Oklahoma's ready to play they win. Flat out they are the best team in the country by a good margin over Miami, and USC.
-
Any manager would realize that Martinez should of been pulled. That includes Little who was afraid to tell Martinez he was done.
-
Pitching coaches don't always make the best managers. Ray Miller, Larry Rothchild. Both great pitching coaches, but didn't fair well has managers.
-
Who were the best two teams this year? Atlanta and New York (big suprise). That wouldn't of helped the ratings. As for the wildcard being bad for baseball. Back in 1969, there where probably people complaing that two divisions would kill the great tradition of the game.

Florida St. wins out and Miami loses. We might see FSU beat out Miami even though they beat them head to head. Kind of like 2000.

I wouldn't fret the Spurs losing the opener. They're usually slow out of the gates, and really start to play well around January.

Twins already picked up the option on Koskie's deal.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread
Vern Gagne replied to Spicy McHaggis's topic in Television & Film
Ugh, that was the worst...especially when they gave us one episode after being off for three weeks then went off for another month, talk about a tease, geeze. The long breaks are necessary for the shows writers. Sutherland himself, said that during an interview last year. -
The shining scarier than the exorcist?
Vern Gagne replied to PLAGIARISM!'s topic in Television & Film
Comedy has ruined the Exorcist and The Shining. I can't help put think of Garrett Morris beating the piss out of Lorraine Newman after she insults his mother. Than there's the classic Shinning parody the Simpsons did. -
I think they said there where plans for a Scary Movie 4 even before the 49 million opening week. For anyone who saw the movie. Where their funny scenes, and lines not shown on the previews?
-
It's a mixed bad for all the regulars. They can be funny at times, others there schicts get old. Speaking of VH1. Did anyone see the super secret formulas to TV. It was basically a ripoff of "Jump the Shark".
-
I was pissed that the originial Dracula didn't make the list. Watching the movie still gives me the creeps, and it doesn't need alot of blood to scare you.

Goddamn right. I buy corporate ice cream. I like my food with as many chemicals as I can get. Ben & Jerry have chemicals in their ice cream. It's called LSD...
-
Fuck the AP. Minnesota ranked instead of Boise St. Next week should be awesome. USC/Washington St., Florida/Georgia, Miami/VA Tech, Michigan/Michigan St., Oklahoma/Oklahoma St. and Texas/Nebraska.
-
Saunders will have is hands full. He's got KG, and a bunch of injury prone, headaches like Cassel, Sczeribiak, and Olawakandi.
-
The media desevers some of the blame imo. Before the series started it was always we won't be seeing the matchup baseball fans wanted the Cubs and Red Sox. That was true, but they didn't have to harp on the fact the lovable losers weren't playing.
-
WTF? He'd obviously have to the Red Sox's mascot... Zimmer's already been employed by the Red Sox and Yankees. Figured he'd worked his way around the AL East.
-
Fuck Laimbeer. Cheap bastard.
-
Don Zimmer's leaving? too freaking bad. Next year he'll end up has the Orioles mascot, and act all buddy buddy with Angelos.
-
Let's get out of the 1st round first. Injuries are already a problem. Troy Hudson will miss the first 2 weeks, Wally Sczerbiak has a nagging foot injury, and the Kandiman (big shock) has had back problems. I can't wait to see Dallas play teams like Sacramento, and Minnesota. We could see 130 points for each team in regulation.
-
There's questions about how much he wants to stay in Minnesota. The dome being the main reason. Besides, I wouldn't break the bank for the guy. If someone like New York, or Seattle offers 7 million let him go. White Sox won't finish ahead of the Twins. Especially if they hire 3 time reject Buddy Bell has manager. The Twins will have a better staring staff, and the lineup will be similiar to this years.
-
Since about 1999 the major sports have seen alot of suprise, and "I can't believe they actually won" champions. This year alone Tampa Bay, Florida, Ohio St., and Syracuse come to mind.
-
UCLA made a nice hire with Dorrell. He's young, and brings some life into the program. Unlike Indiana who hired a two time reject in DiNardo. How about some love for Boise St. 7-1 this year, with a 2 point loss at Oregon St. and winners in 19 of the last 21 games the last two years.

Torre's legacy is secure. The media and public have such an overwhelming disdain for Steinbrenner, that these Yankee teams will always be known has Joe Torre's Yankees.
-
Yes he did. He sent a game that the Yankees were arguably in the driver's seat for (They were certainly threatening harder than Florida) and flushed it down the shitter. IMHO, This series is tied if nor for him. No, the Yankees hitting squandered it away such as tonight failing to produce runs...THAT is what cost them the god damn series. If Weaver doesn't pull a Weaver special, the Yankees win that game. Mark my words. Sure, it's a prediction, but that was the only time in all four losses that I thought the Yanks had a shot. Sure, the Boone strikeout that let Weaver in the game t begin with helps nothing, but Boone is on the list as well. Why in the hell is Weaver in the fucking game in the first place? He was horrible, all year and suddenly in the World Series. Torre decides to put him in the game in extra innings, where one bad pitch can lose the game. Torre's done some great things has manager, but that was a dumb mistake, that turned the tide of the series.
