Jimmy Carter? He's history's greatest monster!

From wikipedia Parson Brown The following lyrics compose the musical bridge of the song: "In the meadow we can build a snowman, then pretend that he is Parson Brown. He'll say 'Are You Married?' We'll say 'No man, but you can do the job when you're in town!" Given that a Floridian orange grower was the only well-known person by the name of "Parson Brown" at the time the song was composed, one can assume that "Parson" is used as a first name rather than a title. In the period when this song was written, parsons (now known as a Protestant ministers) often traveled among small rural towns to perform wedding ceremonies for denominational followers who did not have a local minister of their own faith. It is therefore likely that the children are pretending that their snowman is a parson with the surname "Brown" who would be visiting the town again in the future. The words "Parson Brown" also feature in the 1929 Al Jolson song "Liza (All the Clouds'll Roll Away)". In modern-day versions of the song, the term "Parson Brown" is sometimes substituted with "Charlie Brown", either for comical or secular reasons, or for a sense of familiarity. An example of such usage is in the cover by pop band Hellogoodbye.

My favorites; Paul McCartney- Wonderful Christmastime (Go ahead- give me crap for this one. I don't care. I have an unabashed love for McCartney and Wings.) The Pogues- Fairy Tale of New York Band Aid- Do They Know It's Christmas? (Another one you can give me crap about. I don't care. Bono's line kills me. Tonight THANK GOD IT'S THEM INSTEAD OF YOOOUUUU The Darkness- Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)

I'm indifferent towards harmonica solos- leaning towards dislike. The only harmonica solo I can remember liking was the one for "Ghost of Tom Joad" by Bruce Springsteen and that didn't have anything due to the quality of the solo but the fact that my dog would "sing" along to it (he'd do the same when my dad played harmonica but only for dad and Bruce I guess)

I say the he early live Shotgun Saturday Night episodes would be a lot of fun and they might tie in a bit with the present MNW. Then again, they'd run out after a few episodes and then it'd be the generic squash show taped before RAW. And I can only take The Headbangers Vs The Oddities so many more times -
IIRC, Cawthon told me they (WWE) just took a photo of an old house show poster from '96 from his site, superimposed Warrior's picture and name over Michaels. I'm not 100% sure but I remember him mentioning something like that.

30 Rock is doing the same thing two nights later. I hope some of it ends up on YouTube. I'd be tempted to go to NYC this weekend for either of them but tickets sold out in seconds.

There was too much going on in Earl for a half hour show, they should have cut out the Catalina subplot. It was a pretty blah episode outside of Darnell having contractions which made me chuckle despite myself.

What's with all of the shill posters lately?

A friend told me he did the same thing out of bordeom with a Dominoes large pizza and the cinnamon dessert thingy they have there and a two liter of Coke. It's disgusting watching said friend eat sometimes. Besides shoving down his gullet, he puts ketchup on almost everything.

I never owned or possessed a Creed album despite the fact around '99/'00, my dad professed that the band was pretty good. It would have been just like him to give me one of their CDs for Christmas but fortunately he didn't. My dad usually has a pretty decent taste in music but once in a while he comes up to me and is like..."Hey I saw this great band named Chevelle on Conan last night, you ever heard of them?"

One of the few reasons music is better now than it was in the 70s- no flute solos. I'm having a hard time recalling a non Jethro Tull song that had a flute solo in it that I like.

They probably would have gotten slightly bigger legends. Let's see since Lane and Blanchard's match didn't have a clean finish I'd do The Midnight Express (Lane and Condrey e since Eaton was a road agent with WCW IIRC till near the bitter end) Vs Tully Blanchard and Barry Windham. I'd have Tito Santana Vs Greg Valentine, 2 Cold Scorpio Vs someone in the token "guys who aren't that old" match (let's say Tracy Smothers even though he may have been in ECW at the time), Marty Jannetty and Tommy Rogers Vs The Rock and Roll Express. For shits and giggles, do Jake Roberts Vs The Iron Sheik as the semi-main and in the main event, hell given the event is a success, bring in The Warrior to take on Jim Neidhart (the guy who looked the least shitty in the main event of Heroes of Wrestling). Still a pretty crappy looking show but at least most of the guys on this card could freaking move.

Yeah, it's easily the most morbid fast food ad campaign I've ever seen. Doesn't really make me want to eat Burger King. Well not anymore than I already did.

Fuck yes. Hey only three or so more weeks and I think we can start a Final Season thread.

I won't say WWF house shows are great shakes but WCW had a reputation, even at their peak in the mid 90s, for putting on mediocre house shows for the most part. Now some 80s NWA house shows on the other hand... -

Yeah I'm aware of the fact that they used fan cams for most of them but IIRC they professionally taped almost all of their ECW Arena shows-whether they were "events" or not. -
For some reason I'm really looking forward to Clash of The Choirs. That sounds like it could have a nice trainwreck quality to it though I think Clash of the Celebrity Glee Clubs would be a better title

I've recently gotten into Issac Hayes myself. Speaking of which, anybody hear have any suggestions for albums of his I should pick up? I just got Hot Buttered Soul thanks to getting some free songs on EMusic.

I'm that exact same way. Mildly OT, but I quit drinking caffeine about ten days ago mostly to see if I could do it and to cut 99% of my soda intake out of my diet and I'm definitely more alert during the day now. I think I'll keep up with it. I've been sleeping like a baby too.

Yeah, WCW didn't tape their house shows IIRC even though they hyped up their shows at The Omni occassionally on TV (Especially during Watts' booking reign) Now ECW Old School would probably be possible since they taped a lot of shit but has it been long enough to consider ECW Old School? -
Czech, what's the opposite of a mundane sports achievement? Cause I got one for that involving mercy. I lost a game of mercy once to a girl. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of elementary school to me. But to be fair, her playground nickname at the time was "The Barbarian" and she was probably as big as me. Still my cruel classmates at Longfellow Elementary never let me live it down.

Heh, I just got offered free tickets for an acoustic performance by Jonathan Davis of KoRn. I'm going to have to say "no" since I really don't like KoRn but I would have gone if it weren't a 75 minute drive. I'm just a sucker for free tickets. That's how I ended up at a Taste of Chaos.

I think they have a outside shot at beating Buffalo on the road. I mean it's not like The Bills ran over them last weekend.

Well, Miami has a half-decent shot at winning three of those (Jets, Baltimore, and Cincy). I'd say the game against The Jets is the most likely win for The Fins. Hell with that schedule The Fins might fuck up and end up with a better record than not only The Rams but The Raiders and 49ers too.
