  1. Three straight series, we take one step forward, two steps back. Ridiculous.
  2. I'm at the end of my rope with this guy. Just like Smoltz, Gagne, and Rivera, when this guy comes in, you know the outcome. Except with Farnsworth it's not lights-out, it's a thorough cock-rocking that blows the biggest of leads, as many as four runs this year alone. He's supposedly the closer of the future, sayeth the Cubs, for YEARS now. He's obviously never going to be a worthy closer. I'd say trade him, but I think he's such damaged goods that this never-was would just elicit a hearty laugh from every GM in the majors. Fire his ass now.
  3. I bet Todd Wellemeyer and many other Cub pitchers are better than that crotch-grabbing batter-hitting piece of crap that we keep sending out there.
  4. Fucking Kyle Farnsworth, I swear to God.
  5. Morocco Mole Peach Moleba
  6. Is Barry Bonds not a member of the MLBPA?
  7. Well I like The Breakfast Club, and I like baseball, so the two come together in this marvelous moment.
  8. I'd expect that kind of crap in the 19th century, but what kind of modern-day sports figures could do this? Damn cool ones.
  9. Oh and back on topic: COREY EFFING PATTERSON, he's really redeeming himself now! I'm happy. That indicates in visual form that I am happy.
  10. I always thought Phillies were #3 and bigger than the Sixers. I mean, they just got a new park, so they must be somewhat favored. I've known it to be Eagles then Flyers though. In a city like Chicago, where hockey has died like you cannot comprehend, it's refreshing to see an American city where the NHL isn't the distant fourth.
  11. Yeah same here, but further confounded since we're already in America. He certainly never made it to state in the 2000 Geography Bee.
  12. For all your culinary needs. Off the beltway.
  13. Proposed what? In Dave Barry Hits Below The Beltway, a book I recommend to all of you, he makes a compelling argument for kicking South Florida out of the Union. Reasons include CIA drug busts that result in cocaine rain, men who have no qualms about admitting "I am a Colombian drug lord" in public, and obviously, Election 2000. Oh yeah, and giant zucchini. (You'll get it when you read it)
  14. I don't care if the coverage is biased in the home country, because come on, I'm sure it's fine for each nation to support their own over the rest. Whatever
  15. I got especially concerned when he said it about Denmark, myself.
  16. How can I compete with such rapier wit? Obviously with that ever-so-biting sarcasm.
  17. I was going to post this before Kingpk locked it: You're not a nerd of the killer variety, you're more of a wacky random nerd. Like a minor-league me. I felt this had to be posted by any means necessary, lock be damned.
  18. Well we are kinda talkin about the Greeks in a roundabout way

  20. As the sensei of Fatassu taught me in his dojo, "to attain true slacking, you must not just sit upon the couch. You must become one with the couch."
  21. I hope that Northern Illinois has another good season. I really want to get into the whole college football experience for once. I was mildly into the NFL a few years ago and have never followed at the college level.
  22. Okay I'll try again. Having four columns in the standings is too much. As someone mentioned here, only in the NHL can you play 82 games a year, say "Hey cool! We won 38 games this season! We'll get home ice in the playoffs for sure," and be absolutely right.
  23. A pennant is winning the league. A pennant race is the effort getting there, which includes the regular season. It used to be one of the primary events, but its been watered down thanks to the wild card. If such is the case, Seattle has no pennant. Indians won in '95. The question involves pennant races. Even if the chase is ultimately futile, a player's individual achievements in such an endeavour deserve analyzation. In this case, Seattle overcame a double-digit lead to win the division. Because they won the division, the Mariners earned MILLIONS in extra revenue thanks to the postseason. Martinez was largely responsible for that. I think he's referring to where you said Ok, fair enough. I should have stated "won the division." I caught an error from alkeiper, TSM God Of Baseball? No way!
  24. MUGATaker, MUGAZsasz, MUGAshut the fuck up.
  25. They don't understand. He's my blanket of love.
