I hope I don't sound like a dumbass but there isn't one consistantly good or even decent major fast food chain out there. I swear if you go to any of the major chains, at least 1 out of 3 times you go there, it'll suck. A visit to a crappy Wendy's today for lunch sparked this comment. Wendy's is my favorite of the three big burger chains and yet at least 33.3% of the time I go there, it sucks. Go figure.

Saw Christopher Guest tonight in Boston. He was getting an honorary doctorate from Berklee. And even though it was a concert I thought it would fit in a bit better in this board's CTDWAT than the music forum's. He played with Berklee students and faculty. Huge fucking band with a full horn and string section. Pretty epic. Anyway here's what was played; Anyway here's the setlist; 1. Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight 2. (Listen to the) Flower People 3. Old Joe's Place 4. Skeletons of Quinto (instrumental interlude) Video of Steve Vai congratulating Christopher Guest and rocking out to the Steve Vaiesque "Theme for Purim" from For Your Consideration 5.Start Me Up (Rolling Stones cover done in the style of The Folksmen) 6. Blood On The Coal 7. A Mighty Wind 8. Lick My Love Pump/Cups and Cakes (2nd instrumental interlude) 9. Gimme Some Money Video of Elvis Costello sending his congratulations and singing a part of "A Penny For Your Thoguht" 10. Stool Boom 11. A Penny For Your Thought 12. Nothing Ever Happens in Blaine Video of Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith telling a story about how Aerosmith opened up for Spinal Tap in the early 70s and trashed Nigel Tufnel's room while he was out and Nigel ended up being arrested for it when he got back. 13. Stonehenge 14. Hell Hole 15. Big Bottom (With several dozen bass players surrounding the stage) Great show but it was a tad short. Only 75 minutes or so and about 10 of those were taken up by the various videos. Would have liked to hear "Sex Farm" or "Christmas In Hell" but what can ya do? "Gimme Some Money" was probably the highlight of the night. The girl who sang it was really hot and was a hell of a singer. Jamie Lee Curtis was there

Well I guess I'm wrong. I wonder if they got to finish the series as Juvy was released no more than a couple weeks after that match.
-
I was one of the five people who regularly watched WCW at that point and I have no recollection of a Best of Five series between those two whatsoever. I'd bet it never happened and you're just getting mixed up. Besides, Juvy got released in October 2000 after running through a hotel lobby naked high on something (PCP IIRC) and shouting during WCW's sold out Australian tour. I'm sure somebody here knows more specifics about the incident. It was a pretty amusing story.

I didn't say they were bad just kind of forgotten for a band whose lead singer died. They have some songs with the new singer on MySpace; www.myspace.com/blindmelon Incidentally, "Don't Cry" my favorite Guns 'N' Roses song.

I guess I can see your point about the first half though I don't agree but you're dead on about the last half of the movie. My god, the entire court room scene at the end (I can't even remember why the fuck they had a trial) was some of the most manupluitive shit I've ever seen on screen.

Yeah, Blind Melon reunited a couple months ago they're releasing a new album next year too apparently. I mean, really, what's the point? The only thing memorable about the band is the Bee Girl and the fact that their lead singer died.
-
Agreed but fortunately I haven't seen it happen much. But oddly enough the last two times were Patch Adams and My Favorite Martian. The latter is somewhat excusable cause the audience was made up mostly of easily entertained annoying kids but Patch fucking Adams? I don't get why anybody would give that piece of shit an ovation.

I voted for "Flash" Scott Norton Vicious and Delicious is 2nd only to Fire and Ice in terms of the greatest tag teams of all time IMHO

Random band reunion; The Verve Pipe Is it just me or have there been a ton of unneccessary and uncalled for band reunions this year? I mean who was really clamoring for The Verve Pipe and Blind Melon to reunite?

One of the last time I was at FYE, I looked through the Queen CDs and some high school kids snickered at me and made snide comments behind my back. Damn them. I've never teeheed at them for looking at Killers CDs. Damn kids! That's all I have to add to this thread.

Who the hell is Jack Korpela? One of the referees? -
Wasn't Beefcake on the episode where Knobbs was staying at house and wouldn't leave and a convention came and he invited a bunch of wrestlers over the house? I think Beefcake was in that group but all I really remember is Greg Valentine peeing on the side of the house *shudders*

Kevin DuBrow was the lead singer of Quiet Riot. And any hair metal expert like myself would tell you that Randy Rhoads would be Kevin DuBrow's guitar player in Heaven cause he was QR's original guitarist. DUH!

Slamboree '98 (I fucking love this show. It's the nostalgia show for me. I saw my first, last, and only WCW show two days after it (A Saturday Night taping) so this brings back a lot of fond memories. It's a damn fun show too with the Cruiserweight Battle Royal and Jericho's introductions, The Bowery Death Match (Sue me, I liked it) and a damn good Benoit-Finlay matchup) Royal Rumble '94 (Again for nostalgia reasons but I still really enjoy this show. An underrated Rumble, The Harts-Quebecers, and even the World title match is a fun to watch trainwreck) Heroes of Wrestling (Cause I need a laugh sometimes)

Yeah, I don't get the bad rap on Mero either. It seems like the biggest knock against him was his wife was a bitch and he was a bit of a primadonna during his WWF run. Weirdly enough, my biggest markout moment was when Marc Mero beat Farooq in the WWF Intercontinental title tournament finals. I don't know why but me an my brother were practically flipping over furniture in joy when The Wildman beat the Evil Gladiator. -
So Kevin DuBrow, the lead singer of Quiet Riot, died. That's kind of surprising since he looked to be in pretty good shape on all of those VH1 specials then again he did probably do a lot of drugs in the 80s.

I think Sapp was released a few months before WCW went out of business. First time, I remember seeing the guy was in late '00/early '01 beating the crap out of The Fridge on FX's Toughman show.

I heard the 30 second sample of Prince's new single on ITunes. Sounds like that damn Camille pseudonymn.

Fuck, I watched this last night and the part where Michaelangelo tries to do the anti-drug talk cracked me up. I was laughing for ten minutes straight. And where the fuck were the rest of the Ninja Turtles anyway? Did they run out of money to hire the voice actors who did Raphael, Leonardo, and Donatello? It seemed odd just to have Michaelangelo there. And I found out via IMDB that George C. Scott plays the Smoke. Quite a fall from Patton.

Didn't stop Epic Movie from being #1 its opening weekend.

My favorite band when I was 8. Ya! Oddly enough I discovered them via The Mighty Ducks when they sing "We Are The Champions" at the end and my dad said "Hey they're singing Queen." Still like them to this day, I saw the Mercury-less Queen last year with Paul Rodgers. It was actually pretty damn good but Paul Rodgers sounded way out of place on their 80s synth driven stuff. I agree with Milky. Mercury's definitely an icon but not a genius. He's influential but how many good Queen ripoffs have there been? I don't know how to really explain it but I think a band's genius lies in how good its ripoffs are

OMG Terminator 4 is definetly going ahead

OK, I admit the Charlie's Angels movies blew ass but was the original TV series good enough to get up in arms about how shitty the remake was? Has anybody seen the TV series lately? It's not that good at all. That's why I didn't get worked about the movies. I'm willing to give McG a slight benefit of the doubt. If only because Bale is in it and Bale hasn't fucked up that much in his film career.
