE or any other "ultra-violent" material contained within the game.. I still don't believe that it should be shelved or edited. This is no different than a gory movie except in this you're pressing some buttons that cause sprites to move around the screen. Big fucking deal. People who can't take this kind of shit just need to step aside, and oh.. how about not playing it? EDIT: From Gamespot.com. This guy puts out exactly how I feel - just a little more eloquently.

I was more perplexed by the giant yellow duck, how did that thing came down in the sewers ? I used to have some Batman Returns toys when it came out and I had a set of two penguins with missles....I always thought that they had some sorts of helmets that controlled their brains or something like this. I'd always assumed they were robotic penguins...

Shoddy reputation? I think he means their rep as a kiddy system. Personally.. as I've said before.. I don't like being told what I can and can't see (or play in this case). I don't see why those of us who can tell the difference between right & wrong, reality & fantasy, etc. should be given something watered down because not even a handful of people blame certain events as influenced by this game (even though in the murder case in the UK it turned out that the victim, and not the perp, actually owned a copy of Manhunt (he was also underage) and that the motivation for the crime was actually robbery) or because parents can't properly monitor what their kids are consuming on a regular basis. It's bollocks, I say.

You should give it a go, for sure. I was skeptical with the no zombies thing at first too... but it's a pretty cool twist. These villagers are mindless servants, almost akin to zombies in a way. The game just has more of an Omega Man feel to it than the usual zombie genre film.

Meh. Personally I don't care what rating the game gets. I'm adult. I have a credit card and lots of disposable income. I know how to shop online. It's rare if I ever find myself in an actual game store browsing or buying games. The thing I'm concerned about is getting the game how it was originally meant to be played. I don't want a watered down or tamer experience just for the sake of an M rating. EDIT: I also had this pre-ordered through Amazon, along with RE4 since their releases were so close together. I just went in to check my order and the version of Manhunt 2 that I had ordered "is no longer available" and there is now another listing for the game that has September 1, 2007 as the release date. I'm still keeping it on pre-order just incase, but I've removed RE4 and created a separate order so I can get that sooner. Unreal...

It was somewhat grainy on my HDTV, but still was a beautiful game. I got used to it quickly. I dunno. I just couldn't get used to the horrible aliasing of the "aura" that's constantly around the wolf.
-
It is a great game.. but unfortunately playing it on an HDTV.. it really does look like ass. I mean more than most SDTV games. I'd like to see a Wii port of this come out sometime down the road with 480p support. Otherwise I just can't stomach playing the PS2 version on my tv..
-
The first movie was perfectly acceptable on it's own. This didn't need to be a franchise of sequels.. but obviously the producers saw money in the "gorror" genre and the crappy sequels started flowing in.
-
I've heard some first-hand stories that Eli Roth is a complete dick. Based on this, I've a feeling that his character in Death Proof is more him than actual acting.
-
I beg to differ.
-
Uhm... Heh.. Wow, how the hell did I miss that. Chalk it up to no sleep + booze on my part. Either way I think they'd be smarter to ditch the cell phone garbage and just have them up on the site to begin with.
-
I personally found it to be an utter POS. Or maybe it was just WinXP. Hard to tell. A wireless router costs about the same or less, get one. I'm on XP and the USB Wifi connector works perfectly.
-
He's good, but I wouldn't go as far as to say he's beyond awesome. Batman Returns was the best of the old franchise, IMO. The wretched Prince soundtrack ruins the first in the series for me.
-
Can they just piss off with this crap already? Seriously, who the fuck watches TV on their mobile phone? Not fucking well me, that's for sure. ...and keeping fans engaged? But only fans on Verizon's service? Real smart, guys. Would've made more sense to just have online "webisodes", or whatever the stupid buzzword is, for anyone to view/download.
-
Thought it was alright. Better than the first, IMO.
-
There’s no sense harping on Vince for being tasteless - EVER. It’s pretty much an accepted fact. His mindset is that if any other TV Drama can do it.. then why not his? I’m actually inclined to agree with him in most cases. But I don’t watch anything they put on TV so who am I to talk?
-
Looks like I got mine just in time. Why not just buy the USB wifi connector? I already had one for my DS and it works perfectly with the Wii.
-
Hm. Dunno if it's been mentioned but I just now noticed that the Slammiversary branding is a complete rip off of Walk the Line's (Cash biopic) DVD/poster branding.
-
Sounds interesting! Definitely going to give it a rental!
-
I think it's pretty cool that they've got the original Optimus voice actor (Peter Cullen) doing the role for the movie.
-
IGN's review was saying that there were only certain routes you can take when on the way to missions or in chases. How does that effect the gameplay? I'm really debating picking this up, or at least renting it. I'm not a Scarface fan or anything, but I'm interested in playing something GTA'ish on the Wii. Hoping that the Wii controls can inject some life into this tired and played out genre. =\
