I listen to British bands, I'm a pompous elitist, I watch House of Commons on C-SPAN, and I apologise (yeah with an s, not a zed) even when it's the other guy's fault, just to be polite. But oh, I how I love a good row! Followed by tea, of course. How much more British can I act?

I went to a Christian Science church once and it was rather nice. A lot of white, light blue, and such. It appropriately felt quite New England.

A blemish upon greater Chicago is the tollway system. Tollbooths are stupid. They're big, they slow down traffic, they cost money, and most annoyingly, the money that the tollways bring in these days just goes to finance the tollway system, like maintaining the booths and paying the workers. God knows it doesn't go towards better paving. Anyway, for a while now we've had I-PASS, where you just pay for a year subscription and you drive through a lane and get scanned and that's that. But what bothers me about I-PASS is something that of course they've been doing that they can easily do, but the possibility of it never crossed my mind. My friend just told me the other day that her parents got a speeding ticket in the mail because I-PASS said they got to the next tollbooth in less time than going the marked limit would allow. This is going too far in law enforcement in regards to speeding. On Illinois tollways, you're a bigger hazard to traffic if you're going under 65 than you are going over 65. Much bigger. Sometimes you have to go 75 just so as not to disrupt the flow of traffic and get yourself killed. If you're just going the necessary speed and not causing any danger even if it's over 65, it's hardly a crime. This sort of surveillance doesn't belong, it's not making the tollways safer, it's just another cheap way to bring in revenue. Just like not wearing a seatbelt. Our ignorance is not the police's matter if we're not endangering anyone else. Does anyone else have similar systems on their state highways, or have been cited for this?

Yeah, most def. The AL is more top heavy (Two best teams) while the NL has more good teams (Braves, Cards, Giants, Cubs, Astros, Padres, Dodgers, Phillies, Marlins). Yeah I'm waiting for the Cubs-Cardinals-Astros arms race to heat up. Objectively speaking, I think the NL Central is the 2nd hottest division in baseball, maybe even better, who knows. Too bad that of the three matchups, we ended up with the one nobody cares about as the NLCS, but that might be Chicago bias kicking in. Or not?

I assume by "American League," you mean Boston, because the AL East arms race is the only thing that matters in the whole league. The A's are a curiosity, the Comedy Central looks to be back. The NL is the better league, I feel.

That's crazy. The last month, all the highlights on Sportscenter that are from the New Orleans Arena all have the lower deck facing the camera completely empty. You can see the neat pattern of colored seats, the sort of alternate between teal, blue, and white, I think. I remember the Minnesota North Stars having random seat colours too.

I'm glad I'm not at the Silicon Valley Bowl, I'm embarrassed that Northern even made a bowl with three losses.

Seriously, I squeaked through cliqueish middle school and mind-draining high school with nary a thought then today all of a sudden I was just like "This isn't doin' it for me. But I can really go out on a high note if I play my cards right." Then I scared myself off by wondering what it's like and I didn't want to fuck up my family whom I just spent Friday through Monday with.
