  1. When Helms first became The Hurricane, he was kind of a super villain. Granted, he was a goofy super villain and most everybody cheered him when I saw him team up with Hugh Morrus against Scotty 2 Hotty and Albert in a Alliance Vs WWF match at a house show but he was technically a supervillain since he was with the evil, EVIL Alliance.
  2. Orndorff coming out to "U Can't Touch This" was easily the most entertaining part of the first show closely followed by the unintentionally hilarious commentary team. The overexcited Abrams and Bruno Sammartino on color sounding completely bored out of his skull, just waiting to get his paycheck.
  3. There wasn't much reason at all. On an episode of RAW, Goldust came on the TitanTron after RVD beat somebody and said RVD's dreams would be shattered and then attacked RVD from behind. Not sure why he attacked RVD- all I know is it led to a pretty damn boring match.
  4. Check me off as one of those guys who thought D Lo Brown would get a bigger push than he did. Maybe not main event but I definitely thought he'd be an upper mid-card guy who made an occasional appearence in the main event. I also thought Rikishi would be a World Champ within a year or two after he fought Triple H in a competitive (and damn good) match on an episode of Smackdown! Boy that heel turn killed whatever momentum his career had, even if it did get him into the main events for a bit.
  5. Yeah, you guys are spot on
  6. I think he still wrestles on the occassional indy show. As for him reappearing in the WWF, he came back around November '92 as "Terrific" Terry Taylor and was even in the '93 Rumble. He was pretty much a JTTS the whole time during that stint. Then he went back to WCW for a brief period in early '94. Most notable moment of that stint being defeating Diamond Dallas Page at SuperBrawl IV
  7. ^I'm with Kinetic and Milky.
  8. Man, worst thing that's happened to me involving a kid at a wrestling show was when a couple of 10/11ish year old girls sitting behind me inadvertantly shrieked in my ear when Batista came out for his match with Rey Mysterio Jr against King Booker and Mark Henry at the last house show I went to in June '06. I guess he constitues as a sex symbol for prepubescent female wrestling fans these days.
  9. Barring a return by Jearan or an appearence from socksquatch (FART) this might be the worst PPV thread ever.
  10. Oh Czech. Though I must say some of Juno's lines seemed like generic indy movie wonk that nobody would really say. Other than that, it was pretty good. Not in My Top 5 of '07 but probably in the Top 10. and Kinetic, does this Stomp and Stammer have a website? I'd be curious to read some of it as it sounds wildly entertaining.
  11. The gold standard's gonna reign in health care costs and lower gas prices. And you poke fun at Obama supporters for being naive and short on substance? He does seem to pretty much share your views on race issues. from the Ron Paul Political Report, 1992 Say it ain't so, Chewie.
  12. So...anything interesting happen?
  13. It's not our right to play e-God and decides who stays and who is banned. A lifetime sentence in the WWE folder should be a suitable punishment. Who knows, maybe they'll reform themselves. Why didn't I think of that as a punishment? Six months in the WWE folder would surely lead me to internet suicide. Hell, six days might do it.
  14. According to wikipedia, it's tonight. Here's the card according to wikipedia TNA World title match Kurt Angle Vs Christian Cage Ultimate X match Johnny Devine and Team 3D Vs Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns Abyss Vs Judas Mesias (Who?) NO DQ match for TNA Women's title Gail Kim Vs Awesome Kong Mixed Tag Team match Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks Vs Booker T and Sharmell TNA World Tag Team titles match A.J. Styles and Tomko Vs Kevin Nash and Samoa Joe Two out of three falls Drinking Championship Series James Storm Vs Eric Young (First fall will be who can drink two 40 oz first) Kaz Vs Black Reign LAX Vs The Rock and Roll Infection If that card doesn't get you wanting to shell out $30 (or whatever TNA PPVs cost these days) than you're a goth!
  15. I rented Roman Polanski's Pirates on VHS. It's the first time I've rented a VHS in two years (Interestingly enough, the last time was at the same independent video store, it was a compilation of short films from early episodes of SNL). The movie isn't on DVD and I couldn't resist the urge to see what is, according to Roger Ebert, the worst pirate movie ever made. The video store also had another notably bad movie not on DVD, the Run DMC movie, Tougher Than Leather (With Rick Rubin as the villain!).
  16. Anybody care? I just wanted to say I started a PPV thread. I don't know why.
  17. Alright something in my terrible predictions thread got me wondering- how did Kurrgan turn from low-rent monster heel to a lovable, tie dye shirt wearing goof with the Oddities? I vaguely remember Cyrus verbally absuing him and the rest of the Oddities.
  18. I honestly don't know. Maybe they figured they already had Kane and they could only push one monster heel at a time. They did do a half decent job at initially pushing the guy though. I remember he squashed Ahmed Johnson when Johnson was still a semi-credible mid carder. Then all of a sudden, he was dancing awkwardly with Golga and that other tall dude (Giant Silva) and wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
  19. I must reiterate how glad I am to see Juno doing so well.
  20. Why didn't he, outside of the Rumble elimination thing? I think the biggest reason was that he sucked. I also thought Kurt Angle would be a bust. But I thought he would be a dweeby babyface as well when I first saw the promos.
  21. If I ever per chance become a producer of daytime television, Milky Cares will become a cornerstone of daytime talk shows alongside Maury and Montell.
  22. Yeah I saw video of them reuniting at an indy show a month or so ago. It was quite traumatizing to see a sixty year old Bill Eadie and a fiftysomething Barry Darsow wearing the S&M outfits and the facepaint. Yech. Oh another inaccurate hoss prediction, I thought Kurrgan would be someone to watch and was eagerly expecting a big feud with The Undertaker. Actually I'm really glad I was wrong on this one.
  23. There were vague hints at it in Vic Venom's (Vince Russo's pseudonym) The Informer column in WWF Magazine. It would have to been an update they were hinting at cause Barry Darsow was threatening to break people's stinkin' teeth in WCW and IIRC Bill Eadie and the WWF were still entangled in a lawsuit over the name.
  24. Agreed I'd also like to nominate Kinetic. He's a slightly less condescending Incadenza and lord knows we need a hipster on this jury.
  25. ^Has a (I'm assuming) nude picture of Marques "Batman" Houston as his avatar.
