I think an 8-team playoff would be fair. It'd give the powerhouses from the big conferences thier representation, plus give a couple of surprise teams (Utah and that Boise State) their chance to shine. Sure there would be bitching with a team or two getting screwed out of the playoffs, (hell, there's always bitching in the 65-bracket basketball tourney) but it'd be 20 times better than the joke of a system they have now...

Yes to both of your questions. And in those "blue" states they tend to make more money due to higher cost of living than their "red" state counterparts, so it's only natural they'd send more in to Washington. I will admit I got a laugh years ago from some little factoid Time magazine busted out. Back in '96 during his campaign for president, Dole said that some Kansas county he was very familar with was filled with hard-working people that never asked for a handout, but yet that county had one of the highest costs of Social Security and Medicare payments in the country. Sure most of the people in that county were old farts and spent a lifetime "paying in" to those programs, but it was still funny nevertheless...

Just curious. I went through the first disc of of the first volume. It's interesting to see that 1-2 minutes of not-for-syndication material in each episode. So far it looks to be just axed standup material. Also, I never watched Seinfeld when it was on NBC, so I like seeing in what order the episodes aired in -- I never realized that chick in the "stake out" episode was also in the "stock tip" episode, or that the "import/export" line that Susan busted George with in a later episode was created in the "stake out" episode as well...
